Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Point being that your heart is a victim to the Darkness if you don't stop hiding behind your shell," Riku said, putting it bluntly. "Been there, and it nearly killed me. I doubt that's a fate you rea

Lightning perked up when Riku was close and whispering in her ear like earlier. Only this time, the message was different. It took her a moment to actually take in the words. "...I thought I already had you," she muttered, turning her head slightly so that she could see him better.

Riku smiled crookedly, his nose touching Lightning's cheek since she turned her head. "You always have," he told her softly, then pressing a kiss to her cheek. "Trust me." From the moment he met her, Riku was Lightning's. She was just...Lightning. She was different; brave and strong and intelligent and independent, and just...Lightning. That was all she ever needed to be.

Lightning blushed at the kiss on her cheek. It felt so good to be treated like this again..."Then I guess I'll keep you," she muttered, closing her eyes as she took in Riku's close proximity. He...wanted to be in a relationship with her, and she wanted to be in one with him. She didn't think that was a question, but apparently it was.

"Hm," Riku hummed against Lightning's skin, placing another kiss to her cheek before moving to her jaw, and then her neck. Well, since he had permission to kiss her, he was going to take advantage of it. She wanted a date night, so she would get it, along with all its perks.

Light's cheeks turned bright red with Riku's newest action. Alright, when she said she missed affection, she didn't mean it quite like this. "You're embarrassing me," she murmured shyly. She wasn't used to being treated like this at all.

"I won't when you get used to it," Riku murmured, pressing another kiss to Lightning's skin before he looked to her. She needed to stop being so embarrassed by his affection. She would get used to it over time. Riku would make sure she was comfortable with it soon.

Light's blush remained as she sank deeper into the beanbag chair. Riku made it seem like he wasn't going to stop, so she would just need to focus on something else to keep herself from melting in embarrassment. She stared ahead at the movie, trying to focus on that instead.

Riku only smirked when Lightning ignored him, so he would physically grab her attention. He lifted his hand, lightly touching her chin and turning her face toward his. She was on a date with him, not Thor or Captain America. Riku was a different kind of hero, and he hoped that was good enough.

Light swallowed in nervousness, lifting her gaze only to Riku's lips when she faced him. She should have expected that he wouldn't let her off the hook so easily. He liked this, didn't he? Seeing her less composed and stoic than usual--He seemed to love putting her in positions like this that made her blush and become shy instead of bold and confident.

Riku looked from Lightning's lips to her eyes. "...I want to kiss you," he whispered lowly. This brought back the memory of their first kiss, when they woke up after first arriving at Disney Castle. He asked for permission to kiss Lightning, and she granted it. Would she do the same now?

Lightning dared to lift her eyes to Riku, though she only held his gaze for a millisecond. "You just were kissing me," she muttered in return. As soon as she said those words, she knew she said the wrong thing. But she was so unused to romantic situations that she didn't initially understand what Riku was saying.

Riku smiled more, revealing his teeth slightly. "Wrong answer," he told her, letting his thumb trace her bottom lip before returning to her chin. Lightning knew what she was supposed to have said, but Riku wouldn't push it. He was embarrassing her again. He was getting good at that.

Light looked down, briefly following Riku's motion with her eyes. But then...she leaned forward slowly, her eyes almost closed as she came closer to Riku's lips. He wanted a response from her, so this was what he was getting: her taking a step towards a kiss.

Riku moved his hand from Lightning's chin to the side of her head, his fingers going into her hair as his lips finally met hers. He kept the kiss gentle, even if being this close ignited a flame within him. How long had it been since he kissed her? A few weeks, maybe? All he knew was that it was too long.

Light slowly lifted a hand, setting it on Riku's shoulder as they kissed. They had shared kisses in the past, but it had been so long that she forgot what it was like. Those thoughts made her...sad. They missed out for so long just because of misunderstandings and trauma.

Riku kissed Lightning for what felt like hours, even if it was only a few minutes. He pulled back so they could breathe, his eyes remaining closed as he smiled to himself. "Sorry," he apologized again, "for not doing that sooner." He should have done it when he admitted that he needed her, more than anyone. He should have done it in the corner of that stupid library.

Lightning was bright red and breathless--too much to reply to Riku's words. All she gave him was a slight hum as she held onto his shoulder tightly. That was...intense. It was a gentle kiss, but Lightning, who often dulled her own emotions so she could focus on being rational and logical, was overwhelmed by the emotions that came with that kiss and that they refused to be dimmed.

At that hum, Riku leaned forward and pecked Lightning lightly on the lips again. When he retreated, he finally opened his eyes and gazed at her. He could feel the heat radiating from her cheeks, which triggered a smile. She liked it...his affection. And she liked him, a lot. That was good. More than good.

Lightning opened her eyes after the peck, and her eyes found Riku's. Shy as she was feeling, she couldn't tear her eyes away from his right then. There was a look of sincerity in them that she missed, along with an expression that said he was completely open with her and not keeping secrets. It felt good to finally see Riku unguarded with her again.

"...I guess this means I can call you my girlfriend?" Riku checked softly, running his thumb over Lightning's pink hair. He imagined so, and he was sure her sister would approve. If he remembered correctly, Serah was trying to put them in quite a few romantic positions in Neverland.

Light looked at Riku and silently nodded, though she was careful not to force Riku to take his hand away from her hair. Yes, he could call her his girlfriend. She was proud to be associated with a person like Riku, who was so courageous, loyal, and brave. Without him, she would have died a long time ago, and that was no exaggeration.

Riku smiled again, both relieved and happy to see Lightning's approval. "C'mere," he murmured, bringing her closer and kissing her again. Now that he could, he was going to make up for all the days that he didn't recently. He deprived her of affection she deserved.

Lightning automatically shut her eyes at this third kiss. The only reason why she loosened her grip on Riku's shoulder was so that she could wrap that arm around him more. She gripped the back of his shirt with that hand, wanting to keep him close forever.

Riku deepened the kiss when Lightning pulled him close, feeling the grip she had on the back of his shirt. She was embarrassed before, but she definitely wasn't now. Riku fought the urge to smile at that realization, continuing to kiss the girl before him while the movie played on. He didn't care about the film, or anything else really. All he cared about was the girl in his arms.

Just when the embarrassment began to fade, Lightning had another reason to suddenly feel that way. The door suddenly burst open and light poured into the room, revealing a position Light was never caught in before. She released Riku's shirt and completely pulled away, her startled eyes landing on the person who was grinning in the doorway. Sora.
