Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"I see Cedric couldn't do the job," Jihl said lowly, tightening her grip on her whip. "I don't mind finishing what he started, little girl." Lightning's eyes were vicious, but so was Jihl's. How dare this girl be a candidate for the Organization?! The sad part was, she probably was worthy of it if she was able to escape Cedric. She swung her whip at Lightning, which the girl dodged before running at her and initiating battle with the sword. Whatever. I'll end it soon enough.

Riku fought to regain his strength, wanting to put an end to this. Why did this have to happen? He was supposed to protect Lightning! He was supposed to save her from anything like this! But...it was the opposite. He was the one in trouble, and she was saving him...
Lightning drew Jihl away from Riku with every move she made, barely avoiding the whip often times. The one time, she couldn't dodge to the side quickly enough. She lifted her sword, and the end of the whip twisted around it as Jihl yanked the weapon out of Lightning's hands. She grunted in shock, seeing her weapon slide along the floor to the side of the room. Oh no.

Riku groaned, lifting his head to look up at his restraints. Lightning managed to cut through a little of the rope. But...could he break it completely with a few pulls? Riku focused on that task, grunting as he used what little energy he had to pull on the ropes. He had to get out of this!
Lightning's eyes quickly darted back to Jihl, just in time to see the whip coming back at her. Her right had grasped her left as she lifted the wounded arm, crying out when the whip hit it harshly. She quickly adjusted her grip though, grasping both her arm and the end of the cord with her right hand. It hurt, but it kept the whip in place and greatly angered Jihl when she found she couldn't pull it back to her.

Riku heard Lightning's painful cry, and that fueled his fire. He tugged on the ropes a few times, breaking the rope a little with each pull. Eventually, it gave, and Riku collapsed to the ground in a heap. He groaned roughly at the burning against his skin, his wounds greatly hurting him. His back had been numb before, but the cold floor only hurt the injuries more.

Light yanked at the whip, practically having a tug-of-war battle with Jihl for a few moments. Enough of that! She was so sick of Jihl! And she was so, so angry at her for what he did to Riku! With fire shining in her eyes, she summoned a new kind of fire to the battle. Starting from Lightning's end and going over towards Jihl, a flame completely devoured the whip.

"What?!" Jihl shrieked. This girl just used magic!! And it was destroying her whip! She yanked at it and got what she wanted, though the whip was a quarter of its former length. As she stared at it, Lightning ran and retrieved her weapon.

Riku had looked up at the cry and seen what happened, his half-lidded eyes focusing on the fire before it went out. Riku stayed on his side as he tried to untie his ropes, knowing that he needed to stop being so weak. Whatever Lightning just did, it saved her some trouble, and he hoped that she could keep that up. He would need a little while.
Lightning shot bullets at Jihl as she ran at her, seeing several hit in minor places before Lightning collided with her. She shoved Jihl back into the wall, her gun now a sword as she held it across the woman's throat. Lightning was breathing heavily from pain, anger, and desperation. Jihl was finally breathing heavily in fear. She was right to be afraid. Lightning wasn't herself. She actually was capable of slitting Jihl's throat here and now. She snapped. Broke.

Riku managed to get the ropes away from his wrists, but he didn't have the energy to do much else. He looked up at Lightning weakly, seeing her position, even through the cloudiness. He was so tired...but he had to stay awake. He had to make sure nothing happened to Lightning.

Jihl kept her eyes on Lightning, shocked that a girl so young and without proper training could get her into such a deadly position. Yet... "Your hands are shaking," she croaked, laughing. The sword wasn't even directly across her throat anymore. Lightning came off as strong a second ago, but not any longer. "You're so weak."

Lightning gritted her teeth, pressing the shaking sword against Jihl's throat again. The woman winced, but she didn't get the chance to do anything else. "I just shot my own father!" she roared in fury. "You don't want to screw with me!" She wouldn't take it. She'd kill her here and now...She would. She wasn't weak...

Riku grunted lowly, hearing the outcry and cringing because of it. Lightning killed Cedric? Riku pushed himself to his hands and knees, fighting to even hold that position. He lifted his head weakly to gaze at the girl he cared so much for, not knowing what to do or say. What could he do in this state? Nothing. Not a damn thing.

Jihl's eyes widened considerably. "He's dead?" she checked.

Lightning glared at Jihl, and then...shook her head softly. She only shot to immobilize him. She shot him in the legs and took away the potion he kept in his pocket so that he couldn't heal himself. He probably was conscious by now, and most certainly not dead. Somebody probably saved him.

"You didn't shoot to kill!" Jihl laughed, catching onto what happened through logic. "You couldn't bring yourself to kill your mother's murderer! You really are weak..." How pathetic this girl was.

Riku ground his teeth together in anger, both at Jihl's words and the fact that he couldn't gather his strength. "Lightning," he grunted. She had to kill Jihl. If she did, the Organization would lose a vessel and have to broaden their search. It would buy them more time.
Lightning heard Riku grunt her name, but she didn't look over. Instead, she kept her trembling hands holding the gunblade. She already knew she was weak. She already knew that she was pathetic. There was no need for Jihl to keep rubbing it in her face!

Riku glared in Jihl's direction. "Lightning!" he urged her. She had to do it! This was no time for second-guessing herself. He never wanted Lightning to be a part of something like this, but now it was too late. Jihl was at the tip of her blade. What was she waiting for?
Jihl moved too quickly for Lightning. Before she even realized what was happening, the sword was shoved back at her and Light could only stumble backwards to keep balanced and not allow the sword to cut her. When she looked up, she saw a wounded Jihl retreating backwards into a black portal and fleeing the scene.

Riku hung his head, disappointed that Lightning didn't take her chance. But did he really expect her to kill someone? As strong as she was, he was asking too much of her. He fought to keep himself up, arms shaking. They had been in one position for four hours; it was likely that he would be this weak. The blood covering his body only proved what torment he went through. But it was worth it. All of it.

Lightning's hands shook so badly that she nearly dropped the sword on her feet. How could she let Jihl get away? After all she was responsible for... She reached into her pocket for the stolen potion and started over towards Riku, legs beginning to shake as well. It was so bad that once she was right in front of him, she fell to her knees. But she pulled out the potion and held it out for him anyway. It was a very strong potion according to the label. The strongest kind there was.

"No," Riku grunted, shaking his head when he saw the potion. He lifted a hand and weakly pushed it away, though he almost fell on his face due to lifting that arm. He caught himself, eyes still down. "You use it." He saw her broken arm; she needed it more than he did. Once he got his strength back, he could heal himself. Riku would listen for the snap of her arm to go back into place, though; he wouldn't look up in fear of seeing Lightning's expression. He probably looked...awful.
Lightning grunted and shoved the potion at Riku. No way was she about to use the potion! Riku was just whipped...for hours. Because of her. If she could have found this place sooner, he wouldn't have gone through so much pain. The least that she could do was take away his pain now. This potion was for him.

"Lightning, I said no!" Riku boomed, lifting his head to glare at her. He wasn't taking the potion! She needed it more than he did. A broken arm was worse than lashes in the back and chest. He would be fine; he'd gone through worse.

Light's eyes grew as large as saucers at Riku's holler. Something else snapped in her then. Her shaking hand dropped the potion in front of Riku, and though the bottle didn't break, that was all that was in their favor. A whine left her lips as she suddenly began to sob, overwhelmed. She just wanted him to take the stupid potion! She wanted to go home and forget her father was alive and caused all this pain...

Riku's eyes softened as soon as Lightning sobbed, not meaning to scream like that but... But he just wanted her to be alright. He lowered his head, fighting to keep himself up on his hands and knees. He didn't even have enough strength to summon the Keyblade!
Lightning turned away from Riku, leaving the potion to rest between his arms. "Take it," she hiccuped through her tears. Take the potion, because I won't. Her broken arm hung limply by Riku as she faced to the side, her good hand shielding her face. She was so pathetic, breaking down like this.
