Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Lightning looked in the direction of Riku's hand, though she still wouldn't look at his eyes. He had logical points, but naturally she was still concerned. She almost asked what would happen if they just shot her when they saw her, but she knew the answer to that. Riku would protect her. He'd always protect her...

"I'll be there, okay?" Riku assured the girl before him, squeezing her hand in his grasp. "When we get there, we'll go to them. It'll only be worse if it's the other way around." If they turned themselves in, the cops had to consider their side of the case. No murderer ever turned themselves in, as far as Riku could remember. They were innocent; they shouldn't have been running scared.

After a few moments, Lightning nodded slightly. She had to go back...That was Serah's home. And she promised not to uproot Serah again after what happened in Bodhum. She'd go home, turn eighteen and then live with Serah again as her legal guardian. But to do that, she had to return.

Riku smiled faintly at the nod, doing so himself. "Okay," he said softly, lowering his hand from the side of Lightning's head. They were going home, then. As far as he knew, everyone was going except for Aqua and Ventus.

Lightning and Riku told everyone that they'd come home too--Well, Riku told them; Lightning just stood there while he explained everything. Despite his reassurance, her concerns still remained. Life hadn't been fair to her so far, so why should it start now? Everyone decided to go to bed to rest up, since they wanted to leave in the morning. Lightning also went to bed, though she was wide awake in her room. As if she'd sleep when she had so much nervousness.

It had been at least an hour since everyone settled down for bed, but Riku was still wide awake. All he could do was stare at the ceiling of his room, wondering what the next day would bring. Of course, he wasn't the only one nervous for the next day; Lightning was too. Just the thought of her had his stomach in knots, but in a good way. He missed her, even if she was just down the hall. Hopefully she was resting, but if he knew her like he thought he did, she was awake too. Riku pushed himself up from his bed and walked out of his room and down the hall in only lounge pants, standing in front of Lightning's room. One she shared with Serah. Regardless, he knocked faintly against the wood. If she was still awake, she'd answer.

Since Serah was sleeping, Lightning didn't audibly respond to the knock. Instead, she crawled out of bed and walked over towards the door, opening it quietly to reveal the person on the other side. She wasn't sure who she had been expecting, but seeing Riku was almost a surprise. She figured he'd be asleep.

Riku gazed at Lightning in silence, once of the dim lights in the hall providing enough illumination for him to see her clearly. "...Hi," he murmured quietly. He wasn't sure what to say other than that. All he wanted was to see her, and now that he was, words left him.

"Hi," Lightning responded quietly. "What are you doing awake?" Riku was the type of person who could will himself to sleep even when he didn't feel tired; apparently that skill was practiced a lot when he was travelling world to world on missions. He should have used that skill to fall asleep tonight.

Riku lowered his gaze slightly, looking at the necklace Lightning still wore. His necklace. "I wanted to see you," he told her softly. That was all. She could have been asleep, but at least he tried. She was the last person he saw before going to his room, but...it wasn't enough.

Lightning sighed, though a slight smile tugged at her lips. "You're hopeless," she insulted jokingly. He had his own room now, but he seemed to have more trouble sleeping now that she was in a separate room with Serah. Do you really miss me that much?

Riku chuckled softly, glancing up at Lightning before rubbing the back of his neck. He guessed he was. Nobody else ever had him standing at their door in the middle of the night. All of the "flings" he had back on the Islands never came close.

Light smiled softly at Riku's expression and mannerisms, temporarily forgetting what the next day would hold. She leaned forward and stood on her toes as she gave Riku a kiss on the cheek. When she pulled back, she looked him in the eye and spoke. "Thanks."

Riku's smile softened at the kiss, though he grew confused at the gratitude. "What for?" he asked quietly, being sure not to wake Serah. What was Lightning thanking him for? Stopping by? Anyone else would have said the opposite.

"Oh nothing," Light said casually, though a small smile stayed on her face. She was thanking him for a lot of things, really. She was thanking him for what he did in the past, the present, and what he was going to do in the future. He'd stay with her. She knew his devotion now.

Riku smirked now, just gazing at Lightning in silence. He doubted it was nothing, but he wasn't going to pressure her to tell him anything. Whatever it was, if she wanted to say it, she would. Until then, he would just keep wondering.

"Are you planning on getting any sleep tonight?" Lightning asked then, crossing her arms over her chest lightly. It was late--Probably midnight. She didn't know when everyone planned on leaving, but getting some sleep between now and then was probably a good idea.

"I was planning on it," Riku said with a faint nod. "But...that didn't exactly happen." If he was really wanting sleep, he would have been in his bed right now. Instead he was here with Lightning, and if he was going to get any sleep, he wanted to be beside her. She clearly didn't catch that just yet.

Lightning smirked slightly, reaching out and grasping Riku's wrist. "I'll tuck you back in," she said as she led him towards his bedroom. He had the possibility of getting some sleep tonight, so he should have been trying harder to rest.

Riku followed Lightning to his room, but once she was by his bed, he grasped her waist and pulled her onto the mattress with him. Now that he had her, he wasn't letting her go so easily. If she wanted, she was more than welcome to sleep in here with him. It wouldn't have been the first time.

Light's eyes widened when Riku pulled her down to the bed with him, the teen landing on her side and facing Riku as his hands rested on her hips. He had a mischievous look on his face too. "You don't look like you're ready for sleep," she commented with a slight smirk. What was he doing?

"Nah," Riku admitted quietly, despite the fact that they were in his room now. He squeezed Lightning's hips and leaned forward, placing a kiss to her lips. He didn't plan on sleeping now, but he was willing to try if Lightning stayed.

Lightning briefly returned Riku's kiss, though she knew she shouldn't have in her head. This wasn't encouraging him to get any rest. When he pulled back, she protested his actions. "I'm serious," she said. "You should get some sleep." Tomorrow was going to be a crazy day.

Riku rested the side of his head against the bed, sighing. "Fine," he said in defeat. "But only if you stay with me." Was he being needy? Yes. Did he care? No. Why? Because it was Lightning. She wouldn't judge him for it, because she would have her needy moment too. And he wouldn't judge her when the time came.

"Fine," Lightning sighed, easily giving in to Riku. This wouldn't be the first time they slept in the same bed. The first time, it was because Lightning refused to let him sleep on the floor, and he was the same with her, so they wound up sharing the bed. And then there was a period where they both had extreme nightmares and needed one another when they woke up. This time was similar: Riku had a need that needed to be met.
