Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Point being that your heart is a victim to the Darkness if you don't stop hiding behind your shell," Riku said, putting it bluntly. "Been there, and it nearly killed me. I doubt that's a fate you rea

Riku looked at the potion, closing his eyes as he reasoned with himself. If he healed himself...he could heal Lightning. He could help her, just like he promised. He reached forward and grabbed the potion, popping the cork and gulping it down. He felt relief instantly flood his body, the wounds on his chest, back, and face healing. It was then that Riku summoned his Keyblade, knowing that it was time he got rid of Lightning's pain too.
Lightning heard Riku drink the potion even if she wasn't looking over, glad that he could be free of pain even if she couldn't. Her body trembled due to the emotions and the continued crying, though she was desperately trying to keep it all together. Riku was just tortured. She shouldn't have been the one crying...

Riku flicked his wrist and muttered the spell under his breath, a green herb appearing over her head as the Curaga spell washed over her. I couldn't save you completely, he thought silently. But I can help you feel better. That was all he could do now, at least physically. Emotionally, both of them were messed up.
Lightning felt warmth wash over her at first, a sensation that she wasn't expecting. But the soothing nature of the Cure spell diminished after a few seconds. She cried out in pain when the bones in her lower arm snapped back into place. Even if she would have looked down at the arm, she wouldn't have seen anything since she was still wearing her leather jacket. Her hand was showing though, and that was drizzled with blood.

Riku pushed himself to his feet, though his body cried out in protest because he was so stiff. He looked for his vest and found it in a nearby corner. He stepped behind Lightning, lowering his hand to touch her head delicately as he started over to get his clothes. He and Lightning were beaten and bloody, but the former disappeared. They had to go get cleaned up somewhere, while they had the peace.
Lightning was more prepared for the second snap, though it wasn't any more pleasant than the first. She whimpered into her hand as the Cure spell finished, doing all that it could for her. Her arm was sore, but it was all right. She didn't watch what Riku was doing, instead keeping a hand over her mouth to muffle any sounds of crying. She felt like such an idiot right now...

Riku found his vest, starting to put it on in silence. He zipped it up to cover the blood and turned around, looking at Lightning. She was a sight for sore eyes, but...the way she was now, so broken and hurt, was far from what he had been hoping to see.
Light shut her eyes for a few moments, forcing her breathing to calm as she felt Riku's gaze on her. Though she kept her hand to her mouth, she managed to speak loudly enough for Riku to hear. "I'm so sorry," she said pathetically. I'm so, so sorry.

Riku shook his head, approaching Lightning in the dimly lit room. He knelt down in front of her and lifted a hand to her face. "Look at me," he said softly. He hated the sight of her blood, but he was going to ignore it for now; they would get cleaned up later. Right now, Lightning's emotional state was most important.
Lightning kept a hand over her lips to keep herself quiet, feeling Riku's hand on her cheek. Just the fact that he was able to do that made her want to sob again. Instead of doing that, she lifted her teary eyes to his face, a part of her fearing he would yell at her again if she didn't. She didn't like feeling that way...

Riku met Lightning's sad blue eyes with his aqua, shaking his head ever so slightly in disbelief. "You did...so much more than I expected," he said softly. "I didn't expect you to help me...but you did." He ran his thumb over her cheek, wiping at some of her tears. "...Thank you." There was no reason for Lightning to apologize; she did nothing wrong. She saved him.
Lightning felt her moisture intensify at Riku's gratitude. She may have saved him, but he still went through so much pain because of her... She removed her hand from her mouth and gingerly set it on Riku's shoulder as she leaned forward and gave him a kiss on the cheek. It was the first kiss she ever gave him, but it was necessary here. She just as carefully leaned her head on that shoulder, sniffling quietly as she felt his warmth again.

Riku gently wrapped his arms around Lightning at the kiss, the small gesture doing so much to him. "You saved me," he told her quietly, speaking into her hair as he embraced her. He was so grateful for that, and he was sure it was obvious by the way he spoke to her. Lightning was amazing just now, even if he did pressure her to kill. He regretted that...
Lightning buried her face in Riku's neck, though she was still being careful and not leaning into him much in case he was still wounded. And besides...her body still had a faint tremble to it. Surely Riku noticed that. "I'm so pathetic..." she said quietly, in reference to many things. She wasn't able to kill her father, she wasn't able to kill Jihl, and she wasn't able to stop shaking now. Pathetic, Claire.

"Don't say that," Riku murmured, one hand in Lightning's hair. It was so soft, and it smelled just like her--like roses. When he was being tortured, the person he wanted most was Lightning. He was startled by that realization, but it was true. Riku held Lightning closer to him at her trembling form, squeezing her gently, but not on the side with the sore arm. He didn't want to hurt her.
Lightning pulled Riku closer when he did the same to her. "I want to go home," she mumbled weakly. But she knew that was the last place she could go. The torture didn't change anything. She was still going to be hunted...There wouldn't be a single day that she was safe until Xehanort and his Organization was gone.

"I know," Riku whispered, gazing at the ropes that were once tied to his wrists. "But we can't go home. We'd be putting our families in danger." He could think of one place that was well protected, though, and it wouldn't require much work to get there. "But I know a place where you would be completely safe. No Darkness, no fighting, no pain." Disney Castle was their safe haven.

I'm not like you, Lightning wanted to say. I can't do what you do and stay away so easily... Instead of saying so, she asked him a simple question. "Will you be there?" She'd only be happy going to that place if Riku was there along with her. She couldn't be alone when she was like this. The pain would get worse.

Riku pulled back from the embrace, though he lifted his hands to cup Lightning's face. He looked her in the eye, wiping at the wet streaks on her cheeks. "...I'm not leaving you," he told her slowly. Not after this. He wasn't leaving Lightning's side for a long time.
Light heard a sound of relief leave her lips, her eyes locked onto Riku's as he held her face in his hands. If he was going to take her someplace safe and stay with her, that meant that he'd be safe too. He wouldn't leave and scare her again... She was so glad.

Riku gazed into Lightning's eyes and saw all of the fear in them, but also the relief at what he just said. "I didn't do a good job last time," he started softly. "But I will keep you safe. I can't lose you." He didn't care how sentimental or sappy he was being right now. He was telling the truth. Lightning was going to be protected.
Lightning wanted to throw her arms around Riku again at his promise, one she knew he intended to keep. Circumstance pulled them apart before, but he wouldn't let it happen again. She wouldn't be taken captive by her father again. Hopefully. She closed her eyes and nodded softly, staying silent. Really, there wasn't much for her to say.

Riku tilted his head a little, gazing at Lightning even if she wasn't looking back. "Let's go," he insisted. He wanted to get out of this place quickly. The Organization was close, and this world held awful memories for both of them. Disney Castle sounded really appealing.
Light nodded faintly again, though she opened her eyes and looked over where the gunblade laid. Earlier, she told her father that the gunblade was her weapon. Now that she actually had it, she wasn't sure what she would do with it. It wasn't as if she had the strength to kill anyone with it.

Riku rose to his feet in silence, his hands falling from Lightning's face and to his sides. He stepped back to give her room to get up, glancing toward the door. He didn't sense any Darkness from where he stood, which meant they had a clear path for the most part. Once they reached the portal and got to Twilight Town, he would take her to Yen Sid's and borrow a Gummi Ship. From there, they could reach Disney Castle.
