Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Point being that your heart is a victim to the Darkness if you don't stop hiding behind your shell," Riku said, putting it bluntly. "Been there, and it nearly killed me. I doubt that's a fate you rea

Sora looked over his shoulder, glad to see Roxas and Namine. It was good to see them, especially the former. Apparently Xehanort hadn't returned for him, so...where was Riku? He was thinking along the same lines as Kairi; Riku was never late to anything. He was normally early, yet he would be the last one here. Something must have been wrong...

Riku ran along the beach, having just left the suburbs. Lightning was knocked out from the spell, and then kidnapped. At least she fought back. That was the Lightning Riku knew. "Hey!" he called to his friends, attracting the girls' attention. They had a problem...
"Hey," Sora called in response, not immediately picking up on Riku's tone. But as he got closer, he noticed that his friend appeared troubled. "What's up?" Riku had gone back to check on Lightning, so...maybe they just had a rough time saying goodbye. It made sense, considering how Riku just disappeared off the islands two months ago from Lightning's perspective.

Riku slowed his pace until he stopped in front of his friends, eyes hard in worry and anger. "Lightning's gone," he said, seeing the fear on Kairi's face instantly. "Xehanort took her." He wasn't sure why, but she was gone. Was it something Riku did? Did he put her in danger?
Sora blinked in surprise, that being the last thing that he expected to hear. "What?" he asked, though he realized that was a stupid question. "How? Why?" Why would Xehanort take Lightning? It made absolutely no sense to him. Did Riku have any clue at all as to why she would be kidnapped? Not that Sora didn't believe his friend, because if Riku was saying it, he was certain it was the truth.

Riku shook his head, particularly at the last question. "He must have gotten to her right when she woke up," he said, glancing to the side. "Her blood was on the ground. She struggled." But it didn't work. Lightning was off the Islands, and he wasn't sure why. That was what was most disturbing, other than the fact that she was in danger.

"Okay, well..." Sora looked around the group, seeing that everyone else was quiet. "...What do we do?" Lightning was taken, but where to? And why? He was so completely confused... He hoped Riku had some idea of what they should do next. He was intelligent enough that he should have had some idea.

"The last time Xehanort messed with us, he was in the dream version of The World That Never Was. Remember?" Riku said, speaking mostly to Sora. Nobody else knew of what happened other than Kairi, and not even she knew the details. "Best guess? He's in the same world." If they went there, they could probably find Lightning too. It was their best bet.
Sora frowned, looking away. He wasn't eager to return to that world, but... "Let's go, then," he said quietly. He looked back up at Riku, eyebrows furrowed in seriousness. That world didn't exactly hold the best memories, even if he was unconscious for a lot of the action. Riku probably hated the world as much as he did.

Riku saw the look on Sora's face, and he matched it, though his expression wasn't as extreme. He nodded, motioning for the others to get on the ship. He saw Namine and Kairi turn and start up the ramp immediately, and soon he, Roxas, and Sora followed. The World That Never Was could be the farthest thing from their favorite world, but it was their only destination now. They had to get there and find Lightning, and Xehanort.

Later...

Lightning kicked at a bar of the jail cell, grunting when it didn't give way at all. This wasn't good at all. She woke up and some kook with a demon floating behind her back was there, ready to whisk her away. Obviously she fought against him, but she hadn't stood a chance. That was how she found herself here, off her home world for the first time and behind bars.

"You're wasting your energy," Ansem said, his voice echoing around the room as he observed the woman from his place in the air. Invisible. He always did appreciate this more than making his presence known; it was much more entertaining to see what they did when they thought they were alone. Like kicking at iron bars. Pathetic.
Lightning's eyebrows furrowed more deeply at the voice, and she fought any urge she had to react to it. That was the voice of the one who kidnapped her. She recognized it even in this environment, and she chose to ignore it. She stepped back and gave the same bar another kick, hearing her result. Just a small ringing for her efforts. Nothing more.

Ansem chuckled darkly, then appearing just outside the jail cell. "Just like Riku," he commented lowly. "Relentless in your efforts." The young man would never submit to the Darkness, and this one seemed to be following the same path. But that would change soon enough.
Lightning lowered her foot to the ground, stepping closer to the bars as she glared at the man. "Oh I'll show you just how relentless I can be," she said lowly. "Let me out!" She may not have stood a chance against him, but that wasn't going to stop her from fighting against him. He would pay for kidnapping her, whether that punishment came from her hand or somebody else's.

"A meaningless effort," Ansem replied lowly, continuing with what he said before. "The bars are indestructible, from the outside in. The only way you'll be freed is if we release you." Lightning's energy would be wasted, and she may need it later. If Roxas didn't come through for them, they had special plans for her.
Light glared at him, lifting a hand and wrapping it around one of the poles. She looked up and around, trying to see if there were any vulnerable points that she could use to her advantage. But there weren't. Like the man said, the only way out was if they released her. Could she be cunning enough to make that happen? She sincerely doubted it. She knew nothing about these people.

Ansem only smirked. "Not even the Keyblade Master will be capable of freeing you," he said in taunting. "He'll discover as much when he gets here." Riku would be coming for Lightning soon, that much all of them knew. They were prepared for him to arrive, as well as the others. Everything would go according to plan.
Lightning's eyes were vicious as they landed on the stranger again. "And who are you to act like you know him and his abilities so well?" she asked lowly. This guy was acting like he knew Riku as more than just somebody he fought against sword to sword. She had no clue what his relation really was to Riku; pictures of Ansem were never present in textbooks.

"So Riku hasn't told you?" Ansem asked, humor in his tone. Oh, this was priceless. He crossed his arms, looking down at the young girl who had touched the Keyblader's heart. "...I'm his demon." Xehanort's Heartless, and Riku's previous possessor.

Lightning froze. Riku had told her about his past, and some of his struggles with Ansem. She could never forget the night he spilled some of his deepest, darkest secrets to her. And this man...was at the center of so much of it? If she had been smart, she would have pulled her hand away from the bars, but she was too surprised to move or retort.

Ansem instantly started laughing, tilting his head back slightly as the Guardian appeared. The beast grasped Lightning's wrist tightly, pulling her roughly toward the bars, even closer than she had been. Ansem lowered his amber eyes to Lightning's, his dark laughter slowly fading. "Would you like a taste of what the young man endured?" he asked, standing in front of the bars as he leaned down to be closer to the girl's face. A little bit of torture wouldn't hurt, now would it?
Light's eyes danced in fright, though they stayed locked to Ansem's anyway. No, she absolutely didn't want a taste of what Riku went through! She knew it was horrible for him, so it'd be unbearable for her. He was too strong for her. Instantly she wished Riku would appear, but she knew he wouldn't. He probably didn't even know that she was here...

"Guardian," Ansem said lowly, calling to the demon. Instantly it disappeared, the contact with Lightning's skin allowing it to disappear into her being. It would mess with her heart and mind, but not too much. Ansem just wanted to make himself very clear: Lightning would not be leaving the Castle. She would suffer worse if she tried.
Light gasped, suddenly feeling cold. So cold that she was surprised when she couldn't see her breath when she exhaled. She slowly sank down to her knees, shivering as she lifted a hand to her head. He was...inside her. Digging around in her heart, bringing up some unpleasant memories. Ones like the feeling she had when she realized Riku left without saying goodbye and didn't return to say hello.
