Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Riku," Lightning scolded, tightening her grasp on the bar. "He's not worth it. Just ignore him." Zane was naturally antagonistic; he'd find something to tear Riku up about and keep attacking him, but only if Riku gave him the satisfaction. If he didn't humor him, Zane would leave him alone.

Lightning's voice calmed Riku to a point, and so he did as she advised and let it go. He released Zane from his grasp and stepped away, back closer to Lightning. Whatever he did here would get him in more trouble, and if he didn't want to suffer in here with punks like Zane, he needed to keep a cool head.

Lightning was glad to see Riku let go of Zane, but that alone wasn't good enough for her. "Come here," she said strictly. If he came over to her, she could reach through the bars and grasp his arm to hold him back. Riku was in jail because of her, but she wasn't going to let him earn himself a longer sentence just because Zane was a punk.

When Riku did as Lightning ordered, Zane started laughing. "Oh yeah, listen to your girlfriend. Let her boss the big Keyblader around," he said, scoffing. "Some hero you are."

Riku was right next to Lightning by this point, and he closed his eyes, grinding his teeth. Don't react, don't react....he kept telling himself. He couldn't let Zane win. But even if he did, Riku would win too; he would put Zane in a world of hurt.

Lightning reached through the bars and grasped Riku's arm, though perhaps "grasp" wasn't the proper term. She set her hand on his forearm softly, in a way to gently remind him that Zane was only capable of causing hurt through lies. Riku was a hero: hers.

"No wait, you're not a hero," Zane said, crossing his arms as he smirked at the two lovers by the bars. "You're dating a murderer. You defend a killer. You're nothing but a villain. You belong here, just like the rest of us. I bet if you turned against her, she'd murder you too. Safer in here, yeah?"

Riku felt the adrenaline flood his veins, hot like fire. He turned around instantly, ignoring Lightning's touch as he tore away from it. He marched over to Zane and grabbed him by the collar before throwing him against the nearest set of bars, which were thankfully not near Lightning. As soon as Zane regained his footing, Riku threw a punch, bloodying Zane's nose instantly. "You know nothing about her, or me!" he hollered. Zane needed to keep his mouth shut, or he'd get worse.

"Riku!" Lightning scolded, lifting both hands to the bars as she gripped them tightly. He had to cool it! She didn't even have a chance to be offended by Zane's comments because of Riku's sudden and harsh reaction. "Get over here.

Zane smirked, wiping the blood from his nose. "Go ahead. Do as the killer says," he encouraged, seeing Riku's eyes alight with fury. Exactly the reaction he wanted. "Do her bidding. Be her stupid bit--"

Riku slugged Zane again before he could say another word, his heart beating furiously with hatred. Zane crumpled to the ground, but Riku didn't hesitate climbing on top of him and landing hit after hit. Zane never received a beating from Riku, but now he would never forget it. Nobody talked about Lightning that way. Nobody.

Lightning did something she absolutely knew she shouldn't do; she cast magic. She summoned flames around her hands enough for her to soften the metal bars and bend them to her will. She grunted as she pulled them apart just enough for her to slip through. "Riku, stop it!" Lightning scolded after slipping through and hurrying to him, the rose-haired girl wrapping her arms around him from behind to tear him away from Zane.

"Get off me!" Riku ordered in outrage. He wasn't going to let Zane get away with this unscathed. He would pay for everything he said, and everything he did. Riku didn't care about mercy. With Zane, it didn't exist.

Zane only laughed. "Is that the best you got?" he said, attracting Riku's attention once more. He then spit the blood in his mouth, which landed on Riku's face.

Riku was beyond furious now. He grunted, uncharacteristically rough with Lightning as he forced her off of him. Once he was free, he threw the hardest punches he could at Zane's face. So what if he got in trouble? At this point he didn't care. Zane deserved to suffer.

Lightning fell onto her side when Riku shook her off, but she wasn't about to give up. She quickly rose again, this time wrapping her arms over his shoulders and holding more tightly around his neck. She'd cut off his air supply if that was what would get him to calm down. "Stop it!" she hissed in his ear, fighting to keep her grip with every punch he made. "If you do this...we'll be separated." That was the last thing Riku wanted, right?

  • Author

Riku stopped throwing any punches at that, staring at Zane with fury and surprise in his eyes. Lightning was right... They would get separated for this. He would ruin everything. He released Zane and got off of him, Lightning staying on his back even when Riku sat on the floor. He could only stare at the ground, not knowing what to do or say as he tried to catch his breath.

Light blinked, surprised she actually got through to Riku. She thought maybe it was a lost cause...Nevertheless, she released him and moved over to his side, lifting a hand and rubbing off the blood with her blue, fingerless gloves. The guards hadn't come yet; if they got Riku cleaned up before then, maybe he wouldn't be punished for this...

Riku closed his eyes when Lightning started wiping the blood away, breathing heavily as he tried to calm himself down. Zane in the meantime moved to sit against the bars. Riku's knuckles were covered in Zane's blood and on fire from all the punches he dealt, but he knew that it was justice...at least a little. Zane got what was coming to him, but Lightning... I'm sorry, he thought. He didn't mean to lose control.

Light lowered her gaze to Riku's hands, and she glanced behind her for any signs of guards as she set her hands over his. She shut her eyes and focused on a Cure spell, which would at least take away the pain and whatever cuts and bruises he formed when he was punching Zane. Now what could she use to clean his hands...?

Riku opened his eyes at the healing sensation, seeing Lightning's hands over his. He looked at her then, not knowing what to say. I'm sorry, he thought again, regret in his eyes. He didn't mean to do this. He just...lost it.

Lightning opened her eyes, not looking at Riku as she focused on the problem at hand. They had to get the blood off his hands... She looked from her own clothing to Riku's, but that wasn't going to work. She then looked at Zane. Part of his shirt would work. She reached towards him to tear his shirt, ignoring everything else but the solution to this problem.

"Lightning, stop," Riku said lowly, nothing but silence surrounding them. The others in the cells weren't speaking, too busy watching them. "I've already done it. Just stop." She couldn't cover up everything. It was obvious what happened. Zane would tell and then they would bring Riku in for questioning and then it would all fall apart. The damage was already done.

Lightning paused, turning her head to look at Riku in anger. She lifted a hand and tapped him on the cheek, that tap actually a tiny slap. "Stupid," she scolded, glaring into his eyes. What was he thinking, attacking Zane like that?

  • Author

"Get back into your cell," Riku said, not knowing how to react to the slap. "I'll tell them I did it." The bend in the bars. He would say he did it in his fury. The guards were coming. They had to be. There were surveillance cameras in the room to watch everyone in the cells. He was found out. He had to be.

"Shut up, stupid," Lightning said, setting her hands on Riku's arms to help him to his feet as she also rose. There had to be a way to cover this up. Maybe if he just sat on his hands when the guards came around, they wouldn't know it was him. It was the only thing she could think about right now.

Riku rose to his feet with Lightning, hearing a deep chuckle. That was when he focused on Zane again, whose teeth were stained red with blood. Just hearing him laugh had Riku's blood beginning to boil again. He was tempted to kick him, but what was the point?

Light shoved Riku back a step when his gaze grew angry, her back to Zane as she stood in front of Riku. She was intelligent; she had to come up with something to keep him from being whisked away. "Teleport," she thought suddenly. Riku could teleport right out of this cell and get cleaned up. There was nothing to prohibit him from casting a spell like that...

"What?" Riku hissed in disbelief. He couldn't do that. He would be running from the cops. He would have escaped jail. That would only get him in more trouble. He couldn't just teleport away! He wasn't going to leave Lightning here anyway. He was staying.

"No," Lightning mumbled to herself. Of course teleporting wouldn't work; there were security cameras everywhere and leaving the cell definitely wasn't a good idea. She lifted a hand and gripped Riku's shirt tightly, furrowing her eyebrows as she glared at his chest. There were cameras...There was no way to get out of this.
