Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Sora nodded faintly, seeing the portal that they needed. "There," he agreed quietly. That was their ticket out of here. Now they had no time to stall; they had to get through the portal. Bringing it here was probably no easy task since the worlds weren't connected the way that they used to be. It was time to go.

Riku started forward wordlessly, trusting Sora to follow. The portal was white, the opposite of the portals from the Realm of Darkness. When he and Sora were close, they walked through and disappeared from the Islands. From their friends and families. Their journey was about to begin.

Two Months Later

It was two months later. Two months since Sora had seen home. But at least it wasn't two months since he saw the woman beside him. He glanced over at Kairi briefly, the air still between him, her, and Riku. A lot happened in the past two months. Sora and Riku fell into a trap during their mastery exams, Riku was declared a Master, and Kairi began formal training underneath Master Yen Sid while Sora and Riku tried to search the worlds to find Master Xehanort's thirteenth candidate for his new Organization. So far, they had no luck. And in their desperation, Kairi was now searching with them.

Riku walked along the path of the newly-restored Radiant Garden. His eyes were darting everywhere for any signs of one of the Organization. Master Xehanort's newest Organization. He was confused as to why Master Yen Sid told him to get Kairi after he passed the exam, but it was cleared up soon enough; Kairi was trained under Master Yen Sid's order, and now she was traveling alongside them. It was a little worrisome, but Riku knew that Kairi could handle herself a lot better now. She was trained in the art of the Keyblade.
They're not going to be reckless enough for us to find them by accident, Sora thought as they walked, eyebrows furrowing as he looked forward. I know that better than everyone else. His hands curled into light fists. All of their actions were extremely calculated, as shown by how they lured Sora right into their plans while he was clueless. He felt like such a helpless idiot after that... He couldn't deny that he changed after that. He was more serious than before.

Kairi walked with her friends, though she wasn't as careless or absent-minded as she was before. She wanted to take in the sight of her previous home, but now wasn't the time. The area around the three was still, tense. It made her body do the same as she walked. She wasn't sure who exactly they were looking for, but surely a black coat would set them off.
One who shared Master Xehanort's essence appeared out of a portal some distance ahead of the three Keyblade wielders, his hood down as he approached them. At first, he didn't bother saying anything. It was clear he wasn't here to threaten them though; he had no weapon in his grasp. He only wished to convey a portion of his plans to them. And he could call them his own, since he was Xehanort. Young Master Xehanort.

Riku stopped walking immediately, his eyes hardening at the sight of Young Xehanort. His hands curled into tight fists, the young man fighting the urge to summon his Keyblade. "You again," he said lowly. Young Master Xehanort actually bothered to show up after he was defeated... That meant something was going on, especially if he came here willingly.
Young Master Xehanort nodded his regards to the three angry looking Keyblade wielders before him, though Kairi didn't seem to know him. That was fine; she would discover it soon enough. "I see you're all doing well," he said, though he only received a glare from Sora in response. Of course the brunet would be angry; he was the Organization's puppet during his training time.

Kairi glanced over at Sora briefly, but then he looked at the man before them. "Who are you?" she asked softly, confused. Sora and Riku seemed to know him well, and by the black coat he was wearing, she didn't doubt them for being angry. He was obviously part of the Organization.
"I am Xehanort, Princess," the young man responded, dipping his head faintly in respect. It wasn't necessarily mock respect, either. If she was going to be a part of the seven Lights, then she was going to prove to be a worthy opponent to them. "Sora and Riku met me during their examinations." He heard the former growl lowly at the mention, which he should have expected once again. Sora despised him for obvious reasons.

"Not under good circumstances, then," Kairi replied, though she was slightly thrown off with the bow. He was trying to be respectful? She stared at Young Xehanort with cautious eyes, not entirely too close to Sora. She knew he would try to protect her if he could, but she was working for hours on end the past month to help them win this war...and she wasn't about to stand down now. If Young Xehanort was going to actually threaten them, that is.

"Not from your perspective, no," Xehanort agreed. They wouldn't be good circumstances for the Keyblade wielders, since they were his enemies. "But you needn't worry about such things today." He noticed Sora appeared more confused at that, but he shouldn't have been surprised. He hadn't been attacked in the past month of hunting for the thirteen Darknesses, after all. "Sora, you have proven to be too much of a hassle. We've found a new pawn."

"Who?" Sora asked, stunned that he was no longer the target but also appreciative. That must have meant that Riku's work with him in the past month was helpful. His best friend had been helping him develop a resistance to the Darkness, which would in turn help him resist Xehanort. That probably persuaded them not to use him. But...who was the new target?

  • Author
Riku's eyes narrowed a little in suspicion, wondering the same thing as Sora. Who were the Organization after now? He doubted it was him, since they already said that plan failed in the past. And if it wasn't Sora...who could it possibly be?
"The original number thirteen," Xehanort said. It was obvious Sora didn't immediately get the reference, but Riku could enlighten him soon enough. He smiled faintly before he turned around and left the same way that he came, leaving the three Keyblade wielders behind. It was time Xehanort went to retrieve Number Thirteen.
  • Author
Riku grunted roughly at the reference, and his hands tightened even more. They needed to get back to the Islands immediately... He turned to his friends, though he focused on Sora. Kairi's confusion was obvious in her eyes. "Roxas," he stated. They were going after Roxas.
Sora's eyes widened immediately. The original number thirteen. Roxas! "Let's go," he said, turning around and sprinting the way that they came from to get to their Gummi Ship. Roxas was still on the Islands, living a normal life because he refused to have anything to do with the Keyblade. But that wasn't going to be an option anymore, not with Xehanort hunting him.
  • Author
The three of them raced to the Gummi Ship as fast as they could, and once they reached it, Sora put the ship into warp mode. It appeared in front of Destiny Islands immediately, but...something didn't feel right. Glancing over at Kairi, he could tell that she felt the same way.
Sora landed the ship and ran outside, seeing that the Islands were still covered in snow but the snow wasn't as deep as it had been when he left. What a way to come home. He may still be at school, Sora thought, staring in that direction. But then he felt this sudden fog hit him. He grunted, swaying on his feet. "No..." He didn't want to go through this again!

Kairi came off the ship before Riku, but she stopped, looking at Sora when he started to sway. Her eyes turned to Riku in alarm, but he was gripping his head as well. "Guys," she said in worry, though her vision started to blur just then. She fell to her knees because she got so dizzy, and suddenly so tired. What was going on? She heard Riku grunt to her side, and not long after, he was on the ground, unconscious. Her heartbeat picked up in fright, not sure of what was going on here. Kairi opened her mouth to say Sora's name, but that was when she fell to her side, her head resting in the melted snow as she too lost consciousness.
Sora found himself waking up, cold because of the snow but fairly alert because of the situation. He carefully picked himself up, looking around as he listened for any noise at all. But there was none. Life on the Islands was frozen as most people remained unconscious. He grunted, turning around to look at Kairi and Riku. Were they okay? How long were they out?

Riku was just waking up as well, pushing himself up into a sitting position. He heard Kairi groan softly behind him, and he knew she was unaware of what happened. But he did, and looking over at Sora, Riku knew he did too. It was what happened to them in the Dream Realm. They would just randomly drop like flies.
"I'm running on ahead," Sora declared, resetting one of his feet to keep his balance on the ground. His head was still a bit fuzzy, but there was no time to reflect on that. He hoped that Roxas was still okay... He was his Nobody, so Sora was really urgent to get to him. Kairi was basically okay...more okay than Roxas would be if he didn't go help him. With that knowledge, Sora turned and began to run into the city.

Riku watched Sora go before turning his head to look at Kairi. She was awake enough to see Sora go, rubbing her head. "Master Yen Sid trained you for this," he reminded her, catching her attention. She seemed to catch the hint, putting on a brave face instantly and rising to her feet. He did the same. "We need to split up and search for Roxas. Meet back here in thirty." Kairi nodded to him before she took off in one direction, and so Riku took off in the other. As worried as he was for Roxas, he couldn't help but worry about everyone else. Noel, Serah...and Lightning.
What on earth...? Roxas wondered, regaining consciousness. He grunted and slowly began to pick himself up from the library floor, looking around. As soon as he saw other bodies laying around, his confusion spiked. So he wasn't the only one who passed out? But why was he awake first? He didn't like this... I gotta check this out somehow. How many people are out? It's not...the whole school, right? He picked himself up and started outside, though he didn't know what would be waiting for him.
