Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"I'll admit, your strategy was clever," Riku said with a small nod. His smile turned into his famous crooked one, the smile that made girls in the past swoon. "But it won't be that hard to get you back." He didn't have anything in mind yet, but he had plenty of time to come up with something.
"Oh really?" Lightning said, snickering at both Riku's threat and his famous smile. "How do you plan on doing that?" A lot of the kids were gone now, so he couldn't unleash them against her now. And besides, that would have been a completely unoriginal idea. His revenge would have to be much more clever than that.

"Well," Riku said, glancing at the ground as he took a few steps closer to Lightning, "I won't be using kids to do my dirty work, that's for sure." He looked up at the person before him, his smile growing only a little bit as he waited for her response. The fact that she had eight kids come at him at once was both clever and cruel, but he would get her back for it sometime soon.
Lightning's smirk remained as she clasped her hands behind her, an uncharacteristic posture for her. But she was feeling playful, and this posture reflected that. "It worked, so I'm satisfied," she stated, looking up and seeing Riku's aquamarine eyes shining. Did the snow have some kind of magical effect on his eyes? Because they looked even more incredible than usual.

Riku chuckled a little, glancing down at the ground again as he stood in front of Lightning. "Yeah, I can tell that," he said, eyes finding her again. The smile on her face expressed that more than her statement did, that was for sure. But...he could just feel happiness radiate from her anyway, and it was great. He leaned forward then, his eyes going to the paparazzi that lingered a couple hundred feet away behind Lightning. His lips near Lightning's ear, Riku whispered. "But I won't be satisfied until I get you back."
As if the air wasn't chilly enough, Riku's words almost made Lightning shiver. Crazy. Absolutely crazy. How could one person make her feel such extreme emotions? How could one person make her so happy? "I'll have to keep my guard up, then," she whispered, turning her face a little to the side so that she could look at Riku and inadvertently bringing her lips in closer proximity to his.

Riku turned his head a little at the words, his smile returning. Especially when he realized how close he and Lightning were to each other. "Good luck with that," he told her lowly, keeping eye contact for one more moment before stepping to the side to join Sora and Kairi not too far off. Lightning's guard was up for a while when they barely knew each other, and then when he messed things up with Ashe. But lately, her guard had slowly been going down. She would have to work hard to keep it up.
But you forgot one thing, Lightning thought silently to Riku as he took a few steps away. You need to keep yours up too. I prefer being on the offense. She took off after him, grabbing his shoulders from behind and pushing so that she could tackle him to the ground. If he thought she was going to sit by and wait for his revenge, he was sadly mistaken.

Riku's hands had been his pockets, and he was lucky enough to catch himself on his hands before his face met the ground. "What the...?" he muttered, glancing over his shoulder. That had to be Lightning, but...what was she doing?!
Lightning grinned, setting a knee on Riku's back along with a hand to keep him down. "You can't think I'm just going to sit by and let you dish out your revenge," she stated. It was pretty obvious that she wasn't a person who sat around and waited for anything. She was a person of action.

Riku blinked in surprise, not undertanding. "I haven't even dished it out yet!" he exclaimed. What the heck was she doing? If she thought that her hand and knee on his back was enough to keep him down, she clearly forgot how strong he was. He pushed himself up and rolled over so he was on his back, forgetting just what that would do to Lightning's position.
Lightning stumbled, having taken some of her weight off Riku when he began to push himself up. But she had been putting enough pressure on him that when he moved, she fell down to her knees where he had been lying before. At least it didn't hurt; there was plenty of snow on the ground despite Riku's fall to ensure a soft landing.

Riku stared up at the sky, watching as the snow gently fell to the ground. He knew that Lightning was beside him, and he could see her out of the corner of his eye. "Well, your newest plan just failed," he said, smirking. "Got anything else?" Whatever she had just planned on doing to him, she failed miserably. If throwing snow on him was her next idea, he would just laugh. That had already happened through eight kids.
Light rolled her eyes. She supposed she had to improvise, or Riku would never let her live this down. She picked up some snow in one hand and dropped it over his face casually, not noticing that Sora and Kairi were amused nearby. Apparently it was unusual for Riku to be so comfortable with someone other than the two of them.

Riku closed his eyes, feeling the bitter cold of the snow rest on his eyelids. He blew air out his mouth to get some of the snow off of his lips, otherwise lying still. "Predictable," he simply said. He knew something of the sort was coming. Lightning wasn't as creative as she was before.
"Don't care," Lightning sighed in return. She looked down at her jeans, seeing how wet they were. Absolutely soaked. They had been out here for a while and she was starting to feel it. Not only was she cold, but she was also tired. How was playing in the snow so exhaustive, though? She felt great this morning, after sleeping away that cold...

Riku sat upright, wiping at the snow on his face. His hands were absent of gloves, so his fingertips were like ice. He could barely feel his hands, but it was alright. He knew that once he got back inside, he would be fine in no time. He glanced over his shoulder to see Sora and Kairi being all husband and wife-like not too far off, so he looked away. He spotted paparazzi at that moment, however, seeing their expressions from where he was. Well, looks like somebody's enjoying this...

Light followed Riku's gaze after a few moments, seeing where he was looking. Geez, the press were still around? Well, at least they weren't harassing them with questions. Today was just a day for photography, apparently. She looked elsewhere, seeing Sora on the ground and "flailing around", in her opinion. What he was really doing, though, was making a snow angel.

Riku silently pushed himself up, dusting himself off, though it was pretty pointless. The snow was everywhere and slowly melting to soak his clothes. Regardless, he turned to Lightning and offered his hands. He would help her up, and then they could go make fun of Sora and Kairi, the latter having joined her husband in making a snow angel like they were twelve.
Lightning slipped her frigid hands into Riku's when she looked back and noticed him, her hands bare as well. Neither of them thought to buy gloves last time they were shopping, though there was no reason for gloves then because there was no snow. Regardless, she kept her hands in Riku's and looked over at Sora and Kairi with inquisitive eyes. What were they doing?

"Snow angels," Riku said, having glanced over and seen Lightning's look of question. "I swear those two are still kids." He kept his grasp on one of Lightning's hands, starting toward Sora and Kairi in silence. He completely forgot that they were supposed to be a "couple" in front of the press; he held her hand because he wanted to, and that was the only reason.
Sora finished with his snow angel as the other couple approached, the teen certain that was an accurate label even if their relationship was "fake." He glanced up at them before he sat up, looking down but not being able to see the finished product from where he was. "How is it?" he asked Riku.

Riku stopped near Sora and Kairi, looking down at the snow angel. "Ridiculous, as it is every year," he teased with a small smirk. The snow angel was good, but he wasn't going to admit that. He saw Kairi shake her head at Riku's taunt, but he only continued holding Lightning's hand, acting oblivious.
"All the cool kids do it," Sora snickered, glancing behind him and seeing a bunch of forsaken snow angels. "We're just above you this year." Even if Riku was towering above them now, Sora and Kairi's cool status was off the charts. And by "cool", he could also mean "cold". He was pretty sure everyone was absolutely drenched.

Riku rolled his eyes. "Forget it. You've never been above me," he taunted lowly. Of course, he was referring to his and Sora's childhoods, where they always competed. Riku won a lot of the competitions, but...Sora came out the real winner in the end. He got the girl, and became a hero, with the strongest heart.

"Alright, boys," Kairi said, rising from her place within her snow angel. She stepped over to be next to her husband, offering him her gloved hands. "Let's go get some hot chocolate, okay? You can tease each other when we're not all soaking wet and cold." They could probably dish out the taunts better that way, anyway. The cold wouldn't be affecting their thought processes.
