((LONG Summary Ahead))

Elizabeth Parker knew her life wasn't an easy one. She knew that there were things in life she couldn't change. She couldn't change the fact that two weeks before her eleventh birthday her mother, Lilly Parker, took her own life. She couldn't change that as a result her father, Neil Parker, began to change his habits towards her by making her suffer domestic abuse. And she also couldn't change that, despite her efforts, the situation she had been forced into left her powerless. But Elizabeth learned that in the end all that mattered was her outlook and how she coped with it.

 

For years to come, Elizabeth had no change in routine. She suffered a beating or argument every other day and hid it from the world. And no one suspected a thing - not her friends she had long since distanced herself from or the teachers in her public school who preferred to simply do their job and ignore anything that didn't serve as a benefit to them. That is, until her sixteenth birthday came around.

 

Her father had given her the acceptance letter to Miss Anne's School For Potential Young Ladies and Gentlemen. In other words, a private school with high expectations. Bewildered by the rare gift, Elizabeth went along with his plans, even if it meant moving across her little suburban town in New Jersey. The opportunity presented couldn't be any better despite her sudden disappearance from her life before.

In Elizabeth's first few days she meets a boy by the name of Danny Lendonly - aloof and rather uncaring for most things, he's a studious teenager and rather distant from everyone else. By chance, she's paired up with him on a project when she starts learning dark secrets about him. She finds he's actualy sweet and funny, intelligent and sarcastic with that cocky attitude that might just make her insane if it weren't for how he made her happy. But his secrets say he shouldn't be that way. Elizabeth finds he too suffers abuse and rape from his father and brother - the rest of his family unaware of it. Her first instinct is to tell someone but he makes her promise that she is to keep quiet. When asked why, Danny simply states he has his own secrets.

 

"When my time comes,

Forget the wrong that I've done.

Help me leave behind some,

Reasons to be missed.

And don't resent me,

When you're feeling empty.

Keep me in your memory.

Leave out all the rest,

Leave out all the rest."

 

Elizabeth hates secrets. And she hates not knowing everything when she knows Danny hides it from her. But it's fair since she has her share of dark secrets too. It's only a matter of finding who will discover each other's first and who will meet the other at the finish line*.

~Rules~

 

1.) No God-Modding, simple as that. You can not kill of either Danny or Elizabeth via abuse or suicide...yet.

 

2.) You have to build up the story and really give emotion and story to the character. For example, Danny his stubborn, caring, intelligent and the other qualities mentioned in the summary. But the sweetness and what not is all subtle. He still his human, he still needs reactions to what he has to suffer. If that means a failed attempt at suicide or snapping at Elizabeth, or even running away from home, it should be done. Nothing like that is to extreme if it's built up with reason, not just in the first five pages.

 

3.) Please try to keep in mine that proper grammar, punctuation, and lengthy posts are a must.

 

4.) Have fun and be creative if you're interested with this semi-complex idea. I look forward to this RP~

I'm glad you're interested - you may have skimmed the rules though. Before I can make a choice I need you to leave an example of your style ifyou were to RP this. So like, as if you were acting out a small scenario that may or may not happen in the RP from Danny's 3rd person POV. And you'd have the other roles to like Abril and Neil and stuff too, like said below. Just double checking that you read ^^'~

Hmm well my Rp skills aren't that great, they can be better but here I go. I did read the rules, but I read it the wrong way.

 

Danny, I need you to take out the trash, Father asked. Do it before I get mad. Why? Danny asked Why cant you walk just 10 feet and do it yourself, its that simple. Well if its that simple then do what you're told, dont make me ask again. No I wont do it, I have better things to do right now, like my homework, because you know, I need to do it to pass. Danny, get your butt over here now, before I come over there and beat you. No, you're going to have to come over here then, im still not going to do your work, its simple as that. How dare you disrespect your Father. Phil! Father shouted, get over here, bring whatever works, your brother is going to get another beating for disrespecting me. Coming father! Phil brings a Baseball bat with him, and it has plenty of scratches on it.

Father! Please stop... Please. Do as you're told and none of these stuff will happen, do you ever think about that Danny? Huh? Do you? Of course not, you never think, now get your butt up and take out the trash. Yes Father, Danny says as he goes out in tears.

 

Well, umm I tried my best, Hope it makes good enough sense. Took me awhile to think of somthing, but I wanted to start it out with his father doing something.

Thats fine, Kinda read it over again, and was like damn... But lesson learned, you pointed out my flaw and now I can get better at it.

For as long as he could remember... This treatment was always necessary.

 

Whenever Danny did something wrong, misbehaved, or spoke out of line, it all ended the same way. And he hated it. He's learned to despise his own family, and no matter how many times he had tried to get out of it - whether it be running away or trying to commit suicide - it never worked, and that drove him to hate and be hated all over again. Punishments became ten times worse, and in time, Danny blamed himself for everything bad that happened to him.

 

Why did he have to talk back? Why did he disobey when he was painfully aware of the consequences? Perhaps it was to protect himself, or perhaps it was simply instinct to fight back in a time of danger. Either way, he got sick of it. But Danny knew that it wouldn't come to an end unless they died, or if Danny was successful in his attempts to run away. All he could do now was to temporarily escape the pain and the horrible abuse... Most of the time, he passed out due to choking himself or cutting into the artery in his arm.

 

Sifting his fingers through his hair, he packed his work neatly into his binder. Moving to put it back in his backpack, a clatter on the floor sounded, and he looked around suspiciously. I thought that oaf wasn't home yet...

 

And he hadn't been. Father must have come home around the time Danny was in his daze, deciding what he'd do to get away from it all the next time anything happened to him. "Danny!" A gruff voice rang out, followed by another clatter. Curious as to what this metallic noise was, he went into the foyer and investigated.

 

Beer bottles were everywhere. Some sat upright, others were carelessly tossed about. Danny covered his mouth with his hand and moved back several steps, trying to get away. It was no use - he was petrified with fear. Every time Danny's father got drunk, it always ended in abuse and rape. "Clean this up!" Danny swallowed his saliva, feeling it catch in his throat and slip down like syrup.

 

"Do it!" He ordered again, pointing toward his mess. Danny, despite knowing what would happen next, glared up at his father. His face was swollen up, his tie was messed up, and he smelled strongly of alcohol.

"Why should I? It's not my mess." Danny's father gritted his teeth, nearly breaking the glass bottle in his fist out of anger. Danny's eyebrow twitched as he approached him, grabbing his son's hair and making his point much clearer.

"You're going to clean this mess. Do you want your ass kicked again?" Danny's hands shook, and he timidly raised his right hand after a moment's hesitation to slap him across the face with as much force as he could. A red hand print was marked on his face, and father stumbled backward, a hand pressed to his face.

 

"Don't put your hands on me!" He snapped back, only to be lunged at.

"You little-" Danny was grabbed by the scruff of the neck like a baby cub and dragged to the kitchen, his head slammed into the countertop, his hands pinned behind his back.

 

(Er... That's as far as I'm gonna go. Lol, it's getting pretty long.)

Sunny. Welcome to KH13. This was exactly what I was looking for! And I love long and lengthy posts like that! The more detail, the more emotion you put in like you did in this little preview the better. You're an excellent writer too. You adapted quiet well to the character I envisioned Danny to be and the same as his father even though you weren't scripted to do so. If I make the thread for the RP today would you be interested in starting right away? After reading your example I'm really quiet eager to start now~
