The Thorned Feather (1x1 with echo)

Posted

Long before the human race's existence, two species roamed the Earth - the civilized Angels and the feral Kaiku. These once harmonious species have been in an ongoing war for hundreds of years, neither willing to back down. Two Prisoners, each on opposing sides, are the only ones who can find out why the mess has begun, and end it.

Rules:

This is a 1x1 rp with echo and I: No. Touchy.

Angels- Creatures gifted with magic that each have their own special ability, their appearance depends on their rank. Angels with black to grey wings are lower class and are the first to be put into battle, Angels with brightly colored or white wings are higher class and get speciel training usually becoming generals.

Kaiku- Creatures that are one with the forest, not only in home, but in blood as well. As seen, the would be considered Cat and Plant hybrids. They are often walking on two feet - err...paws.. - but not always, and not when they are young. They are generally peaceful creatures equipped with sharp teeth and claws as well as a sharp thorn on the end of their tails.

Name: Miila

Age: 15 (I realize this is war, but this is also before human existence, and if you can kill something, which an adolescent feline can then it's fine)

Race: Kaiku

Weapon: Natural claws, teeth, and tail thorn

Personality: Distractable, loving, protective, often calm, but not always.

Appearance:

Optional Added note: Orphan, Wears an amulet around her neck and cannot seem to bear parting with it. It is the only thing she has left of her family (and it will have more plot later on), Also has had her memory washed, and can't remember a thing about the amulet, but still can't seem to let go of it.

Miila, a prisoner to the Angels, and a proud huntress of the Kaiku, lays weakly at the floor of her cell. She gets up slowly, glaring angrily at the iron bars, thinking of how to escape. She walks backwards until her wounded back touches the stone wall, causing her to wince in pain. Her thorned tail flicks furiously and the fern leaves around her neck flare. She runs toward the bars, and she stumbles, falling to her knees. Miila looks back up to the bars. All she wanted to do was escape. She didn't know what she was escaping from and yet it was the only thing on her mind. The only thing.

Hikaru waited patiently leaning against the side of the cell wall. He looked around and blinked trying to figure out how he got there. Then a cat-like person walked up to him and motioned for himto put his hands through the bars. Hikary complied and shakles were clasped tightly around his wrist. He smirked, Do they really think this is all it takes to hold me? He wondered looking around, then he spotted the moonlight pouring through the small window in the cell. " Perfect." He whispered somehow remembering he had magic. Now the only thing he had to do was wait for the guards that seemed to be transporting him somewhere else.

Miila crawled over to the bars and grasped them to get up. That was when she found that the bars were not iron, but wood, simply painted gray to fool the prisoner. she smirked and went through her pockets to take out something round. The guards outside turned and interrogated her, asking her what it was, and how she got it. By the feel of it, it was from the forest. The smell, toxic to most. Not Kaiku, though. How she got it was a mystery to her, but she seemed to know it's purpose. She tossed it a few times and threw it through the bars, which made it let out a puff of toxic gas, making the angel guards faint. She thought quickly while the gas still masked her escape. She clawed at the wood and used her thorned tail to saw through it. When the asking gas drifted away, she stepped out and looked at the guards. The gas had been killing them slowly, drawing blood to their airway, making them die of bloodloss and suffocation "Nighty Night..." she said with a smirk and exited the prison.

Hikaru closed his eyes after hearing footsteps coming towards his cell. As they stepped up to the bars a white flash of light filled the room. Hikaru opened his eyes and all the guards but one were lying motionless on the floor. " You are going to unlock these shackels, and let me out." He said in a calm voice. " Now." The terrified guard quickly unlocked one of his wrists and the door, but before he could unlock the other wrist the guard was on the floor with the rest of them. Hikaru quietly stepped out of the cell and walked outof the prision like he owned the place, he only hid his hand that still had the shakles attached. " I probably should have let him unlock this..." He murmmered as he walked away from the choas stricken prision.

Miila suddenly stopped in her tracks. One of the angels was behind her, high in rank. High though she may have been, this one was cruel. The angel put her arm around Miila's shoulders and with her free hand, dug her nails into the wound on her back. Miila winced in pain. It was excruciatingly painful, just a simple slash on her back. Whenever it was touched, her entire body quivered in pain. "Let...me...go!" she whispered weakly. "Don't worry, dear, I'm in the process of doing so.." the angel woman replied, bringing her to the edge to look down. The angels lived on a floating Island, not too high from the ground, but a far enough distance to hurt. What Miila was looking at down below was a whole lot of water. The woman kept her fingers in Miila's reopened wound and pushed her off. Miila was falling. Falling fast enough that Miila gave up and closed her eyes. When she hit the water, she couldn't swim due to her currrent weakness. What she didn't know was that she's fallen into the lake beside the forest. The forest of the Kaiku. All in the tree village would have seen something fall from the angel's island and into the lake.

Hikaru looked around finding himself in a dense forest. " How convenient." He muttered sarcastically. His attention was drawn to the sky as a figure fell from some sort of floating island. He wondered if the figure survived if they might be able to unloack his restraints. He looked down at his shackled wrist in annoyance then started off toward the lake that the creature had landed in. He spread out his wings that he was slightly suprised to discover and hovered over the water where the fallen creature had landed. Hikaru took a deep breath then dived in only having to swim down a short while before grabbing the collar of what looked like a cat's shirt. He used his wings to launch himself back up out of the water and lifted the cat-like person up over his shoulder. " Rough day huh?" He asked himself flying as gently as he could back to the shore of the lake.

Miila began to breath steadily and her ears twitched once and a while before she opened her eyes. When she did so, she sat up and backed away slightly from the winged man. She didn't know what he was, but she knew that she didn't like them. She patted her pouches to see if she had any more of the gas things. She was out. She'd used the rest on the guards, and now didn't know what to do. It was a stranger, who apparently took her out of the lake. Her stance relaxes a bit, but her face still conveyed caution.

Hikaru looked at the girl curiously. " I didn't mean to startle you, but I am in need of assistance." He said slightly embarrassed as he showed her his chained wrists. " I saw you fall and you were the only thing I've seen that isn't set on killing me." He chuckled a little at the last part. Hikaru tried to make himself look friendly by folding his wings behind his back and sitting cross-legged on the ground, his hands infront of him. " You took quite a fall." He commented wondering if she had hit her head on something.

Miila scooched a bit closer, examining the shackle's lock. It's internal design was familiar to her, and yet it seemed as if she'd ever seen it before. She looked at it closely. It was meant for claws, it seemed, which she had only just discovered that she had in the first place. She lets out her rounded claws and picks the lock for it, her eyes wide in thought, and her tail flicking about. "People are after you as well?" she asks, finally willing to speak.

Hikaru watched her work and nodded. " Ya, it was weird i woke up in an old cell and i couldn't remeber how i got there or who i was." He said softly looking around to make sure the guards hadn't followed him here. " Its weird they look just like you i thought you were one of them but you fells out of nowhere, so that told me otherwise haha" He said nervously looking back at his wrists.

Miila waited until the lock made a small click and gently let the shackle fall into her hand. "The people up there, they had me locked up. They looked like you as well." she said, pointing up to the floating island "The woman with white wings pushed me off of there. She also gave me this." she turned around to reveal the reopened scars on her back "You are not a cruel as she."

Hikaru quickly rubbed the slight marks from his wrist and looked at the girl's back. " Thats quite a scratch you got here." He said while ripping off the bottom half of his shirt to use for a bandage. " Here," He said as warning at his tried to be gentle while wrapping it around her to cover the wound. " White wings huh?" His mind flashed to his own coal black wings. " I think more is going on hee than meets the eye." He mummbled while tyeing off the make-shift bandage.

Miila's ears twitchs slightly when the bandage was tied off, but she smiles with a grateful nod "Thank you very much." she thinks back "She was the only one that didn't fall down from the little toxic spheres. I wonder is she's immune." she stands and brushes off "I'm Miila. What's your name?" She smiles slightly, thinking hard about the name that she'd almost forgotten.

Toxic spheres? Hikaru wondered but shrugged off the thought. " Names Hikaru." He said automatically holding out his hand for her to shake. " Umm by the way do you happen to know where we are?" He asked chuckling before he looked around the unfamiliar forest. Everything was too close together forcing him to keep his wings tight to his back. I don't like this place. He decided after he finished his sweep of the area.

Miila smiled and shook the hand, having slight trouble, since she had paws instead of hands. "I have not clue where we are, Al I know is that I was in a cage, and got dropped down here. She joined him in his observing. She was rater fond of the forest. It let off a sort of comforting feeling.

She didn't know why, but she felt...connected to it, somehow.
