Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Roxas nodded faintly, summoning Oathkeeper to his free hand as he looked at the man ahead of him. Even if he didn't have weapons on him, he somehow made Roxas feel more uneasy than Ansem did. "You too," he said. She needed to stay focused on finding Namine, and whatever happened... "Don't turn back till you find her." Roxas would be fine, and besides, dragging Sora's wife into battle probably wasn't something his best friend would appreciate.

Kairi started away without another word, slipping past Young Xehanort without having to raise her weapon. She ran away from the scene hoping that Riku or Sora would help Roxas. Two against one wouldn't work out in his favor.

Xehanort hmphed softly to himself, smirking faintly when Roxas pointed one Keyblade at him and the other at Ansem. "You're right to consider me a threat..." he said, starting towards the blond. Number Thirteen appeared unsure of himself since Xehanort was approaching him without a weapon, but he seemed ready to attack all the same just because of the Organization cloak. No matter what bitterness Roxas held towards the coat, he'd be wearing one soon enough.

Ansem stayed where he was, already within close proximity to the former Organization XIII member. He had his arms crossed as he levitated, his Guardian hovering behind him. The Nobody stood no chance against the two of them, especially with how weak he was. Apparently he hadn't stuck to practicing with his Keyblade like the others had. It was his own fault, and he would pay the price.

Roxas growled, seeing how the two looked at him. They were looking at him like he was already beaten. "What do you want?" he asked lowly, looking back from one entity to the other. He didn't know the younger person, but he didn't have any real interest in finding out who he was as long as he was wearing that cloak and saying Roxas was right to perceive him as a threat.

Xehanort smiled. "Come with me and find out," he said, outstretching a hand towards Roxas. If he wanted answers, then it was best that he come along for the ride.

Roxas's eyes narrowed at the hand, the smile, and the words. "No thanks," he said simply, pulling his Keyblades closer to him as he lunged for Xehanort and swung both blades at him. But the young man was agile, jumping away from him easily before initiating a real battle with weapons of his own.

Riku sensed a mass amount of Darkness after wandering around the Islands. It was a familiar Darkness, the scent too recognizable. And when he went around a corner, suddenly hearing battlecries, he understood. "Ansem!" he cried in shock, catching the entity's attention. The Heartless only smiled before going for Roxas again, and Riku summoned his Keyblade to him instantly. There was no time to lose; he had to help Roxas! Running in, that's exactly what Riku did, striking at Young Xehanort's back before he could reach his friend.
Roxas blocked an attack from Ansem while Riku protected his back by fighting Xehanort. The help was appreciated, but too little too late at this point in the battle. His Keyblades shook as they pressed against the Guardian's claws, trying to keep them away from his face. They inched closer and closer...until he heard a battle cry from the side and saw a brunet jump into the fray and knock Ansem away. Sora...Thank goodness.

Riku focused on fending off Young Xehanort, a battle cry leaving him as he swung. But then he held his ground, briefly glancing over and seeing that Sora showed up. Good, but...where was Kairi? Young Xehanort and Ansem seemed to be the only ones here, but there could be more of them. He just hoped she didn't encounter any other entities.
Xehanort stepped away from Riku gracefully, simply dodging most of his blows. He had other concerns at that moment. Mainly, the fact that other people were awakening around them. He didn't like this; he knew the people of Destiny Islands, and though they lived in paradise, they were defensive of their land. "Ansem, it is time," he declared. "Exact our revenge and then leave." He should have known the message, because it was one Xehanort told him telepathically. Riku shouldn't have come here, and now he was going to suffer because he didn't accept Xehanort's kind offer earlier.

"Very well," Ansem replied with a small smile. He blocked an attack from one of the Keybladers with ease, but he spared a glance in Riku's direction before disappearing in a portal. It was time he took care of a little...bonus.
As both entities disappeared from the battlefield, Roxas felt an immense sense of relief, despite what the one said before he left. It clearly didn't concern him since they left him here. He sank down to his knees, Keyblades stabbing into the ground in front of him as he fought to catch his breath. Sora said his name in concern, but he didn't bother responding. What just happened? Why were Sora, Riku, and Kairi back? What did Kairi mean when she said he was in danger other than the obvious?

Riku panted, wiping sweat from his forehead as he turned to look at Sora and Roxas. "What happened?" he asked lowly. When did Ansem and Young Xehanort show up? But what Riku really wanted to know was where Kairi was. It had been at least twenty minutes since they left the beach. Hopefully she was doing alright.
Sora shrugged, looking down at Roxas as his friend caught his breath. Unfortunately, Sora didn't have any potions on him for his friend to help him out, and he was saving his magic because he was wondering where Xehanort and Ansem went. It felt like they were gone, but he needed some magic to form a barrier if there was a surprise ambush coming. Once he was sure that wasn't going to happen, then he'd Cure Roxas. But...where was Kairi...?

Riku looked around, seeing that people were starting to wake up. "Well, whatever they had planned, they don't have much time left," he said. His eyes narrowed as he saw the citizens on the ground begin to awaken. He was immediately tempted to go back to Lightning...

"What the heck is going on?" Roxas asked through his breathing, looking up at Sora with confused, serious, and angry eyes. He wasn't angry at Sora, unless he saw this coming for a while and didn't warn him about it--which he doubted. Sora wasn't the type of person who could keep secrets from anybody.

Sora sighed quietly, shifting his gaze to another part of the ground. "It's a long story..." He'd tell it, but first he wanted to know that Kairi was okay. He felt like he should go look for her...Maybe Riku could just stay with Roxas for a few minutes, to make sure he wasn't vulnerable.

"Namine? Namine, are you okay?" Kairi asked, gazing down at her friend. She had fainted just outside the park, on a set of stairs. The bruises and cuts on her face proved it. But...Kairi knew that this was no time to worry about small things like that. She found Namine, just like Roxas asked. Hopefully she wasn't too dazed from the spell.

Kairi's voice registered to Namine, and she furrowed her eyebrows in pain. The stone steps were digging into her back. "...Kairi?" she asked, confused. Her friend had been gone for a month, at least. What was she doing here? Where had she even gone?

"I'm gonna go look for Kairi," Sora said to Riku. "Stay with him?" There was no way that they could leave Roxas alone after he was attacked like that, whether Xehanort was coming back or not. It was obvious he had a ton of questions, and rightfully so. Roxas never wanted the life of a Keyblade wielder, but that was what he would be forced to live now.

Riku nodded, eyes hard as he looked from the scenery to Sora. He would stay with Roxas, but that meant he couldn't go see Lightning. Hopefully she was okay... Surely she would be alright. She wasn't hurt when he saw her earlier.

Kairi offered her hand to Namine. "C'mon," she encouraged her friend. She helped her to her feet, though Namine was moving a little slow. It was alright, and expected. Kairi had learned to recover quickly, despite how much pain she was in; she was a warrior, while Namine wasn't.

Namine lifted a hand to her head when she was on her feet, looking around as other people started to wake up as well. She realized before she fainted that she wasn't the only one affected. But it still didn't explain what happened. All she knew was that her head was pounding from how she hit it on the stairs.

After a little while, Sora managed to track down both Kairi and Namine. He was glad to see Namine as well, though he was confused as to why Kairi was with this blonde and not the other. On their way back to the courtyard in front of the library, he asked her softly about it. "Why weren't you with Roxas...?" He shouldn't have been hard to find, with all the battle noises.

"I was, but...he insisted that I find Namine," Kairi replied, looking to her husband. He wasn't beat up at all, which was good. But she wasn't sure about Roxas... At least he was still with them; Xehanort didn't get his newest vessel today.
Sora looked over at the blonde in silence, confused as to why Roxas would tell Kairi to find Namine. He noticed Roxas and Namine had been hanging out more during the fall, but he was certain they weren't dating. Namine wasn't frantically asking about Roxas...though she'd be alarmed when she saw his condition. It had been a close call with Xehanort and Ansem. Way too close.

Kairi followed Sora's gaze, seeing that Namine looked like she was still in pain. It was probably her head injury... Kairi looked away to give her some privacy. "Roxas said she was in danger," she told Sora quietly. Kairi wasn't sure why that was, but she listened to him anyway. Namine didn't seem to be threatened when Kairi showed up...
Sora furrowed his eyebrows, looking ahead. He was confused all right, but that wasn't anything unusual for him. "...We'll just have to ask him," he said quietly, seeing the courtyard up ahead. Roxas was still down on his knees with Keyblades stabbed into the ground before him, which Sora supposed was a good sign. It meant that Xehanort and Ansem hadn't returned.

Namine lifted her gaze after a minute, finally recognizing where they were. The school? But why? It was then that she saw Roxas on the ground, her eyes widening. "Roxas?" she called weakly. He looked...hurt. What happened?
Roxas turned his head at the call, still having some blood on his cheek from the Guardian's scratch. As soon as he saw Namine was alright, he was relieved. So relieved. "Good," he said quietly. He had been wrong. He was perfectly alright with that, since the last thing he wanted was for Ansem to go after Namine.
