I'm trying to get back into writing again, but I'm too lazy for fanfics. So here are some drabbles! Totally didn't steal this idea from Koko. Everyday I'll write a drabble and post it on here --or at least I'll try to write one everyday. Might be every other day, depends on how much of a work load I have. Some of these might contain canon characters, and some of them might have my oc's, it all depends on what I feel like writing. So... feel free to read and give crit if you desire, no one's stopping you. I really haven't written in awhile, so I'm kinda rusty at it xD;

Drabble #1: Friendship

Series: Homestuck

Characters: Equius <> Nepeta

Words: 873

The blueblood finished wrapping the greenblood’s knee. Nepeta, the greenblood, looked up at Equius, the blueblood. She smiled, the curl of her lips resembled that of a cat, and swung her legs off the edge of the recuperaplatform. The banging that echoed through the health ward made the taller wince. He looked back at the cat-like troll. Their eyes locked for a moment --well, eyes and sunglasses.

“Nepeta, you’ll reopen the wound if you continue,” Equius warned. Nepeta looked down at her knee and studied the bandage for a moment.

“Okay…” She sighed, defeated. Then she hopped off the recuperaplatform. At first she was a little wobbly from sitting for so long, but she soon regained balance. Nepeta stretched her legs a couple times, just to test the waters of her fixed up wound. “I sure apawciate you fixing up my knee, Equius! Now the fearless hunter can go afur her purray again, hehe!” She giggled and mimicked a cat catching a mouse.

Equius finished putting bandages away and looked back at his moirail. “Yes, but do be careful of that ridiculous horn pile. How that idiotic thing was allowed in here, I’ll never know.” Sweat started to gather on his skin, and his firsts shook slightly as they clenched the doors of the cupboard. The shingles on the doors broke, and the doors itself fell off. Nepeta sighed at the sight. Still, her moirail couldn’t control his strength --or his anger at Gamzee.

“Come on, Gamzee’s a furtastic troll once you get to know him! Look past the caste system for once and accept him for who he is!”

“B-but, he’s a highblood. And what does he do? He talks about ludicrous things! Miracles, faygo, and eats sopor slime! It’s an utter disgrace to his blood color! He associates himself with that rustblood, and who knows what he’s filling Gamzee’s brain with. It’s nonsense. Complete. Grubbish. Nonsense. I need a towel.” Equius walked to the other side of the room and pulled a white towel off a rack and dried his face and neck of the sweat that had gathered.

Tilting her head, Nepeta walked over to Equius and tugged on his hand. In response he turned around and arched an eyebrow. Nepeta gestured with her hands for him to put his head on her shoulder. Doing so, he sighed and let her do the familiar motion of running her fingers through his hair.

“There, there. Gamzee is perfect the way he is. Tavros is a pawsolutely wonderfurl troll. Please, Equius, don’t judge others because of their blood. If there’s any time for you to drop that pawfully mean attitude, it’s now. We’re all we’ve got left. We need all the furends we can get. Think about that, Equius.” Nepeta stopped petting his hair and separated herself from him. She gave him one soft look before grabbing her two-sizes-too-big-coat and threw it on. Then she left the health ward, leaving Equius alone.

He thought about what she said. Even with the cat references, he understood her. That was one part of their moirallegiance that he liked; their ability to understand one another. He understood the need she got when she larped, or when she hunted near her cave. In turn, she understood why his brain held such a prejudice view of their world. She understood his need to hold the caste system in such high regard. No, she didn’t agree with his views, but she knew why he needed it. But that capability to understand one another wasn’t his favorite part of their moirallegiance. How they looked after each other was.

They looked after each other. Equius knew when it was time to quit the larping. Nepeta knew when his racism was getting out of control. She helped him let out his strength, and he helped fix up any wounds she received. He kept her out of danger, she kept him from being alone. Their palemate-ship was shocking to others; her being a greenblood and him being a blueblood. She was just slightly above the rustbloods that he despised so much, and she thought he was a sweaty creep. Somehow, that moirallegiance worked.

Somewhere along the way, the two grew closer. Equius visited her, and she played with him. Through all her solar sweeps of larping, she could put up with his strength. They fought side-by-side in Sgrub, and now they worked side-by-side in The Veil. The palemate relationship that those two held dear was possibly growing into something more. Not those redrom feelings that Nepeta could totally see Terezi and Karkat have for one another. It wasn’t blackrom either, of course it wouldn’t be. It was something… bigger. Bigger than the quadrants couldn’t define. The kind of relationship two beings shared when they spent all their time together. The kind of relationship where two beings could accept everything about one another; the good and the bad. The kind of relationship where no matter what the odds, the two beings had each other’s backs.

The word was on the tip of Equius’s tongue. Something that one of those humans had told him. What was that word? …Oh yeah. It was friendship. Equius and Nepeta shared a friendship. They were best friends, possibly?

Drabble #2: Delicacies and Dresses

Series: Homestuck

Characters: Fem!Gamzee (Gamzii) and Kanaya

Words: 366

Inspired by Koko

“Are you sure I look alright?” Gamzii turned around in front of the mirror, a bit self-conscious of the dress she wore. It was a simple dress; strapless that was form fitting around the bust. The skirt filled out around the waist and stopped slightly above the knees. Gamzii’s sign bordered the edge of the skirt, the only sign of color on the whole ensemble. Kanaya had forced her into a pair of sensible heels. Not too big for the indigoblood to handle, seeing as how otherwise she’d trip with each step she took.

“Do not worry, you look divine,” Kanaya reassured. She stood behind Gamzii, admiring her work. Somehow she had managed to run a comb through the hair of the MiRaClE-drugged troll. So now Gamzii’s hair lay somewhat tame on her head. There was a white bow in her hair, a fresh one this time. Her usual one was dirty and stained with the slime she ate on a daily basis.

Gamzii looked over her shoulder at Kanaya with a shocked expression. She turned around and tried to cover herself the best she could with her arms. “Whoa motherfiretrucker, I didn’t know you were planning on dolling me up just to firetrucking eat me. That’s a sad as shit way to go!”

Shaking her head, Kanaya put her hands on Gamzii’s arms and rubbed them a bit, trying to comfort the other. She smiled, a motherly gesture, and said, “No, I said divine not delicious. You look magnificent, Gamzii.” The compliment made an indigo blush appear on the highblood’s cheeks.

“You sure know how to make a motherfiretrucker blush, Kan. Now let’s go get our groove on down on the dance floor!” Gamzii ran towards the door. Along the way she stumbled, but caught herself before she hit the floor. She pushed herself back and continued her way to the main room in The Veil. Kanaya followed, except in a more graceful fashion.

She was fashionably late, as always. Gamzii danced the night away at the small dance the twelve trolls decided to hold. Somehow her shoes ended up on Tavros, who turned out to be a dancing queen.

It was all incredibly stupid.

Cue the slow applause.

Drabble #3: DChiuch and Kismesissitude

Series: Homestuck with a dash of real life

Characters: Karkat, Eridan, and our very own Daniel

Words: 460

Warning, there is some strong language in this.

“WHAT THE firetruck IS WITH THIS GUY?” Karkat stared at the screen of his husktop. His eyes were wide with disbelief. The only thought that ran through his head was, “Was this human for real? SERIOUSLY?” Just looking at the pink and fleshy face on his screen made him want to chuck the husktop across the room. It’d land right on Gamzee’s head. The stupid firetrucker was only laying on the horn pile, not doing any work! He’d probably toss his pan of sopor pie into the air. Then it’d splatter the walls. It’d give the room some firetrucking color. All it was, was a hollow gray room for firetruck’s sake! Just walls, tables, husktops, and the firetrucking hornpile! Wait, no, getting off track! firetruck!

“Wwhat is wwith wwhat guy?” Oh great. Just. firetrucking. GREAT. Eridan, being the firetrucking creep that he is, was leaning over Karkat’s shoulder. His eyes squinted a bit over the top of his thick-rimmed glasses in order to see. “…Oh. Oh. That guy.”

“Yes, that guy. That one right there.” Karkat pointed to what he was looking at. Some human from a ‘Kingdom Hearts’ website. Whatever the firetruck Kingdom Hearts was. Probably some stupid human mating ritual or something. “This guy is a firetrucking asshole. He thinks he’s all that because he owns the firetrucking website. Just look at this…” There was a rapid typing of letters and the screen changed to a different page. Eridan leaned his head on the palm of his hand on the top of Karkat’s chair.

“I don’t knoww, he’s kinda hot,” Eridan started but continued when he saw the glare he was receiving, “For a human!”

“Apparently he forced the ‘mod’s of the firetrucking site to fill buckets with him just to they’d have the firetrucking power. That jackass. They’re barely, what? At least seven solar sweeps. firetrucking pervert,” Karkat couldn’t look at anymore of it. He closed the husktop lid and placed it on the table in front of him. He pushed himself out of the chair and decided to go banter off elsewhere. Most likely to Gamzee, who would try to get him to “MoThErfiretruckInG cHiLl” on the horn pile.

Eridan, raised an eyebrowand pursed his lips in though. He slipped into the chair and slowly took Karkat’s husktop into his hands. Opening the lid the screen lit up once again the page it was left on. He looked at the face. The human face in it’s pink and fleshy glory. Honestly, he didn’t look that bad. Sure, he lacked the beautiful gray skin tone of a troll, and the wonderful horns that were oh-so-delightful to stroke. But all-in-all, not a bad looker.

And little did Karkat know… DChiuch of KH13 was destined to become his kismesis.

Drabble #4: Snowy Days and Fairy Wings

Series: Homestuck

Characters: John Egbert and Vriska Serket

Words: 1,271

(Okay so this doesn't really count as a drabble but oh well)

John Egbert, now twenty years of age, sat in the coffee shop, sitting over his usual cup of coffee (with sugar, no cream). He let the aroma dance into his nostrils. The smell soothed him, as it always did those winter mornings. For years the game of Sburb had been over, with the kids as the victors. Since that time, he did his best to forget what happened. His father was alive and well to welcome him home, as did the parents/guardians of his friends. The welcome though... didn’t seem like a welcome back, more like the greetings he got when he came home from school.

Life passed by normally after Sburb. John expected there to be some new universe created, a universe where he and his friends would be gods. But, they liked the life they had before. Why change something that wasn’t broken? And they moved on. The events that happened in Sburb seemed to only be a dream as seven years passed. They moved on. They went through high school and dated the people around them. They kept in touch with each other, occasionally making plans to visit aAnd as John made his daily routine of going to the coffee shop and to the university where he studied video game production, he felt as though something were missing.

John lifted the cup to his lips and took a sip. The cup was empty after, and decided it was time to head to the university. He gathered his things, putting notebooks into his bag and slipped the coat he left hanging over his seat on. Then he put his gloves on and tightened the scarf around his neck, making sure he was warm enough to face the cold weather. After disposing of the empty styrofoam cup in the trash bin, he left the little shop.

Winter was a harsh mistress, John noted as he trudged down the crowded sidewalks. The wind pushed against him, making him slip on the ice below his feet a few times. Life wanted him to be late, it seemed. Eventually, though, he made it to the university with only a few minutes to spare. There were a few students outside that were either waiting for a friend or were running across campus to get to their desired building. John then shifted into a sprint and went to the Pulsegrand Hall for his seminar on mass communications. He’d take his usual seat near the back where he’d be free to be on his laptop and talk to Rose who’d be on at the time.

Upon arrival to the hall he noticed something was off. Someone was in his seat! In his usual seat was a girl with unruly, long, black hair. She wore casual clothing, only a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and a size-too-big dark blue jacket. And like John, she wore glasses. There was a seat open next to her, so he sat down there instead. He didn’t want to make a big scene over one seat. Besides, he was a bit later than usual, so he should’ve expected someone to take his seat. Still, he couldn’t shake off the feeling of irritation that dug at him.

John pulled out his laptop and opened up Pesterchum. Ah, Rose wasn’t online --weird. However, as a refreshing surprise Dave was. They were still bros. Still the cool one and the dork. John was about to pester him before the girl next to him spoke.

“John Egbert, ever the distracted one, aren’t you?” Her voice was a bit nasally, like she had a cold, and her tone was playfully harsh. There was something familiar about her that John couldn’t shake off.

“Excuse me, but how do you know my name? I don’t believe we ever talked before.” John said. He looked over to his laptop and opened a pester window for Dave and sent a few greetings.

“Oh, but I know all about you. I have my was of... persuasion to get information on you. It’s all simple, really,” the girl smiled. John looked at her with a suspicious expression, since nobody’s ever bothered to dig up information on him.

“Okay... but who are you? It’d only be fair that you told me your name, since you know mine.”

“Why did I have the feeling you’d play the ‘fair’ card? I must know you reeeeeeeeal well,” she giggled and put a finger to corner of her mouth for a second while she stared at John. “People call me Vrissy, so I suppoooooooose I should give that honor to you too.”

“Er... well gee, thanks! I guess? Vrissy’s a cool name,” John was confused when it came to talking to Vrissy. There was a familiar way in which she talked and exaggerated some of her words to they dragged out. Those speaking quirks of her’s, they were comforting. It made him want to talk to her more.

“Of course it is!” She whispered loudly now that the professor started lecturing, “Only someone like me can have such a fantastic and godly nickname, don’t you know that? Although I guess John is ‘cool’ too. Normal and common, but cool.” She twirled some of her hair around her finger, only for it to get stuck in the snarls. She tugged her finger free and there was a quick flash of panic on her face before it returned to it’s collected superior air.

They stayed silent after that. They listened to the professor ramble on and on about how communications is a very complicated and detailed science. John tried his best to take down notes, and occasionally chat to Dave. He looked at Vrissy occasionally, whom didn’t seem to be taking in any of the professor’s words. The class eventually ended, and the students were dismissed. John packed up his bags and turned to the familiar girl next to him.

“Odd, I don’t think I’ve seen you in this class before. You new?” John asked.

“Oh no, I’m just shadowing for the day, I have a... friend in this class,” Vrissy answered with a slight giggle in her tone.

“Oh really? Then why didn’t you sit with them?”

“But I did!” Vrissy looked surprised, as if she were expecting something.

John looked at her confused. He didn’t know how to respond to her. He never met her before, so how was he supposed to be her friend? Vrissy studied his look before looking down sullenly.

“I see,” she stood up and shoved her hands into her jean’s pockets, “Well John Egbert, I see now this trip was a waste of time.” Vrissy walked away. John noticed the sad tone and tried to go after her, but without turning around she yelled at him, “Stay where you are, Egderp! If I’d known you would’ve turned into this I never would’ve taken the risk! I never would’ve helped you through the game!” And then she was gone.

It all dawned on him. John understood who the girl was. “Vriska,” he called out, only to be answered by her name echoing through the lecture hall. The girl whom he thought would never return. The one from Sburb. The troll. The one that haunted his dreams with memories of snowy days and fairy wings. She came back for him, but now she was gone.

John left the hall and trudged through the freshly fallen snow. He looked up at the sky and saw something glittering in the sun. Squinting his eyes he saw sparkles; sparkles of fairy dust. Fairy dust and a snowy day.

Just like all those years ago.
