6) I have not read every single comic out there so i might be missing team but these are my personal picks.

25) Rogues

Most groups don’t kill any major characters but this group did by killing Bart Allen.This murder was one of the events that inspired the Suicide Squad to initiate the Salvation Project, simply depositing the worst super-criminals on another planet to fend for themselves.The Rogues were among the first sent there.They might not be best group in DCU but they will always be entertaining when they go up against the Flash.

 

 

24) Doom Patrol

Without them there would never have been the X-men.Doom Patrol is one most underrated super squad out there and it’s the place where Beast boy came from and when Grant Morrison wrote on this series which was a perfect fit for him with his crazy ideas for a crazy team.His run on this series is one of best he’s ever done which from writer who did All-Star Superman,Animal Man and Batman and Robin is almost better than any other writer out there.

 

23)Masters of Evil

“The Masters of Evil is one of the largest and longest-running alliances of super-villains in Marvel Universe history, led by assorted criminal masterminds and comprised of an ever-changing membership ranging from minor thugs to major menaces. It's history dates clear back to WWII. The Masters reached its apex under Baron Zemo who assembled the following baddies to sqaure off against the Avengers: Absorbing Man, Titania, Moonstone, Grey Gargoyle, Screaming Mimi, Yellowjacket, Blackout, Bulldozer, Fixer, Goliath, Mister Hyde, Piledriver, Thunderball, Tiger Shark, Wrecker, and Whirlwind. They nearly beat Hercules to death and forced Cap to watch them hand out a thrashing to faithful Avengers butler, Jarvis. The Masters of Evil has provided the nucleus from which the Thunderbolts were sprung.”

 

 

22)Brotherhood of Evil Mutants

“Besides the fact that the name conjurs an image of unionized bad guys, the Brotherhood was a formidible force against the X-Men. Assembled by Magneto, the team has gone through eleven roster changes. This team has become much more than the standard line-up with a goal of world domination; they've become a politically-powerful unit of social change. And that's where the real money is.”

 

 

21) Batman Inc

This group only been around for two years but with what Morrison and crew have been doing is creating an epic."So that's what Batman Inc. is about. It's about expanding the Batman universe and the Batman line and the Batman cast of characters." This team makes it look like that Batman does not even have to be with DC with all connection this man as.The team is one biggest on this list and Batman Inc does good job of giving them supporting character time to shine while working with Batman.

20)7 Evil Exes from Scott Pilgrim

Odd Choice i know and yes there not really super-villains but they are from comics so that’s good enough for me.A super-villian team usually does not change the hero of the story but they changed Scott Pilgrim who goes though life changes though the masterpiece that is the Scott Pilgrim series.Each ex as something that makes them interesting and there fights and interactions with Scott are great and it’s from an unforgettable series.

 

19)Extraordinary League of Gentlemen

“Extraordinary League of Gentlemen The League of Gentlemen broke the boundaries of what is a “superhero team.” Comprised of some of the most popular characters in literature, The League of Gentlemen was brought to us by superstar writer Alan Moore. Although they haven’t been around a long time and the book has been plagued with issues between Moore and DC, The Extraordinary League of Gentlemen is still a great comic book team.”

 

18)Secret Society of Super-Villains/Injustice Society/Legion of Doom (DC Villains)

Yes i am counting all of these DC villain groups.At a time i would say around half of villains in DCU have been in one of these groups in their life-time.They have put on good fight towards heros of DCU and usually make for entertaining stories.I would say they were done best in JLU where whole season was focused on them and did pretty good of being great tv and made for some great action.SSOSV is also loss to the Secret Six and Secret Six formed because of that group.

17)Sinister Six/ Sinister Syndicate

“Doctor Octopus organized former wall-crawler foes Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, Sandman, and the Vulture. Octavius' "foolproof plan" amounted to the kidnapping of Betty Brant and May Parker, which enraged the wall-crawler into fighting form. Unfortunately, the Six made the unfortunate decision to battle the web-head individually. Despite those flaws, Spider-Man has one of the best Rouges Galleries in comics history, and these are some of the best Web-Head baddies in the business. Good enough to make us look past the corny team name.”

16) Thunderbolts

 

“Under Green Goblin, the Thunderbolts team includes Songbird, Bullseye, Lady Deathstrike, Taskmaster, Venom, Moonstone, Radioactive Man, and Swordsman. What makes this team exceptional is that they're all registered under the Superhuman Registration Act, making them completely legal villains. They know what we here at Evil Inc have known for years: "You can do more evil when you do it legal."”

15)Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

If you did not know,Yes TMNT started out as comic then tv show then movies and so on and so fourth.Originally conceived by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird as a one-off parody, the comic's popularity has gone on to inspire a major pop culture franchise’s.It was really just parody of what going on at time in comics like Frank Miller’s DareDevil run.The turtles are indeed awesome and it’s not surprise how they become so popular.(The 80‘s series also had rocking theme song)There were much darker in comic form by the way and had some neat adventures.

14)Young Justice

True this group is not as famous as Teen Titans and group is no longer part the main DC line of comics but this group is still very entertaining and really is a group that’s going to be the next part of JL in their lifetime and building towards that goal.Young Justice at the moment is on high with there comic and show being better than Teen Titans and i would not be surprised if it continues.

13)Suicide Squad/Task Force X

Suicide Squad is an anti-hero team of incarcerated supervillains who act as deniable assets for the United States government, undertaking high-risk black ops missions in exchange for commuted prison sentences and work for Amanda Waller.What makes them great other than having Deadshot, having John Ostrander writing them and having them fight the Secret Six which is great crossover in comics.They are group that will put there lives on the line to get mission done while having great stories and being awesome with tons of action.They had there own episode on JLU which i enjoyed.

12)The Avengers (and all teams within the avengers)

In the last 15 years the Avengers have sky-rocketed in popularity mostly because of Bendis and the way he wrote the team to get tons of peoples attention.They also have tons of members in the group and have had fair share of good stories to boot.They also made great jumping on point for new readers with stories like Civil War.With the movie coming this year they will most likely be on peoples top 3 list.

 

 

11) Birds of Prey

The first of two Gail Simone groups to be on list and with good reason when she took over this group that she made it one best superhero team books money could buy.Like she did with the S6 she took group of 2nd to 3rd rate character and made them great and had such a great chemistry for the team especially between Huntress,Oracle and Black Canary.The series at been good with other writer but Gail proved that the females characters in DC are strong and deserve there own book.(They even fought the Secret Six which was fun)

10)Fantastic Four

“The Fantastic Four is the first of the superhero teams to bring about a real humanness to the genre. With real world problems surfacing in the comic, this first, “family” of superheroes has been an incredible force in comics.”

 

9)The Authority

“The Authority are one of the few superhero teams not from The Big Two, to make it onto the list. Although their might may have waned in recent years, The Authority is still ranked high on the list for how it has pushed the boundaries of comic books. The Authority is ultra violent, politically charged, and boasted the first openly gay couple. These items make The Authority controversial, talked about, and one of the top superhero teams of all time.”

 

8)Sinestro Corps

Out of all comic-book villain teams no team is quite as powerful as Sinestro Corps having Sinestro, once the greatest Green Lantern and now its most hated enemy to Hal Jordon, had armed himself with 7200 minions all charged with the power of fear. Then freeding Parallax on Kyle Rayner.Sinestro also recruited Cyborg-Superman and his army on Manhunters.He also busted Superboy-Prime out of prison. And on the final page of the issue showing off fierce’s of the Sinestro Corps , we learn that all of these villains were working for the universe-devouring Anti-Monitor who even had his was main villain in DC first main crossover event.No other villain group as been this dangerous and raise the streaks that high to create one damn fine event and story around them.

 

7)Green Lantern Corps

Currently operating divided as pairs amongst the 3600 “sectors” of the universe, over 7200 members.The GLC is the current biggest groups on list and have tons of unique characters ranging from Driq to Ch’p to Kilowog to so many more cool human and alien characters.Then tons of good stories and with all of the other Corps they have to fight there’s no doubt we will keep seeing new and old GL in the group.They have also been one of the most popular comics at DC thanks to Geoff Johns and others talented writers.

 

6)The Watchmen

Hailed as the greatest comic-book of all-time.The watchmen have some most interesting characters and well done characters ever written.The members of the team are so different from each other and so fleshed out.Characters like Ozymandias and Rorschach could have there own series.The writing of Watchmen is some of best writing you will see in superhero team comic but what do you expect out of Alan Moore."I did it 35 minutes ago."

5)Teen Titans

Why the Teen Titans are ranked so high on my list is simply by what they done in comics with Marv Wolfman in the 1980s started his on Teen Titans and made it one of most if not these most popular book at DC dealing with serious issue and had some greatest moments in DC Comics with Terra.Getting there t.v show helped get more fans for the series and as had good amount of great stories for this team.

 

4)Runaways

Brian K Vaughan is my favourite comic-book writer takes his own shot at teen superhero teams and it was great one.Six kids runaway from there parent after they find out there Super-villains and on the way to expose there parents they discover that they that some superpowers that led’s them to be superhero team.The series is charming and is a great comic for all-ages.BKV’s run was one best ideas out of Marvel in the last 10 years with a neat plot twist to end first BKV’s run with the series.

 

3)Justice League (all the team within JL)

If you’re a hero in DCU you will properly be in one of the MANY! justice league groups.Now why this group is highest rated DC superhero group on my list is simple.They have tons of great stories and characters that almost any other superhero group can’t touch.They have gone up against some of the best villains in comics,got one killer show and are the most successful comic in the new 52.The scope of group is one of biggest out there and with almost groups within groups being great and chemistry between any of them is always been great.

2) X-men (All the teams within the X-men)

What makes X-men so good is range of characters that can appeal to everyone and they are Marvels biggest series.There’s over 30 great X-men characters and tons of great X-men stories but the teams are great with Astonishing X-Men,Uncanny X-men.X-Force,X-Factor,Wolverine group there’s so much depth that it could be by itself.The X-men group also has great message to it dealing with the idea of racism.The X-men are best superhero team at Marvel with whoever is in the group.

1) Secret Six

Yes MarluXia and everyone else you might be thinking am i actually saying the Secret Six is better than JL,Avengers,X-Men and Fantastic Four and everyone else i would say Heck Ya they are.The Secret Six is the best group that ever was produced.The Secret Six would sell each other out for 100$ but in the end they would put there lives on line to save each other like a family would.They might be bunch of 2nd and 3rd rate characters who people though were just jokes like Catman and Ragdoll but Gail Simone proved other wise and made these great characters.She took Bane a character that became a forgotten waste and made him great again even better than he was in Knightfall and taking her own creations like Jeannette and Scandal Savage and made them have a following.Many comic book team end on sour notes where it did not live up to the what the group is or goes on too long but the Six ended on #36 where they were going to kill Batman’s closes friends when the heros found out about this they sent almost every hero in DCU to fight them.You what Secret Six did knowing they were going to lose and had no shot in hell to beat them.They fought them and ended in Butch and Sundance style.What more could you ask from them and Gail.A lot superhero/villain teams have had bad stories in them but not the Secret Six they have not.Secret Six is one best comic series i have ever read and they are just awesome and they have better chemistry than any other super team.There’s nothing quite as Epic or enjoyable or as funny as the Secret Six.If you only read one comicbook squad it should be the Secret Six and since it’s over you have no reason not read them.
