Chapter 1

"Remembrance"

It started that night. Satoshi was sitting in his bed like always, talking to his friends and playing video games and listening to music. After he was done that he would study. He was like any normal Japanese 16-year old. He was shy, he liked anime, he read manga, he liked girls. He was what you could call average, even if he was smart. Except for one thing. When he was 4 his parents both disappeared. Some people he knew said they were killed and some said they just disappeared. "I'm bored!" Satoshi said. Satoshi was always known to get bored. Tokyo was a huge city and it was easy to get lost. He also didn't want to look odd in the crowd. His nice blue hair, blue eyes, and nice black shirt stood out in the metropolis that is Tokyo. Sometimes when he was bored he would play video games or write essays, or even go outside to the stores close to by him. Today he was going to do just that, until night bloomed. A mysterious voice came from the shadows. It's words were chilling, each word was different, but each one was the same in the fact that it made no sense, at least at the time.

"You want to know the truth?"

"Do you want to remember?"

"Do you want to have power, are you scared?"

"Let your fears, your worries, everything become your strength!"

That is what the voice would say. To Satoshi it sounded eerily familiar, but he didn't quite remember where he heard this voice before. Little did he know of what was to happen next. He ignored it and went to sleep. He was too haunted by the voice to write, and he was not in the mode to play video games. When he woke up he dressed in his uniform and got himself ready. Waking up at 6 AM was normal for him. He had his own apartment and he wasn't loud. For breakfast he made a whole assortment of dishes from rice, to some nice morning ramen. He would make himself coffee and tea each morning. This helped wake him up each morning. By 7:15, he was out the door. School was good for Satoshi. It's usually the only way he has a social life. In the morning he was greeted by Hisako, a girl he likes. He was always dazed by her beautiful, straightened black hair, beautiful black eyes, and her smile. She's 16, like him. He never had the chance to talk to her. His other friends talk to him every day when they get time. His friends are around his age. Usually they talk about things that most Japanese teens talk about. All was well, but then he came home. At first everything was normal. He made himself some tea and ate some food that he bought from the store. Then, the voice came back. This time it said more. It said that Satoshi can redeem everything if he gives up a part of him. He talked about memories and remembrance. Satoshi started screaming and crying. The voice wouldn't leave him alone no matter what. He knew the voice, but couldn't remember who's it was. His memories flashed back while he cried until he just collapsed. This was beginning to ruin his life. But now, came his remembrance. In his dreams, he noticed something very familiar. He knew what it was and was in shock when he saw it. There the voice took form, but it was not who he expected.

Chapter 2

"Depression upon Realization"

"What the, where am I? It's so dark in here. Did I die?" asked Satoshi, who was worried. It seems he is experiencing something vivid.

"Is anyone here, or is this the end of my life? Nothingness, just where I belong." Satoshi asked yet again until finally his question was answered. What he saw would make anyone lose their mind. He saw himself, but it was less "him" and more "dark and empty". His "dark self" looked at him. By looking at him you would know this was not him. He had pure red eyes with red irises and dark pupils, purple hair, a darker voice, and looked much less filled with life, and more emotionless and empty, like an empty husk who's form was given by someone, in this case Satoshi. He talked and heard a question. The question made as much sense as what he was seeing and the dream, no sense at all.

"Are you scared? Scared of what lurks inside you? Scared of what could possibly be within everyone? It is a normal reaction for such pitiful human beings. None of you want to accept that you've done bad, thought badly, or have been angry. Yet you humans display it almost every day. But now, you see me and the fear in your eyes grow, because as a regular person, you cannot accept that your sorrow could take form. Pitiful indeed" says this dark Satoshi as he lets out a laugh. Satoshi cannot believe the realism of the dream, he asks him a question that cannot be answered normally. "Who are you? Why do you look like me? Why are you inside of me? Answer me!" It answers.

"Like I said before. I'm what's always been within you. You're the only human being who can see me. You're the only one who can see the form of your emotions. Everyone else who's dreamt of this has died. The shock kills them. Such poor pathetic people, can't even accept. I would rather be emotionless than try to fight back what's already been proven. You cannot resist me Satoshi! You, like all humans have thought bad thoughts, have been angry, have cried, have issues trusting, go against and rebel. It's all human nature! Sadly, in the real world most humans do not have pure hearts, and those who do have been hurt time and time again, causing them to cry and become sad, fall into a depression upon realization. Those tears that form inside your heart are your depression upon realization This is sadly harsh reality children! But now that I've answered your question, I'd recommend you sit down, shut up, and listen to why I brought you here. You see I called you here to tell you something very important. You have powers. If you can see me without dying, then you can face the truth. Look, you have the power to literally change the past, present, and future, just by being you. You can go within time, break through space and defy the rules of reality. That is because within you lies the power of a mysterious tome, the Time Symphony Chronicles!"

Satoshi answers him back, in shock, he still doesn't believe it. "You're just a dream. Yeah, I'm really sure I can control time and space. Me out of all people, what is this a joke? What kind of dream is this? What's next, you're gonna tell me I'm in an alternate dimension and there's an older hero me with a weird name and a younger me that goes to school? Let me guess, soon you'll also say I have a scythe and there's an academy just for people like me and you'll be my partner?" a very sarcastic and rude reply from Satoshi, yet filled with references.

"Ohh... Very funny Satoshi. I get the reference. But enough with your talk of anime. This power is important. I do not yet know why you possess it, but I do know you're in danger. You see, a group has appeared. They call themselves the Recreators. They come in different classes. The higher-ups are known as Dimension Historia, the best members are known as the Recreators. They must be stopped, what they want to do is experiment with the literal balance of our world. They have your power. They extracted that power. That night... The night all changed and the world started to change as the winds got heavier. That day... I cannot explain..." said Dark Satoshi regrettably

"Huh? You're being serious!" realized Satoshi in shock.

"Yes, right now we are within your soul. Before I give you your consciousness back, let me show you this. Look, do you see. All of those emotions taking human form, they're all the emotions being turned to sadness. You must help them. I may be your darkness, your anger. But I will not lie, I must explain the truth. You will realize how special you really are. Tomorrow, I shall return and then you may finally see with your own eyes the power that you hold within you."

"Wow... What is this? Is this my descent? My drop into sadness? I feel so sad, happy, and angry at the same time. Why is this?" asked Satoshi, who was curious about what is within him.

"That I cannot explain, for you still must learn more. One day you will truly and finally understand who and what you really are. For now, you must learn. Educate yourself in many ways. Push yourself to succeed. The more you fail, the more you'll learn to stand back up and reclaim what was once yours. The more you lose, the more you earn and gain, as you learn to deal with life and what it may give, Learn to trust, just because you met more enemies than friends, does not mean that you do not have a true friend. A true friend will always be there for you, just like you'll be there for them. It isn't the amount of friends you have, it is the qualities of the friend. They're feelings, they're caring. The beauty within them. You have yet to understand. Sometimes you just meet enemies. It happens. Let yourself in and let them in. Learn to smile and be social. Learn to be honest, tell your friends that they are good and tell them how you think of them. Learn that's it's alright to cry. Learn to forgive and forget, learn to accept and expect the unexpected. Accept that you cannot live forever. These are lessons you cannot understand because you do not yet know how to handle it. You're like a fish out of water. It's sad. Even I, one void of any emotion can understand more. If you cannot understand, how can you say you were ever prepared for life's many challenges and life's questions and answers. This is your depression upon realization." says Dark Satoshi.

"But, I have friends. I trust! YOU CAN'T TELL ME THIS! YOU DON'T KNOW ME! (*cries*) WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME! ANSWER ME, YOU FAKE!" yells Satoshi. The anger growing within him.

"(*laughs*) And this is what I meant. Sadly, I am you and you're me. I'm your inner self. I am no fake. I may even be more realer than you in some ways. I cannot continue to answer your questions if all they will contain is rage. What a pitiful child. So sad, I can see your future. Since you've accepted nothing you must be proven of yours and my powers. Time to wake up Satoshi! If you cannot believe, then I must show you our powers in a way you wouldn't want to see it. Sorry, but you must suffer in order to learn this lesson."

"Wait! COME BACK! NO! NO! NO! I STILL HAVE MORE QUESTIONS TO ASK YOU!" Satoshi screams

"What the hell?! Why am I on the floor? What happened?" says a confused Satoshi.

(Satoshi looks outside the window. As usual, Tokyo is crowded with many people and buildings even in the night time with rain and thunder everywhere. All is going back to normal until he hears a knock on his door. Satoshi wonders who it is, first he had to go through a very strange event and now this? Usually no one visits him, so who could this be?)

"Who is it?"

"Detectives, please let us in!"

("What?! What did I do?!" Satoshi stammers and opens the door)

"Hello! I think you have the wrong apartment..." Satoshi didn't even have time to finish his sentence until he was interrupted.

"I think we have the right place. We need to ask you some questions. You see, a few hours ago after school was dismissed, we found the body of a 16-year old girl, Hisako Misagawa, who goes to the same school as you, dead a few streets near her home. It is thought that she was murdered a little after an hour of school being dismissed. Do you know her?"

"What? You mean my best friend Hisako? She was killed... By who? How? What was the cause of her death? We were good friends..." Says a confused, scared, sad, and panicked Satoshi. He also couldn't believe he had been asleep for this long.

"Sadly, we won't find out until tomorrow once her autopsy report comes in. Do you know what she was doing today before she was killed? We tried to contact her parents, but we couldn't find them."

"No! I remember saying hello to her and talking to her for a bit. Then we went home. I don't live near her, so I wouldn't know. The last thing she said to me was good morning. I can't believe my friend is dead. This can't be real? (*cries*)" Satoshi was crying now.

"Since we see that you cared for her we will give you support. Here's some numbers and if you'd like you can say goodbye to her since we were not able to locate her parents. Goodbye for now and I hope you get better."

"I didn't understand at first, but then I remembered what he said. He said I'd have to suffer to learn. So, this isn't a dream? He controls reality and so do I? Can I save her by changing the past if these powers exist? I think I'll ask him tomorrow." Satoshi couldn't imagine his beautiful, nice friend dead. Not just dead, but murdered as well.
