So, in a forum post that Keystrike made, he proposed a very good theory on how the Mysterious Figure can time travel. My theory is sort of based off his but takes a different turn. In his anti-projection theory he said that the Realm of Dreams is a mirror image of reality. What i think is that it's not a shadow or mirror image of reality but it's own reality in and of itself. See, what keystrike said was that you can look at the realms of Kingdom Hearts as a triangle the bottom being the Realm of Light and the sides being the Realm of Darkness. And if you think of it as a diamond, the bottom half would be the Realm of Dreams and both halves lead to Kingdom Hearts. My theory works a different way......it shows the Realm of Dreams being a sort of byproduct of things that have happened in other games.
This theory works in a little less confusing way to Keystrike's theory does. Lets pin my theory to start at a certain period in time in the KH series. Lets say it starts after BBS, when Ventus is sleeping and Aqua is in the Realm of Darkness. Lets say the Realm of Dreams makes a little hiccup in the KH universe when Ventus is sleeping. It's something created by accident when Ventus is put to sleep and is somewhere where he resides until he's awakened. A sort of incubator if you want to call it that. Then a world is put to sleep......Which makes the Realm of Dreams grow. Slowly and slowly more worlds get mixed into Ventus' false reality while he's sleeping, making the Realm of Dreams it's own reality as a byproduct of past events.
Now, this theory isn't just about the Realm of Dreams but also the Mysterious Figure's time-traveling abilities. I think he can time travel not in the reality of the Realm of light and Darkness but only in the Realm of Dreams. Maybe he has been to those worlds therefore he can time travel in this second reality. He is the master of this domain and that gives him the power to control time in this Realm. Release the worlds in this realm from sleep and the Mysterious Figure is removed from this Second Reality and he loses this power of time travel and it goes back to being just a shimmer of existence. My theory may not be as heavily weighted as Keystrike's but i still had to get it out there
