Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Roxas was relieved Namine wasn't mentioned in the group's planning session and neither was he, but he did feel bad for Lightning. "It sounded like they were bringing her back here," he pointed out. So...It was probably too late to search for her. Whoever portalled away would be back any second with her.

"Bad news," Ansem said, appearing just after he spoke. He looked to the others, though he focused solely on the Superior. "Lightning has escaped." He wasn't sure how or when, but it had to have happened within the past ten minutes. That was when he left her in the dungeon.

Riku turned his head to look into the crack of the door, having heard what Ansem said. Lightning got away? He couldn't see Xehanort from where he was, but he could see a few others, and their expressions weren't pleasant.

Master Xehanort's eyes hardened considerably. "All of you, search the Castle!" he ordered instantly. "Find her immediately." They couldn't lose their thirteenth vessel. Master Xehanort didn't panic easily, but their time was depleting, and rather quickly.

Isa smirked faintly--a rare occurence for him. "It appears you were right, Cedric," he said to the man. "She could be a suitable candidate after all." If she escaped that prison cell, then she must have been stronger than he originally perceived. He was all right with being proven wrong, especially in this case. One more vessel and then they could seek ultimate power. He vanished from his spot, going to search the castle along with several others.

"Cedric?" Kairi whispered in question. Who was that? Regardless, she could faintly hear portals being summoned, which meant everyone was leaving the room. That was enough of a cue for the rest of them to do the same. They had to not only watch out for thirteen villains, but they had to navigate the grounds in order to find Lightning as well. She hoped they could find Lightning first.
Sora looked down the hallway that they came from, eyebrows furrowing. "Split up," he said quietly, taking a leadership role in this case. "Take down anyone you can, but do it quietly." If any of the Xehanorts put up a fight and did it loudly, a lot of others would come and overwhelm their side. They couldn't have that happening.

Namine blinked in confusion. "What do you want me to do?" she asked softly. She had no self-defense training, so she was helpless. Who did she go with?

Riku motioned to the other blond in the group. "Stay with Roxas," he said. "That okay with you?" He was asking the Keyblader now, making sure that he was able to take care of Namine and watch his own back in the process. It was a tough task, considering who they were dealing with.

Roxas glanced at Namine and then at Riku. "Yeah," he said quietly, voice low with seriousness. In fact, he preferred things to be this way. He promised himself that he'd keep her safe from this Organization, so that was what he was going to do. Even if she wasn't really a target and he had been mistaken earlier, he'd keep his oath.

Riku nodded, then looking to Sora and Kairi. "Good luck," he said. Right after he said it, he hurried down the hallway, taking a turn and venturing away from his friends. He trusted them to keep their guards up; it was the only way to ensure everyone got out of this alive.
In another part of the castle, Lightning was feeling a bit foolish. Yes, she was good at staying quiet, but staying hidden in the shadows of such a white place was impossible. If somebody saw her, then there would be real issues. Especially Riku's demon. She nearly shivered at the memory of him, trying hard to stay composed. She just...wasn't suited for this. She wanted to go home, but only if Riku would be there.

"Submit!" Ansem cried, sending a ball of dark energy at Lightning. How foolish did she think he was? He could see her clear as day where she stood. Imbecile. Levetating, Riku's demon moved toward the girl, already aware that she would dodge his attack. If Cedric was as tough as he said she was, it would be simple.

Lightning grunted, ducking into another hallway and instinctively bringing a hand to her arm where the Guardian touched her before. It was covered by the leather coat she had discarded earlier when Ansem was with her, but she didn't leave it behind in the jail cell. Riku gave it to her. Forgetting silence for now, she turned and ran down this new hallway. Of all the people to run into, it had to be him.

Ansem kept his arms crossed as he followed the girl, letting her think she was gaining some ground. But he would reappear next to her soon. And then the Guardian would snatch her. "Give in to the Darkness," he said lowly, dangerously. His Guardian came out before him and released blades of Darkness that zoned in on Lightning's location. She would be their newest vessel.
Light's eyes widened at the vicious attack, the young woman ducking into another hall and running more quickly but also more quietly. There were several hallways here that she could turn into, so she kept on changing her path so that she was in different, short paths. She could only hope that they wouldn't take her to dead ends, where Ansem could corner her.

Unaware of what was going on only a few hallways from him, Riku traveled down the corridors of the castle silently and quickly. Lightning, c'mon...he thought. Where are you? He knew she was light on her feet, and quick too. Which meant she could have covered some ground by now. But Riku wouldn't give up. He couldn't, not on her.
I think...I lost him? Lightning thought, walking backwards silently as she looked the way that she came from. There was no sign of Ansem anywhere and no attacks coming at her anymore. It wasn't good that she had no clue where he was, but at least it didn't seem like he was here with her. Was this too good to be true?

Riku glanced behind him, stopping when he thought he heard footsteps. He listened carefully, and sure enough, he was right. Unfortunately, the foot pattern didn't match Lightning's. Riku quickly ducked behind the nearest wall, which ended up leading to another hallway. Quietly, he walked backwards, moving slowly as to not make a sound. Who was following him?
Since the other person in the hallway was just as quiet as Lightning was, she didn't realize that there was another presence until it hit her. Not in a bad sense, but in the sense that she felt panic spike as her back came in contact with somebody else's. She froze, too startled to turn around and see who she came in contact with. If she hadn't been so paranoid about Ansem, she wouldn't have been in this awful position right now.

Riku stopped when his back met someone else's, and he silently summoned his Keyblade to his hand in caution. He told himself to remain calm as he glanced out of the corner of his eye suspiciously, but that was when he caught onto the person's scent. Only a hint of Darkness...and roses. Riku felt relief flood his heart as he turned around, summoning his Keyblade away as he wrapped his arms around the girl. Lightning...
Lightning felt herself turned around by the person behind her, startled by that fact alone. And then when they embraced her, she was completely awestruck. Instead of struggling, she looked up at the person and realized the truth. She grunted weakly in awe and relief, allowing herself to relax in the person's arms for a moment. It was Riku.

"Light..." Riku said into the girl's hair, one hand cupping the back of her head while the other was wrapped around her shoulders. "Thank goodness...." He found her. She was okay... He couldn't believe it.
Light forced her eyes to shut, her heart still beating ferociously. She couldn't believe it. Not only was he here, but they found each other. She weakly hugged him back, hiding her face in his shoulder. It had been two long months since she saw him last. These weren't exactly the ideal circumstances to be reunited, but she was so glad to be with him now.

Riku held Lightning for another moment, taking in the scent of her hair and the feel of her warmth. But that was when he opened his eyes, suddenly sensing a lot of Darkness. This reunion... It couldn't last long. He pulled back from the embrace, putting his hands on Lightning's shoulders. "We'll talk later," he said lowly. "Stay with me, okay?" They had to make a run for it, or Riku would have to battle Ansem.
Lightning nodded faintly, looking up at Riku. Something about him changed since she saw him last; she could tell that much. But she definitely wasn't about to bring it up now. She had a guess at why this reunion was being cut short. "Don't have to tell me twice," she said quietly. She wouldn't be leaving his side now.

Riku fought the urge to smirk, glancing behind Lightning to see a shadow forming on one of the walls. He almost told Lightning to come with him in the opposite direction, but that was when Riku glanced over his shoulder. Those footsteps he heard earlier...whose were they? "This way," Riku whispered to Lightning, motioning for her to follow him as he started back the way he came. He kept his feet light, moving swiftly across the floor until he was at the newest junction. Riku peered around the corner cautiously, looking both ways for any signs of a villain. There were none.

Lightning followed Riku, her footsteps nearly silent as she stopped beside him against the wall. She didn't bother peeking around the corner with him; he could survey that area just fine without her. It was the other direction that she was worried about anyway. Especially when that shadow Riku saw was replaced by the person now. She winced in disgust, reaching over a hand and tugging lightly at his arm. They were clearly spotted by, of course, Ansem.
