Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Roxas momentarily lost his footing when the wave hit, but he quickly regained it if only for the sake of the girl who was clinging to him. He wrapped his arms around her lower back to keep her from being dragged away from the wave, though he could hardly take the situation seriously with the perfect reaction she just had. When the wave passed, he began to laugh.

Roxas's chuckles were in Namine's ear, and she could only giggle softly herself. His hold on her was secure, but it was also encouraging. Did he...like this? She wasn't the only one, was she? Namine turned her head to look at him, pulling back slightly as she kept her arms around his neck. What? she wanted to ask, but his laughter silenced her. It was adorable.

Roxas also loosened his hold on Namine, though to her expression, he only shook his head and smiled. "You're going to get wet anyway, huh?" he repeated, teasing her. She acted like she didn't need him to boost her above the waves and then she clung to him like this; it was illogical. Not that he was complaining.

Namine gave Roxas a look. "That was a big one, okay? I don't usually get in the water," she said in her defense. She usually sunbathed or drew her friends while they interacted or roughhoused in the water. That wave may have not been that big to the others, but to her it was huge.

"Oh, it was huge," Roxas agreed with a smirk. "But they're only going to get bigger. See what tonight is?" He lifted one of his hands, pointing to the orb in the sky that was getting darker now that the sun set. The moon was completely full, which meant the waves would be big.

Namine followed Roxas's gesture up to the sky, though focusing after that charming smirk was difficult. However, she recognized what his words meant. She backed up faintly, wading gently through the water as she moved away from Roxas. "With that in mind, I think I'm done for now," she said with a sheepish smile. She wouldn't face those waves tonight.

"I told you I wasn't going in alone," Roxas said, giving her a look. "I don't plan on staying in alone either." So unless she wanted him out of the water too, she was going to keep him company for a while. But she didn't need to worry; he wouldn't let the waves topple her.

"You're not," Namine said, continuing to back up. "You've got the others." Everyone but Riku and Lightning, who had their feet in the water, but that was about it. But...Sora and Kairi were being couple-y, as were Noel and Serah, who weren't even dating yet, as far as Namine knew. What would Roxas do then?

"Yeah..."Roxas looked around, keeping one of his hands on Namine's lower back. "...I don't appreciate their company as much as I do yours." He was growing bolder in the past week, mostly because Namine seemed okay with it. She seemed to receive his comments better than she used to. Did that mean she returned his feelings?

Namine felt a faint blush rise to her cheeks as a wave came, much smaller than the others, and gently rocked her and Roxas. His hand on her lower back...she could feel the heat from his palm through her wet tank top. His words had a great impact as well. "...The person who means the most to you," she said then, eyes on Roxas's. He said that days ago, but she never forgot. She couldn't.

Roxas blinked in surprise, but a soft smile worked its way onto his lips. "Now you're getting it," he said quietly. She didn't seem to get it the first time that he hinted she was the most important person, but now she finally understood and she seemed to embrace it. That was good--really good.

Namine wasn't sure how to respond, mostly because Roxas's words and smile had her staring. What could she say to that? She found it hard to believe that she was most important to him, considering all the friends he had: Sora, Kairi, Riku, Axel... How could she be one of those people?

Roxas glanced at the ocean, seeing another wave out of the corner of his eye. "Incoming," he warned, setting both his hands on Namine's waist as he hoisted her up. He also turned himself so the wave was to his back; otherwise, he would have been inhaling the wave.

Namine squeezed her eyes shut, her hands naturally finding Roxas's shoulders when he lifted her. He did it so easily, too... Once the wave passed, she was back on her feet, hands against Roxas's chest once more. He was soaking wet, and his spikes were all kinds of crazy. The sight had her laughing softly. Even when he was soaked, Roxas was adorable.

Roxas wasn't sure why Namine laughed, but he grinned like an idiot just because she was giggling. He spent a lot of time with her in the past few months, and those months weren't exactly happy times for her. So seeing her smile like this and hearing her laugh was heavenly.

That grin had Namine's stomach turning, but in a great way. Roxas was confident, cute, charming, protective, and a gentleman. He was...wonderful. Namine didn't know what she did to deserve such a great friend, or possibly someone to mean more to her than that. She didn't believe it had anything to do with her and Roxas being the Nobodies of Kairi and Sora. Their fates were in their own hands...and right now they were in each others.

Lightning and Riku stood on the shoreline, just letting the waves lap at their feet. Though she was mostly keeping an eye on Serah and Noel to look for affection on either of their parts, her eyes did wander to Namine and Roxas. Even with all the chaos before, she noticed a new type of devotion rising between them. Whatever they were now, she was happy for them, since they looked happy themselves.

Riku had his hands in his pockets, his eyes on the water that came in and touched his feet. He lightly kicked at the water that trickled by, smiling to himself. It was good to be home. He didn't realize how much he missed it until they returned from King Mickey's castle. Now that the legal stuff was sorted out, and Lightning cleared her name, things could return to normal. Hopefully.

Lightning looked down when Riku kicked the water, some of it coming back to hit her when a small breeze came. But when she looked up and saw his smile, she kept her gaze on his face. What, was he smiling about something that happened with the others? She felt like she missed something.

Riku glanced out of the corner of his eye, catching Lightning's gaze. His smile grew slightly as he looked forward, watching his friends have fun in the ocean. "It's nothing," he told her lowly. "Just glad to be home." And that was really it. He was relieved and happy things were beginning to turn around.

Lightning hummed in understanding, shifting her gaze forward. It was definitely good to be back, and to know that the charges against her were dropped. The paparazzi would be a pain, but the future had to get brighter from here. When she felt something against her foot, she knelt down, reaching her fingers into the sand as she pulled out a shell that was somehow intact.

Riku closed his eyes when a sea breeze came, not feeling the need to speak. The silence between him and Lightning was comfortable, and somewhat filled by Noel's shouts and Kairi's giggles. After months away from home, Riku was ready to get his life back to normal. WIth his friends, his family, work, and Lightning.

Lightning glanced up at Riku to ask him a question, but then she noticed his expression. He was very at peace, but also...very vulnerable to what she had in mind. She smirked and adjusted her footing, spinning around in the wet sand and swiping Riku's feet out beneath him so he'd be hit more by the oncoming wave.

Riku fell to the ground with little grace, his back hitting the sand. It was then that a larger wave came in and smothered him with water. When it receded, he sat up and spit water out of his mouth, silver hair dripping excess water onto his skin. He looked to Lightning, eyes wide with alarm. What was that for?

Lightning stood up completely, smirking down at Riku as she tried to hold back laughter. He set himself up for that one; how was she supposed to resist that temptation? She was tired from the past few months and he was too, but tonight was a night they were supposed to be active and alive. Hopefully getting drenched helped him wake up.
