Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Point being that your heart is a victim to the Darkness if you don't stop hiding behind your shell," Riku said, putting it bluntly. "Been there, and it nearly killed me. I doubt that's a fate you rea

Riku went into attack mode immediately, charging at the pair. When he saw Cedric reach for his gunblade, Riku approached him first. He swiped at Cedric's feet and sent him to the floor, though he had to immediately dodge the bullets that were sent his way. Riku cried to a Thunder spell in the meantime, that way he could stun them while he was away. He had to keep Lightning from being captured again. She had to get out of here.
Lightning ducked her head to avoid the bullets, though they weren't coming directly at her in the first place. Something else was though. She grunted and rolled to the side in time to avoid Jihl's swinging baton hitting the ground. Jihl was obviously ticked off that Lightning outsmarted them and allowed Riku to have the jump on them. The girl sat herself up and swung a leg at Jihl's like Riku did to Cedric, forcing the girl down onto her back.

"Get back!" Riku cried to Lightning, one of his hands already charing with his Dark powers. Meanwhile, he kept up a shield against Cedric's firing bullets, reflecting them and causing the man to go at a different angle. This wasn't going as planned, but it was better than nothing, he supposed.
Unfortunately, Jihl didn't give Lightning the opportunity to get back as Riku ordered. Lightning barely started to rise to her feet when Jihl lunged at her and tackled her, the two of them rolling around on the ground. This was like a cat-fight, of all things! When Jihl ended up on top and lifted a hand to scratch at Light's already scraped cheek, her hand shot up to try and hold her back. The witch was trying to add insult to injury, along with a greater injury of course.

Riku saw what was happening with Jihl and Lightning, and he released the power in his hand immediately. The Dark power was sent toward Jihl at a thrilling speed, the young man hoping it would get her off of Lightning instantly. Lightning was holding her own, but Riku wasn't taking any chances.
Lightning released Jihl's wrist when another force pushed her off and over a few feet, the girl not wasting any time laying around and recovering. She rose to her feet instantly and faced Jihl, knowing she could at least help face the woman for a little while. Lightning had a better chance stealing Jihl's weapon than her father's, that was for sure. And getting close enough would be easy with how Jihl seemed intent on attacking her. She could do this. She had to.

Riku cried out roughly when he was struck with a bullet, and then another. Both in his sword arm. He turned his head, but ended up having to dodge roll out of the way to avoid another one of Cedric's bullets. He managed to get around Riku's shield while he was busy helping Lightning. He ignored the pain in his arm and chucked the Keyblade at Cedric, striking the man in the shoulder and forcing him to stop shooting. Riku cursed under his breath when his arm screamed in protest, but he had to push past it. This was survival.
Light's eyes turned vicious when she heard Riku in pain, though her gaze was still locked onto Jihl. After a few moments, the woman rushed at her again and Lightning pulled a stunt of her own. She swung around Jihl and grasped her long hair, yanking on it before giving her a rough kick in the middle of the back. Though Lightning didn't take pleasure in people's pain often, she did enjoy hearing Jihl cry out.

Riku surrounded his Keyblade in flames and went after Cedric, though the man recovered in time to deflect his first strike. The gun was now a blade, just like he created it years ago. Riku fought him without a retort, only cries of anger leaving him as he swung at the man who hurt Lightning so badly. He would pay for all the pain he caused her.
Lightning kept a grip on Jihl's obnoxiously long hair, swinging her around as she dealt kick after kick and then finally, a rough punch to the face. Jihl practically crumpled at that one, so Lightning released her hair and allowed her to fall to the ground. Jihl was definitely wrong to underestimate her. But so was somebody else here. She shifted her gaze to her father, eyebrows furrowed in seriousness even if she was victorious against Jihl.

Riku met Cedric blade for blade, the flames that had covered his weapon now gone from his magic being used up. He was stronger than the older man, and had a lot more energy. All of the practicing with the Keyblade and working out in the gym paid off. Riku pushed Cedric back roughly, blade against blade, before he lifted a foot and kicked the man square in the chest. Cedric flew back, hitting a puddle before rolling onto the dry cement.
Lightning suddenly felt a hand grasp her hurt arm and wrench it backwards, a pained cry leaving her lips. Of course it was Jihl. Lightning should have known better than to leave her alone. She felt Jihl pull it back further and harder, her lips trembling in pain. It felt like her arm was going to snap! She pulled her free arm forward and then shot it backwards, knocking Jihl in the face with her elbow and forcing her a few steps away. Lightning forced herself to kick the girl in the stomach and knock her down again before stepping away, damaged and possibly broken arm dangling by her side. ...Ouch...

Riku looked over at the girl he cared so much for, seeing her arm instantly. "Lightning?" he cried in fear, taking a step toward her, but that was when he was tackled to the ground. He rolled against the concrete with Cedric, getting punches dealt to the face when Cedric ended up on top and pinning him down. Riku grunted at each punch, but he managed to deal one of his own, forcing Cedric to the ground as he dealt his own punches to the older man's face. He didn't want to see him smile ever again, not the way he did when he looked at Lightning.
When Jihl attempted to rise yet again, Lightning kicked her again. That felt good, unlike the arm that she couldn't move. She blinked suddenly when Jihl vanished into Darkness, fleeing the battle. Jihl was fleeing from somebody who was weaponless? Really? ...Lightning actually won?

Riku continued his brawl with Cedric, blood for blood. His nose was bleeding from the blows he took, and so was his cheek from the scratches in the meantime. But he wasn't going to give up because of a little blood or the bullets in his arm. He had to protect Lightning from this creep!
Lightning looked over at Riku and her father, a ragged gasp leaving her lips at how it was no longer a fight with weapons but a brawl. "R-Riku!" she called. "That's enough!" He won the fight; slugging her father wasn't going to do any more good. A part of her hurt whenever she saw her dad get hit, even if he wouldn't feel the same about her. She'd need time to feel apathetic towards it.

Riku grunted when he was forced away from Cedric, who slugged him in the mouth. He shook his head to recover, but was only dealt another blow before he and Cedric were at it again. Lightning was crazy if she thought he was going to stop this now. This guy deserved to get beaten to a pulp--for murder, for hurting Lightning, and for abandoning his family.
Lightning stormed over to Riku and her father, seeing the latter on the bottom of the slug fight. "I said stop!" she yelled down at Riku, standing beside the two men. As if they would even notice her; they seemed content just slugging each other. But...she wanted it to stop. She imagined what it would have been like for Riku to meet her dad before today--she wanted her father's blessing in dating Riku. Seeing the opposite happening in reality hurt.

Riku was about to slug Cedric again, but he stopped at the holler in his ear. He had Cedric by the collar, his fist tight as he kept it at the ready. He breathed through his teeth heavily, glaring at the man as he tasted blood in his mouth. He didn't look at Lightning. Instead, Riku simply forced Cedric roughly into the ground a little more before rising to his feet, wiping at the blood leaving his mouth and nose.
Lightning didn't look at Riku as he rose. He wouldn't understand why she told him to stop. He didn't understand the type of relationship she had with her father growing up. She absolutely adored him...wanted to be exactly like him. Every moment she was home, she was doing something special with him. She was most definitely Daddy's Little Girl. She gazed down at her father, eyes sad.

Cedric sat up and spit the blood out of his mouth, ignoring the fact that Riku had to step back to avoid the blood. He used his cloak to wipe at the mess on his face and rose to his feet as well, looking to his daughter. His weapon lay a few yards over, and he wouldn't hesitate grabbing it if he had to.

Lightning saw the wheels turning inside her father's head; she thought much like him all these years. The first thing he taught her (and he did teach her battle strategy even at a young age) was to never be without a weapon. "Don't even think about it," she said quietly, in reference to his thoughts as her eyes locked with his. If he went for the weapon, that'd only make things worse for him.

Cedric only smirked, looking from his daughter to Riku. "As if you could truly stop me, sweetheart," he said lowly. "Only the Keyblade Master is capable of such a thing." He never planned on getting beat up like he was now, but Riku surprised him. Too bad he couldn't be used as a vessel. He would have been a fine one, indeed.

Lightning nearly curled both hands into fists, but beginning that movement made her broken arm hurt terribly. She lifted a hand to it and glared at her dad, the pain in her eyes not just physical. He always did call her affectionate names like "sweetheart" when she was growing up. It made her feel special. Now it just made her feel sick.

"Don't push me, old man," Riku snarled. He would tackle Cedric again in a heartbeat, and beat him even further. The only reason he stopped was because of Lightning, which he didn't quite understand. Riku could have finished him off just with his hands. Then the Organization's plans would have been destroyed.

Cedric started laughing, not caring that his teeth were stained red from the blood in his mouth. "As if you'll get the chance," he retorted lowly. The Master appeared confused and infuriated all at once, but Cedric could sense his comrade's return. She would prove his point quite well.
