Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Ah, yes," Ansem said, able to see what exactly was going on in Lightning's heart. His Guardian was sharing it all. "The vulnerability of the heart... Such a strange thing." He chuckled darkly as he looked down at the girl, allowing the Guardian just a few more moments. The message had to be clear, now didn't it?
Light grunted, looking up at Ansem with angry eyes. She was scared of what was going on inside of her and what he was doing to her, but it didn't stop her from doing her next move. She rose to her feet and brought up an arm through a slot in the bars, aiming it for the underneath of Ansem's jaw. But a few inches short of reaching him, her muscles froze, as if she were being held in place.

Ansem instantly began to laugh, looking at the girl in amusement. "You wish to hurt me?" he asked, though the answer was obvious. "Another meaningless effort." He told the Guardian to return to him, and the man took a small step back. "Thank you for the...entertainment, Lightning. I'll let Riku know how upset his disappearance made you when he arrives."
Lightning had to grasp the bars before her with both hands, suddenly weak after the Guardian left her. She lowered her head, her bangs hanging in her face as she tried to regain her composure. But...That had been pretty frightening. It happened before she had any clue of what was going on. She had no clue what to do now. These weren't some bullies she could slug and chase away.

Ansem turned, the Guardian disappearing into thin air as the man made his way out of the room. His footsteps echoed off the walls, but he was satisfied with that sound alone. No retorts from Lightning, no struggling to escape the jail cell. His torture worked well.
When Ansem was out of sight, Lightning couldn't help herself. She leaned her head against one of the bars, fighting the urge to shake either from the cold or from her experience. "...Riku," she heard herself whisper hoarsely, her voice nearly a whine. She felt moisture gather in her eyes, threatening to spill. She needed Riku, but...but he wouldn't come.

"In due time, Lightning," Ansem called from his place near the door. He glanced back at the girl and smiled darkly, amused by her response. She was calling for the Keyblade wielder? How pathetic. He wouldn't get to her before he was dead.
Lightning furrowed her eyebrows, angry that Ansem was interrupting her again. "In due time, you'll be gone for good," she threatened quietly, glaring at him even if she couldn't see him too well from her spot. Even if she couldn't bring about his demise, Riku could. She believed that with all her heart.

Ansem's smile remained. "Not even in dreams," he countered lowly. Riku and Sora couldn't even get rid of him in their dreams, and he still haunted the Master's dreams to this day. It wasn't likely that his time would come soon. He left the room without another word, leaving Lightning to her pathetic cries for Riku.
Lightning stared at Ansem as he left, staying silent for a few moments. She wasn't sure what that cryptic message meant, but she wasn't going to question him on it. Calling him back into the room would be completely idiotic. She shouldn't have humored him by speaking to him in the first place. Angry at herself, she fired another kick at one of the bars. She had to find a way out of here.

Ansem appeared in his chair in Where Nothing Gathers, seeing the others that were seated as well. Save for one empty seat, of course. "Our prisoner is intent on escaping," he informed the others. "But I've made myself perfectly clear that she will not succeed." The Guardian helped with that, too. And did fairly well.
Young Master Xehanort shook his head, speaking to himself as much as the others. "It's a shame we must be bothered with such things," he said. "But I did warn Riku this would happen if he interfered with Roxas." That was why they had to bring Lightning here. They didn't care about her necessarily; just Riku. Unless she proved to be of further use to them.

"The Keyblade Master has always been troublesome," Master Xehanort replied, looking down at his pupils. "No matter. Our goals are hardly half met. We have yet to retrieve Roxas, but I have a feeling our Keyblade wielders will lead him straight to us." Now, they waited. It was as simple as that.
Isa sat in his chair, obviously at a lower level than Master Xehanort, so he looked up at his superior. "If Roxas is as resistant as he was a few years ago, our plan could falter," he stated lowly. If no ounce of Roxas was open to Xehanort's heart, then it would be rejected and destroyed. Perhaps it was time they considered a new pawn...

"Perhaps," Master Xehanort acknowledged with a small nod. His eyes were set on the lowest, empty chair in the room. "Good observation, Isa. Shall we seek another route?" He believed they could have some use for Lightning, after all. If Roxas failed to fall into their hands, Lightning could be their next vessel.
"I would suggest so," Isa responded, certain that the question was directed at anyone in the room but choosing to answer it anyway. "Unfortunately, I see no other fitting candidates." They didn't want to resort to Roxas at first. After Sora failed them, they searched the worlds for somebody who could be Xehanort's new clone. Yet they found nobody.

His hood still drawn, a man sat in a chair of mid-height. No one could see the smirk that suddenly formed on his face, but he looked up at Master Xehanort anyway. "I do," he said, attracting everyone's attention. "A very...reliable candidate, if you ask me."

"Out with it, Cedric," Master Xehanort ordered with a motion of his hand. Who was he referring to other than Roxas?

Cedric smiled at the superior. "Lightning," he revealed lowly.

"Lightning," another one of Xehanort's pawns, Jihl, remarked with a scoff. Jihl was the only female in the current Organization, and there was a reason for that. It was rare to come across a young woman who was physically fit, sadistic, and the embodiment of evil such as she was. Cedric's daughter was nothing compared to her.

"Attitude is not necessary, Jihl," Cedric replied, glancing over at the woman. Of course she would reject the idea; Jihl wanted to be the only female member of the Organization. Unlikely. If Roxas failed, Lightning was the next best suitor.

"What would make you think that Lightning is a capable candidate?" Isa asked, though he also had his doubts about Cedric's assertion. Lightning was, after all, on the side of the Keyblade wielders. She was going to be as much of a hassle as Roxas, from the impression he received of her from Ansem.

Cedric pushed his hood away, revealing his face to the group. He had a strong resemblance to Lightning, though his hair was a light blond. His blue-turned-amber eyes focused on Isa as he smiled. "She's strong...that much I know. I have the ability to sway her," he told them. "Trust me."

Xehanort frowned, looking up at his elder self. "We grow desperate," he stated. Each day that they delayed, the other side could gather their strengths. He feared Master Aqua and Ventus. "Perhaps we should try." They had Lightning here and the Keyblade wielders had not yet arrived. If they could get their thirteenth pawn now, everything would be settled.

Master Xehanort closed his eyes, his hand resting near his mouth. "Mm," he hummed lowly. He then looked to his Heartless, nodding to him. "Take care of it."

Ansem smirked instantly. "With pleasure," he replied lowly. He would gladly take up that role. He disappeared into a portal, leaving the scene.

Riku had his back against one of the double doors, the other cracked open just slightly so he and the others could hear what Xehanort and his Organization were discussing. They were going after Lightning now...and the thought made Riku tense. He had to find her...

Lightning heard silence, and she knew that was her cue. She had escaped her prison cell and tried to find a way out, but she found herself outside a set of doors instead, listening to the group's plans...and talk of her. They were going to use her for something awful if she stayed; she knew that. In silence, she forced herself to move down a hallway away from where she had come from. They'd discover she was gone in a second and then search for her. She had to find a way out before then...

Riku looked to his friends, eyes hard as they locked on them. "We need to find her," he told them. And they had to do it quickly. Lightning was clearly in danger, and the Organization sounded like they had given up on Roxas. Or at least, that was what they were to believe.
