Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Namine's eyebrows furrowed slightly at the way Roxas looked at her, even if it was a brief glance. Regardless, she took a few quick steps toward him to catch up, only walking a small distance behind, remaining close for obvious reasons. He was the only one who could protect her, after all. She had no other choice.
Roxas didn't force Namine to walk by his side; she probably felt awkward after the whole thing with Xemnas. The creep said a lot of awkward stuff, and they had no time to discuss it now. Besides, they still had to be quiet, in case any more members of the Organization were lurking. Fortunately, the Gummi Ship was a special one. It only appeared to those who it belonged to. Yet Roxas was still surprised to see it there. That meant the others escaped this world another way. Nevertheless, this was going to be his and Namine's way out of here.

Namine was relieved to see something familiar, and safe. The Gummi Ship. Still trailing behind Roxas, she approached the ship and got inside, feeling relief once they were there. It was safe here, away from the villains. They wouldn't know they were here, hopefully, so both she and Roxas could calm down. What just happened...it seemed to put a wall between the two of them.
Roxas sat down in the driver's seat in silence, starting the ship. He had absolutely no clue where they were going, so he'd fly instead of warping. All that mattered for now was getting away from this world and the Organization. He wished they could go home, but that wasn't safe anymore. That was the first place the Organization would look for them.

Namine took a seat in silence, and once Roxas started flying the ship, she sighed. She rested her elbows on her knees and put her hands over her face, her eyes automatically closing. After everything she just heard, she wasn't sure what to think anymore. What did Roxas think of her anyway? Did he love her like Xemnas said? Or was that just a lie to anger Roxas more?
Roxas glanced back at Namine, seeing that she wasn't buckled in yet. He rose to his feet and stood in front of her, looking down at her with softer eyes. "Buckle up," he instructed softly. Why on earth did he stand up to tell her that? He could have said it from his seat up front. She didn't look like she was okay right now, but...but he couldn't worry about her emotions. They had to get out of here.

Namine lifted her head, her hands still lingering in front of her face as she looked up at Roxas. Right, her seatbelt. Something as minor as that was the farthest thing from her mind, but Roxas was looking out for her. He cared about her safety. She nodded a little, tearing her eyes from Roxas's to buckle in as he instructed.
Roxas started back to his seat as Namine got buckled in, and he clipped himself into the front seat. He was certain Namine was situated by the time that he was, so he took the controls and drove the ship to the sky and out of this world. Wherever they were going, he promised Namine it would be safe for her.

Riku was standing near the window when he saw the Gummi Ship rise into the sky, and his only conclusion was that it was Roxas or Sora, since those two knew how to control the ship anyways. At least they got to safety. As for him and Lightning, they were stuck on this world, unless Riku could get both of them into the portal only a block or two off. Riku watched the ship fly off and disappear from this world, then turning his head to look over at Lightning. She had been asleep for a few hours, which was good for her recovery. Once she was ready, they would get going.
Light's eyebrows furrowed, the young woman lying on her side facing the fire as she slept. This wasn't the position that she fell asleep in. Her legs had been curled the way that they were now, but she had been sitting up and leaning against Riku. She winced, feeling jolted as she tried to force herself awake more quickly. Where was Riku?

Riku thought he saw Lightning move slightly, and so he left the window to approach her. The firelight helped him to see that she was waking up, and he hoped she got all of the rest she needed to get her strength back. Riku had gone days without sleep before, and tonight was no different. He would rest when this was over.
Lightning slowly opened her eyes, having a hard time moving quickly. Some of the weakness still lingered, that was for certain. But she could get by, as long as she wasn't alone. She set a hand on the ground before her, beginning to sit up and look around. She was....alone. Riku left her while she was sleeping.

Riku smiled a little at the way Lightning looked around for him. Seeing that...it made him feel important to her. "I'm right here," he said, walking up behind her and kneeling down at her side. He was just across the room, checking things out. They were safe for now.
Light jumped slightly when Riku appeared out of nowhere and spoke to her. She looked up at him with furrowed eyebrows and lightly hit him, hoping the message came across. This was the second time he scared her since making a promise not to do that anymore. But at the same time, she wasn't really mad. How could she be mad when she was so glad to see him?

Riku chuckled a little at the hit, unable to help it. She shoved him and punched him earlier, so a light hit was going to do nothing to hurt him. "Welcome back," he told Lightning softly. She had been out for a few hours, and by the looks of things, she appeared to be well-rested.
Lightning felt more like herself as she rolled her eyes at him. There he went again, ignoring the fact that he scared her. But he spoke in the same tone that he did a few months ago, though there was more care and concern behind his words now. She wished she could humor him in banter, but she couldn't adjust back to that so quickly. Especially in this situation. "How long was I out?" she asked quietly.

"Couple hours," Riku replied, shifting so he sat down behind and to the side of Lightning. He propped his elbow up on his knee, gazing at the fire. "I hope it did you some good. We'll have to walk out of here." Someone took the Gummi Ship, so walking was their only choice.

Lightning nodded faintly to both statements. A few hours was going to have to be enough for her; like Riku said, they had to get moving. She began to rise to her feet, though how she did it probably showed that she wasn't fully recovered. It didn't matter. She was in good enough shape to move.

Riku looked up at Lightning. "Give it a few minutes," he said of leaving. "The ship's gone, and I'm not sure whether anyone saw it go." They had to make sure the coast was clear before they went back outside. Riku had to keep Lightning safe, because it was essential to winning against Xehanort and because he made that promise. He wouldn't let her get hurt.
Light looked down at Riku and nodded faintly, though she had no clue how he knew a ship took off or that there had been a ship at all. She simply hadn't thought about it. Nevertheless, she started walking around the room, just to get a feel of how much energy she had. It was more than she originally thought, which was good. Riku couldn't drag her around this time.

Riku watched Lightning for a moment, but then he took it upon himself to douse the fire. With a flick of his wrist, his Keyblade was in his hand, and he casted a small blizzard spell on the flames. The room turned dark immediately. He turned, his eyes adjusting to the darkness quickly as he found Lightning. "You okay?" Riku asked, making sure she was stable enough to leave. They couldn't hide out for much longer.
Lightning looked over at Riku, not seeing him as clearly as before but still spotting him fairly easily. "I'm okay," she repeated with a small nod. Good enough to leave here and hopefully never come back. She wondered how he was though. Had he gotten any rest at all while she was out? "Are you okay?" It may have seemed like a random question, but she was concerned about him too.

"I've been worse," Riku said, approaching the window that Lightning was near. He peeked outside to see if the coast was clear, but it was still raining and thundering as always. He didn't see any enemies out there, and he didn't sense any Darkness. At least, not a strong smell like any of the villains. They were in the clear.
Light glanced over at Riku as he surveyed the outside world, seeing a look on his face that she didn't recognize. She didn't know that he was "smelling" for traces of Darkness and she didn't ask. Instead, she placed a hand in the middle of his back and stepped closer. She knew they had to go, but...She wanted just one more moment of peace. Especially since his response wasn't encouraging.

Riku glanced out of the corner of his eye at Lightning, but otherwise looked back out the window. "We should be set," he said, surveying the area. Just the normal Darkness of the world, no villains. Well, as far as he could tell. That could change once they got outside. "Area's clear."
