Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Namine blinked in surprise, then approaching her friend. He looked...beaten up. She knelt down next to him, seeing the scratch on his cheek. She was scratched up too, but not to that extent. What happened here, to make him like this? What did she miss?
Roxas looked up at the three that were still standing, eyebrows furrowing. "Now would someone please tell me what's going on," he said, exasperated. He just got attacked by one person who was supposed to be dead, and the other, a stranger who seemed to know who he was. He wanted answers right away.

"That mission we were on?" Riku asked, crossing his arms, Keyblade gone. "Those two were involved. They're rounding up a new Organization, and you're their thirteenth member." Again. Roxas probably wouldn't like it, but it was the point of all this. Xehanort wasn't going to stop until he got Roxas.
Roxas furrowed his eyebrows, focusing his gaze on Riku since he was the one who spoke. "A new Organization?" he repeated. "Like Organization XIII?" That would make sense, considering that he was number thirteen in their gang, but why would Ansem be here to recruit him to a new Organization? How was he alive? Who was the other guy...?

Riku nodded, glancing at Namine when she stood up. She looked pretty scratched up.... What happened to her? "Xehanort is looking for thirteen vessels to house pieces of his heart. When he has thirteen Darknesses, we will have seven Lights to fight him," he explained. "It doesn't seem fair, but it's the way it has to be."
Roxas furrowed his eyebrows, rising to his feet and grunting in pain as he did. Nevertheless, he rose to his full height and glared at Riku. The glare wasn't directed at Riku, but at the situation. "And I'm his thirteenth vessel?" he hissed. This was unbelievable! Roxas was finally making a life for himself here in his schooling and music and this Keyblade business was dragging him back in. Great. Just great.

Namine lifted a hand to the back of her head in silence, seeing that nobody bothered to reply. It was obvious... Roxas was supposed to be Xehanort's thirteenth vessel, the thirteenth Darkness. Even if Riku explained some of it, it was still a lot to take in. Namine's pounding head didn't help anything.
Slowly, it began to click. They wanted Roxas as a thirteenth vessel for some reason. But they obviously knew he wasn't going to willingly join them, so they would force him somehow. Maybe using somebody to get to him. He softened, hands uncurling as he looked around at the three Keybladers. "Listen," he said quietly. "...I think..." How did he say it? How did he tell them that Namine could be targeted too? He looked over at the blonde as he thought, eyes locking onto hers. He didn't want to scare her...

Namine met Roxas's gaze in silence, though her expression turned into one of anxiety at the look he was giving her. What? she wondered silently. What wasn't he telling them? Telling her? The fact that he hesitated actually made her nervous...
Roxas looked away from Namine, hands curling into fists again as he furrowed his eyebrows and shut his eyes. "...Never mind." He couldn't say it in front of her. Until he had the chance to pass on his concerns to Riku or Sora, he'd do something completely unselfish. He'd protect Namine. It was only fair, since they'd go after her in order to get to him...He would be at fault for any pain that came to her. He promised himself that wouldn't happen.

Kairi's eyebrows furrowed slightly in confusion, and she looked to Namine to see nearly the same expression her face as well. Regardless, she carried on. "Well, looks like we better make sure everyone's alright," she said, looking to Riku and Sora. Once they were sure everyone was okay, they could go into their next plan of action...whatever that was.

Riku took a step forward, uncrossing his arms. "Lightning was on Fifth Street when I found her," he stated. "I'm gonna go back and see if she's awake." They could come with or meet up somewhere else, Riku didn't care. He just wanted to see Lightning. It had been two months...

Sora nodded faintly. "Let's meet back at the ship in an hour--all of us," Sora said, looking to Roxas and Namine as well. The latter opened his eyes and recognized the message, only nodded faintly to say that he accepted it. Sora then looked to his wife, prepared to go search with her to make sure things were okay. He didn't really want anyone going alone.

Riku nodded, seeing that Kairi met Sora's gaze. But after that, he took off, going back the way he came originally. He had to get back to Lightning. Hopefully she was still in the same place he left her. But if she did leave, she couldn't be far.
Roxas noticed how Sora was looking at Kairi, so he did what was logical and what he wanted to do anyway. "Namine?" he asked, jerking his head towards one path they could take. They could check together to see if people were alright. It seemed like most people were, but he guessed it was his duty as a Keyblade wielder to check for sure. He didn't like this already, having responsibilities... But the oath he made for Namine was a responsibility he would bear without complaining.

Namine looked to Roxas, catching his gesture. She nodded slightly. "Mm," she agreed with a hum. Right, they had a job to do too, even if Namine wasn't a Keyblade wielder. She started in the direction Roxas motioned, trusting him to be right beside her.
Roxas knelt down and grabbed some snow in his hand after a few moments, holding it to his scraped up cheek. It would keep down swelling for now and hopefully wash away some of the blood. He didn't talk to Namine for the first few minutes, not wanting to tell her what was on his mind. You could be in danger too...because of me.

Riku made it back to the street he left Lightning on, but...he didn't see her among the people that were around. "Lightning?" he called, thankful the people around were still waking up. It gave him a better view of who was around, and who wasn't. He went to where he left her...and that was when he tensed. Blood... Not a lot, but there was blood. Riku instantly felt his heart rate increase, his eyes darting around for the girl. "Light?" he called again, this time his voice showing worry. Where was she?
But...I mean...what do I do? Roxas didn't want to forsake his life here. He was finally happy, doing well in school and with his music. He was his own person, apart from Sora and the Keyblade. Until today. He was being dragged back into that life, and he hated it. But...to uphold the oath he made to himself, he'd have to utilize the Keyblade. And with that, he'd have to accept the responsibilities and danger that came with it. Was Namine worth that?

Riku took a step forward, and that was when he looked back down. There were footprints here...other than his own or Lightning's from before. But...they were scrambled, as if someone was struggling. Riku knelt down and touched one of them, recognizing it as one of Lightning's shoes, though the size helped as well. Lightning, he thought sadly. Someone...kidnapped her. Riku's eyes instantly hardened as he recognized where the footprints stopped. "Xehanort," he hissed. They took her through a portal. Lightning was gone.
...Yes, Roxas thought, briefly glancing over at the blonde. Yeah, she's worth it. She was his best friend. Over the past few months, he realized that they had more in common than just enjoying art. They both genuinely enjoyed each other's presence, and not just because everyone else was gone. He didn't like admitting it necessarily, but Namine meant something to him. That was why he'd protect her.

Riku rose to his feet, seeing that some people were looking at him. Probably because of his outbursts. "Everyone all right?" he asked, looking around. He saw some nods and heard a few moans, but he didn't really have time to make sure everyone was clear of scratches. He had a new mission: getting Lightning back.

Namine felt Roxas's gaze on her multiple times as they walked, and that was when she finally looked over at him. "...You okay?" she asked softly. She hadn't asked that since she saw him. As hard as it would have been to believe a little while ago, she and Roxas were actually good friends. She guessed it took everyone else's disappearances to make them truly realize it.

Roxas looked over yet again, but this time, he met Namine's eyes. "Yeah," he said with a small nod. Yeah, he was okay. As okay as he was going to be, considering the circumstances. He was being hunted, and the girl beside him could be as well. Though she didn't know it. As long as he had a say in it, she wouldn't need to know. He lifted a hand, setting it on her shoulder. "Just stay with me for a while. Everything's weird right now." That was the best way that he could put it, though she wouldn't understand his concerns. Again, that was okay.

Namine glanced at the hand on her shoulder briefly, her eyes going back to Roxas's. "Sure," she said in agreement. Honestly, she didn't know what else she could have done, or where else she could have gone. Besides...she was so used to Roxas's company, she didn't want to be with anyone else.
Roxas nodded faintly, taking his hand off Namine's shoulder after a few moments. After that, he and Namine didn't have much conversation, again. They walked around the island and checked to see that people were alright. Most people were looking out for each other, so they were alright. Roxas and Namine had no trouble making it back to the ship in time, seeing Sora and Kairi there as well. He wasn't sure what they were doing, but they'd find out soon.

Kairi glanced behind Sora while he spoke to her, and that was when she saw Roxas and Namine. Well, at least they were alright. But...where was Riku? He was never late to anything. She looked back to Sora and motioned with her head to the people over his shoulder. Though Roxas and Namine weren't originally involved in this journey, they were now. Because of Xehanort.
