Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Riku was already asleep, having dozed off a few minutes after he finished eating. His chin was tucked to his chest, his breath leaving him evenly and softly. Hopefully another nap would help him feel better. He needed to take care of Lightning...

Lightning looked over to Riku in order to distract herself, though she smiled faintly when he was out cold. He was...cute. Chin down, hair falling to his cheeks, chest rising gently with his breathing...He was so human. He wasn't a Keyblade warrior right now. He was Riku. She picked herself up after a few moments of staring, also grabbing a blanket and gently draping it over him before she returned to the couch and laid down and promptly fell asleep.

The next day, Christmas Eve

Riku stood out in the snow, his hands stuffed into the pockets of his coat as he observed his companion from a few feet away. They were at the local park, where a ton of kids were playing, even some teenagers. Snowmen were being built, forts were being made, and snowball fights were happening. They were far enough away not to get hit, at least. And he didn't really want to be hit, not when he was admiring Lightning in the snow. She was beautiful...and looked so innocent. This was her first time seeing snow...

Light ducked behind a snowman, avoiding the snowballs that came at her. Sora and Kairi were merciless, ganging up on her like this! But of course they were tag-teaming; they were husband and wife and did everything together. She couldn't see Riku from where she was, kneeling down and scooping up some snow before she rolled it and threw it, where it landed right on Sora's face.

Riku chuckled a little, seeing his breath cloud in front of him briefly because of the cold. He was happy to see his friends hanging out with each other, and that nobody was unhappy. Especially since he was around. Kairi wasn't entirely happy with him when she saw him, but he pulled her aside on the walk here and talked to her about everything. She accepted his explanation, just like Sora did. Riku glanced out of the corner of his eye, seeing paparazzi nearby. He and Lightning were out in public after the incident... Of course the cameras would be all over them.
Sora groaned dramatically, falling on his back as he sprawled out across the ground. "It's up to you, Kai," he moaned, looking up at his wife pathetically. He knew that he was the drama queen in the relationship, but it was all in good nature. After all these years--after all the stress of his missions with the Keyblade, he was still the same goof.

Kairi giggled. "No problem!" she said, scooping up more snow. "I'll avenge you!" She chucked her snowball at Lightning with all her might, though her strength was kind of pathetic. She really needed to work on that more, especially since she had a Keyblade.
Again, Lightning ducked behind the snowman to avoid the snowball thrown at her. Unfortunately, despite Kairi's weakness, her snowball was able to accomplish something. It hit the snowman's head, and since the head wasn't placed well, it fell back onto the top of Lightning's head while she was distracted scooping up snow. She grunted, surprised. How the heck did that happen?

Riku couldn't hold it in any longer, the young man tilting his head back as he released his laughter. He couldn't believe that just happened! Oh, I hope the cameras catch this! he thought in amusement. This could be a humoruous point in the tabloids, and it would show that Lightning wasn't completely depressed about what happened with Ashe. It would show her strength.
Light looked over at Riku, sending him a glare at his laughter. He was supposed to be helping her here, not mocking her while Sora and Kairi got their way! She stomped over to him without wiping herself off, snow in hand. And since his eyes were shut with how much he was laughing, she had no problem performing her next action. She stopped right in front of him, grabbing the collar of his coat before she dropped a snowball down the front of his shirt.

Riku yelped, then grunting as he backed away from Lightning. He swiped at the snow in his coat, trying to push it out through the bottom. "Lightning!" he cried in disbelief, hating the cold. It was soaking his skin! He briefly recognized Kairi's laughter nearby, but he kept trying to get the snow out of his coat. Cold!
Light laughed softly, but she whirled around and threw a snowball at Kairi. Only Lightning could laugh at Riku in this case. Kairi had to receive vengeance for whatever just happened. She could still feel particles of snow in her hair, though they were beginning to melt against her scalp and make her colder and wetter.

Kairi's squeak in fright reached Riku's ears, and he glanced over in time to see her duck and fall to the ground to avoid the snowball. But he had other plans in mind. He looked to Lightning, a light in his eyes. "You little..." he said, but then he made his move. While Lightning's back was to him, he moved forward and picked her up, then throwing her over his shoulder. He then proceeded to spin her around in circles in the snow, smiling crookedly. She couldn't stuff snow down his shirt if she couldn't see straight.
Light grunted with Riku's sudden move, hearing Sora's laughter along with Riku's. She automatically shut her eyes and grasped the back of Riku's jacket with one hand, trying to wait out the spinning. Or, better yet, wait till Riku lost his footing and fell down on his butt because he was spinning too quickly. If that happened, she knew what she would do to get him back for this crazy move.

Riku laughed as he spun, but his eyes grew wide when his foot slipped. He landed on the ground with a rough, surprised grunt, instantly feeling the coldness of the snow against his legs. He kept his hold on Lightning, making sure she didn't hit the snow with her head; that wouldn't have been pleasant.
Light snickered through her laughter. Perfect. She reached down and grabbed some snow before grabbing the back of Riku's collar and dropping it down. That was what he got for such a cheap trick. If he thought that spinning was going to throw her off too much, then he was sadly mistaken. Even the presence of the media couldn't dampen her spirits today.

Riku stiffened at the cold, and that was when he pushed Lightning's legs over his shoulder, flipping her so she would land on the ground. He was already sitting down, so he knew it wouldn't hurt her. He fought the cold, knowing there was no way to get it out of his shirt from behind. It would just have to melt.
Lightning grunted when she landed on her back, the cold snow already being absorbed into her jeans. Alright, maybe she shouldn't have gotten so cocky. Riku just got her as badly as she got him. She looked up towards the sky, not bothering to move. She was going to accept her defeat, this time. She wouldn't always be that kind though.

Riku turned so he was on his knees, facing Lightning. He put his hands on either side of her and looked down at her, his head above hers. "Cut it out," he told her, though he was fighting a smile. The fact that she was smiling was great. But that she was laughing... It was extraordinary.
Light continued to laugh, though it was controlled laughter as she looked up and the press adored their position. "Why don't you make me?" she challenged lowly. He had to admit, she got him pretty good. But he deserved it for ditching her in the fight with Sora and Kairi. What on earth had he been doing, anyway? She was too busy to notice he was admiring her rosy cheeks and smile.

Riku thought of one thing right then, but he only gave in to his smile. "I have a few ideas," he told her lowly. "The press would approve." A lot, actually, but he wouldn't take things that far just yet. But Lightning's laughter was like music to his ears. It made him so...happy.

"Well we can't let the press get everything they want, now can we?" Light retorted in the same playful tone, though she didn't protest against what Riku was thinking. She already figured out what it was; she wasn't completely stupid when it came to relationship stuff. N-not that they were in a real relationship! Of course they weren't...

Riku lifted an eyebrow at the question, though his eyes only rested on Lightning. He had a feeling that she knew what he was talking about, and he wasn't sure how he felt about that. Nervous...or elated? Ignorant of the cameras snapping at their position, aquamarine rested on blue, both in their own world.
Light held Riku's gaze for a few more moments, but then she noticed a shadow coming their direction. Sora, naturally. He seemed to come in at bad times lately. She shut her eyes when she noticed he had a huge ball of snow in his hands, the brunet promptly dropping it on the back of Riku's head so that about half the snow came down onto Lightning as well. Sora!

The weight from the snow made Riku lower his head slightly, a grunt leaving him at the bitter cold. "Sora," he growled, lifting his gaze to his friend that stood nearby. He was right next to Sora, so he simply reached over and pulled his friend's leg, so then he could fall to the snow too.
