Eliot's throat ached as he fought not to yell across the cafe, surely reaching his limit. He was being talked back to in a manner he wasn't exactly fond with in terms how he'd like to get his way. That involved him in not being wrong or, in fact, caught overreacting to such a situation. Such an action truly stressed him out; especially when he already had enough on his plate to deal with. Like the situation with Ada once he returned home to surprise her.

"Well today you obviously weren't cautious enough about her time frame in which you had to go make he appointment to Jack and come back. You were supposed to be back before I arrived," Eliot started, twitching as he rung up another customer who, had he not been arguing, looked as though she'd be making quite a fuss. But even the regulars at the shop they worked in knew better than to get in the way of such fickle things - it'd cool down eventually.

((FINALLY!))

((YAAAAAAAAYY.))

Gilbert let out an exasperated sigh, straining to cool himself down as he kept on reminding himself how he was not only in public, but also completely out of usable comebacks. Oh, screw Eliot and his stupid need to start pointless arguments throughout the day. And screw his pitiful devotion to his stupid girlfriend. And screw Break's uncanny fascination with Eliot's temper. He tried not to yell, settling to raise his voice just a little bit as he flickered his golden gaze around the room in annoyance.

"I'm sorry, alright? What's the big deal, anyhow? It's not like I was gone half a shift or anything, I can just make up for it in overtime." He countered, handing an empty tray to Break as the silver-haired male made himself busy with refilling it. Placing a latte and a brownie on it, he attached a sticky note with the table number on it. Delayed, Gil muttered under his breath. "Asshole..."

Rather than continuing to call Gil out on his increasing rudeness and resisting the urge to trip the dark haired male flat on his face, Eliot simply chippe off quite a large chunk from the counter out of pure anger, watching as Gil walked by to the next customer. Even though he knew he was imagining it, he could just picture Gil strutting about after such a fight as if he'd won. Actually that was a lie. But the visual of Eliot then proceeding to skewer him with his antique sword in his living room certainly seemed just as appealing and helped him calm down a bit. However, Break's subtle staring from behind him as he continued to eye the candy and sweets not belonging to his counter were annoying him.

"Break," He started, that annoyed "I'm-going-to-give-you-to-the-count-of-three" tone in his voice as he half way turned to glare at the white haired male. "If you don't get back to work, I'm going to rip out your other eye and sell it dipped in chocolate on your candy counter." Eliot calmly threatened, turning back to the register to ring up a slightly horrified elderly woman. Who cares if she heard his angry threat. Anyone whogot on his nerves usually suffered such a fate.

Break laughed, despite how offended he might have been by that comment. It's not that his other eye was simply hidden under his hair for style, but it wasn't taken out either... He was just blind in that eye. He was born blind in that eye; his natural eye color was red, but his blindness made his bad eye white. His other senses were heightened due to this - mostly just taste, as one would notice right away.

"Eliot, Eliot," He slowly maneuvered past him, glancing over his shoulder for a moment. "You'd best not scare our customers... We have a bad rep because of your outbutsts as it is~" He filled up a cup with a latte, this time for the customer rather than himself.

"Yeah, Eliot," Gilbert muttered, taking out a cigarette from his apron pocket. He headed into the back room momentarily to have a quick smoke - he needed it.

Eliot tried to ignore the soft, velvety tone that Break used with him, his haughty words slipping smoothly off his lips in what really could be considered a condescending manner. He hated that about Break. It wasn't just his knack for eating every god damn sweet in sight. It wasn't just his uncanny ability to pop up in the scariest of places. And it wasn't just how Break's charm seemed to affect every woman he met. No, not at all. It was the way in which he spoke to others, the way that he almost looked down on Eliot, that unnerved the pale blond and made him want to kill the white haired menace.

Very casually flipping Gil the middle finger, Eliot turned to Break, ready for his assault on the male. Usually his verbal battles were much harder to win but there were times when he managed fairly well in silencing him. It wasn't that hard if you threatened the right thing at the right times within a conversation/debate.

"I think the bad reputation more so comes from you constantly nicking all of the sweets and scaring the older customers. Remember, you almost gave that poor woman a wart attack from popping out from behind the counter!"

"Just because I eat a lot doesn't make the food irreplaceable... And besides," Break nonchalantly unwrapped a chocolate bar from the counter, taking a firm bite out of it with a loud 'crack' sound. "I can't help if I'm naturally so attention-grabbing." Swinging his feet, he watched as Gilbert emerged from the back room, dumping a full ashtray into the trash can just opposite the counter. Checking the clock, he sighed... He had only been at work for fourty-five minutes...

...He wanted to go home already. Vincent promised to be home before dinner; much earlier than the times he's been home at lately. He wasn't sure why, but Vincent was at work for much longer than usual... He missed his company lately, and it really concerned him with how his time was occupied.

Eliot scoffed, elbowing Break out of the way to grab his own bar of bitter dark chocolate to munch on, glaring upward at his fellow co-worker. Another thing he hated. Break always seemed so cocky and full of himself. Like he knew the whole entire female population thought he was sexy. The attention whore...

"The only reason you get so many looks is because you, you delusional old man, are a freak and hereby dubbed a weirdo in this town." The blond eyed Gil coming from behind as he kept a wary eye on the quietly chatting customers, no one else seeming to file in at the moment. The black haired teen looked very...anxious it seemed. To leave he assumed. Who wasn't? He had things to do as well when he got home. Eliot nearly let a brief smile flit across his face at the thought. "What's up with you? Run out of cigarettes already Gil?"

Gilbert broke out of his daze, glaring a bit at Eliot. "Of course not," He shot back coldly, knowing full well he had a full pack of cigs still on hand. He had nothing to worry about for now - besides maybe the off-chance that Vincent wouldn't be home at the time he said he would.

"I'm just a little preoccupied." He wanted to shoot back with 'what about you and Ada?' or something like that, but he wasn't in the mood for another argument. Especially not with Eliot...

firetruck, he just hated people who'd constantly talk about their wonderful girlfriend and how 'sweet and pretty she is.' Eliot was frequently one of those people. He respected that Eliot was in love with a girl and everything, he just didn't understand why he had to make it public. If he loved her so much, why didn't he just marry her already?

I now pronounce this thread officially dead.

I don't expect to be back for awhile.

((Replying to this because I don't want to leave it off at an awkward cliff-hanger for the Tumblr thing if we hopefully do it~ You don't have to reply.))

"Hm." Deciding that, for the time being, he'd leave his co-worker alone. Already, he could feel a partial headache developing (of course that was his fault entirely for bickering) and he didn't think that having a migraine of all things would do good for his proposal to Ada tonight. At the very thought of getting down on one knee, he felt a shock of anxiety shoot down into his gut. Marriage...it was nerve-wracking to say the least. He was so young, as was she, but he couldn't help feeling that this was right. Eliot was so sure that this was it. Everyone else probably was too. The only downfall was having to put up with her younger brother, Oz, as his step-brother. Jack was alright, they had met a few times in between (the blond would be surprised if the florist remembered his name - his memory was utter shit sometimes). But Oz. God Oz. Sometimes he was just too much for Eliot's temper of two complaints to handle.

"By the way," Eliot began casually, having simmered down briefly and talking like an actual human being. When he wasn't irritated, he was quite calm and nonchalant. Oblivious to him, when he wasn't so temperamental, Eliot could be a ladies charmer in that aspect - the very thing he hated within Gil and Break. "Is it alright if I leave early tonight?"

Obnoxious. He was so obnoxious. asking for an early leave after the fit he threw...It was well intended, he was going to set up the dinner and magical moment of it all for Ada, but the looks of dismay he would be receiving was easily predicted (to everyone but him as he bit into his chocolate once more).
