Rumors about a new Syphon Filter have been around for years, but the latest reports revolve around the title coming to PlayStation Vita.
In the newest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK (via sillegamer), the title is rumored to be in development for release on the Vita next year. According to the magazine, "SCE Bend is currently hard at work on Uncharted: Golden Abyss, but its hush-hush Vita project is a return to Syphon Filter."
The last retail release in the series was in 2007, when Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow released on PSP. Rumors of a new installment appearing on PS3 have been around since 2009, and the rumored Vita installment doesn't necessarily rule out the possibility of that happening as well.
The game is only a rumor for now. Sony Bend, the studio responsible for the franchise, has not commented on any future releases in the series.
