This is the official story of Pokemon Daydream White/Nightmare Black. If you plan on playing my game, and don't mind being spoiled, go ahead and read. This story should be considered semi-canon to the actually game's story.

Pleasant Nightmares

Figures in white. A gravestone by the lake. Weird shaped rocks. A giant portal. A mountain where it never stops raining. A city full of ghosts. A boy with a yellow h-

All of these images flashed in Nathan's head before he was awakened by the shrill sound of his alarm clock going off. The rays of the morning sun beamed through his window, lighting up his room. Nathan stretched his legs out and yawned, and got of bed to look out of his window. The sun was beaming down on the lake directly in front of his house. The lake gave off a emerald hue, because of the sun's light being reflected off of the jade stones that rest at the bottom of it. The first settlers of Shinto, that migrated from Johto, name the town "Jade Village" because of the lake.

Shinto was first discovered by a group of settlers from Johto 300 years ago, after hearing about a massive landmass directly north of their region. Legend says that Shinto was formed by two giant birds of energy. After the settlers reached Shinto, the group started to have a debate. Half of the group wanting to modernize Shinto, making it like some of the cities back in their home regions of Johto and Kanto. The other half of the group wanted to build cities, but they wanted to keep the nature surrounding the cities and within the cities. Not able to come to an agreement, the settlers with modern ideas moved to the far side of Shinto, while the settlers that wanted tradition stayed. 300 years later, the lower half of Shinto is still full of nature, while they other half is full of big and busy cities.

Nathan opened his curtains to let more sunlight in and then walked to his closet to put on his daily clothes. A black beanie, a black long sleeve shirt, a white sports vest, black sports pants, and white and black shoes awaited him, while his backpack was sitting by his door. After putting on his clothes, Nathan went downstairs to start his day with a hearty breakfast. His mother was already awake, sitting on the couch watching television and drinking coffee in her night robe. "Good morning, Nathan!", she said with a pleasant smile as she noticed him walking down the stairs. "Morning mom.", he replied sleepily as slowly walked into the kitchen. A plate of eggs, toast, and bacon with a glass of orange juice was set neatly on the dining table for him. "Thanks Mom, just what I wanted this morning!". Nathan grabbed his fork and dug in.

"I had to cook you a nice breakfast, today is the big day!". Nathan nearly choked on the piece of toast he just put in his mouth. How did he forget? Today was the day he got his Pokemon from Professor Maple, the professor that lived in Rosecreek Town nearby. "I totally forgot about that!", he said as he wolfed down the rest of his breakfast and gulped down his orange juice. Nathan got up and threw his plate and glass in the dish washer, and started to rush out the door, but his mother stopped him. "Nathan, wait! You are going to leave without saying goodbye?". Turning his heels, he walked back to the couch, a sudden wave of guilt hitting him. His mom got up from the couch and straightened out her robe, and gave her son a big hug. "I'm going to miss you. Your father is off at his construction job, and now you're leaving me as well". Nathan hugged his mom tight. "I'll be back as soon as I can Mom. I promise". His mom let go off him and smiled at him, and then ushered him out of the door.

Taking one last look at his home, Nathan tightened his backpack straps and started to run to Route 49.
