HD Collections are becoming all the rage this generation, and Capcom has apparently been listening to fans clamoring for some old-school Devil May Cry action. Today, the publisher announced the Devil May Cry HD Collection, which will come to both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The Devil May Cry HD Collection will include the original Devil May Cry, as well as Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening. It's due out in early 2012, will cost $39.99, and come included with Trophies on PS3 and Achievements on Xbox 360.
This weekend at Level-5 World 2011, the company announced that its long-delayed puzzle adventure game Mystery Room was returning with a new name, a new star, and coming to an entirely new platform.
The game, now known as Layton Brothers: Mystery Room, stars Professor Layton's son Alphendi Layton. He works as a detective for Scotland Yard's top investigative unit, alongside his rookie partner Lucy Creila.
Gameplay in Layton Brothers places an emphasis on solving crime-related mysteries. Players choose which crimes to investigate from a list of crime reports. As of now it is unknown if players will solve trademark Layton-style logic puzzles, or if the gameplay will feature more traditional video game puzzle-solving. The Japanese trailer:
The game was originally announced in 2009 as a Nintendo DS game known as Mystery Room. At that time, the title starred two detectives known as Poccho and Sly. Originally slated for a 2010 release, Level-5 delayed the game several times, and eventually stopped bringing it up entirely, until resurfacing as an iOS Professor Layton spinoff this weekend.
Many details regarding Layton Brothers remain murky, including a release date and a price, and why the game is called "Layton Brothers" when it appears to star only Hershel Layton's son. As of now there has also been no word on a English release.
IGN will bring you more details on Layton Brothers: Mystery Room as they become available.
