Jeff Lemire taking over Justice League Dark

Posted

Now i have talked about Jeff Lemire fair bit on this site.If you don't know who he is he's Canadian comic book writer and artist for DC comics. He writes on Animal Man(which one best comics at Dc),Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E. and works with Vertigo a dc imprint for Sweet Tooth(which only first trade but i found it enjoyable) which he writes and draws for. Rumours have indicated that it may be a Batman tie-in book called The Robins."A lot of people have been asking about upcoming DC projects," the writer said on Twitter. The Robins is rumored to star current and former Boy Wonders Tim Drake, Jason Todd, Damien Wayne and Dick Grayson, although no mention has been made of Stephanie Brown. What do you think of news?

I hope it's not focusing on those characters since most of them have had own series or star in one in the Dc reboot.I will update story when he announces what it is.I would love it to be a new Vertigo title. It also makes me wonder if he's going to stop writing one of his comics since he currently working 4 comics at moment.

Update: Jeff Lemire will start writing Justice League Dark at #9

so whats the deal with animal man?

I just going explain his new history because explaining Grant Morrison will confuse you.

He's human and is married and has two kids.

"Buddy can mimic any abilities of any animal as a result of his encounter with a crashed alien spacecaft which has now been changed to the rod i think. He does this by either focusing on a specific animal near him, or, as he learned later, by drawing power from the animal kingdom in general" (this enables him to even mimic animals that are extinct). and his comic is horror/family comic. It's pretty sweet comic.

Update on the story: from Newsarama

Peter Milligan is leaving behind Justice League Dark after writing eight issues, including a crossover with Joshua Hale Fialkov's I, Vampire. Taking over for Milligan as writer is a scribe who is no stranger to the darker side of the DC New 52, Jeff Lemire. Lemire is also the current writer of Animal Man, another title from the "dark" family of the New 52.

Announced Tuesday morning on the DC Comics blog The Source, Lemire takes over with May 2012's Justice League Dark #9. He told the blog of the gig, "This is my dream gig at DC Comics, no doubt about it. The characters in Justice League Dark are my absolute favorite in the DC Comics stable, and I can’t believe I’m actually getting a chance to write John Constantine, Zatanna and Deadman (as well as a few new team members!)."

As for changes, Lemire promises more Constantine, as the mage becomes the "clear leader" of the team, and hints that the new team members will include both a male and a female, one magic-using, one not. He also says he wants to connect the book a little closer to its namesake.

"One of the things I’m anxious to explore is just why the name “Justice League” is in the title of this book. I want to explore and create new connections between this team of mystical misfits and Geoff and Jim’s big guns in the Justice League. On that note, Geoff and I have had many discussions on how to link our two books and make the Justice League franchises connect in new and unexpected ways."

Current artist Mikel Janin will be staying with the title.

My Opinion: Justice League Dark art by Janin is great and writing was fine just slow paced and i've only read first 3 issue of the series. With Jeff on series i will be picking up issue when he starts writing on it and could be one best books at dc.

Here some bonus
