Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Riku released Lightning's hand after a small moment and turned the light off, then laying down in the bed. He rested on his back, staring up at the ceiling for a few moments before he closed his eyes. Within minutes, he was unconscious, just like he predicted. The hours of torture were too much for him, as was all of the drama surrounding Xehanort. Hopefully when he woke up, he would be more prepared for what was to come.
The next morning, both Lightning and Riku slept in late. Even though Riku was more tired than Lightning, he was also stronger and able to recover more quickly. And since Lightning was weaker, she needed to sleep for a while. That evened them out for their wake-up time, which was still mid-morning. As she came to, she realized two things. One was that she and Riku were tangled up in each other's arms. Another was that their foreheads were pressed against one another's.

Riku was always a light sleeper, but this time around, because his body was trying to recover from all it went through the past few days, he was in a deeper sleep than normal. He held Lightning close to his bare chest, his breathing even as he kept his forehead against hers. If he was awake, he would have told her that this would happen, and that was why he was willing to take the floor and let her have the bed. But she didn't listen, and this was the result.
Light exhaled a soft breath, pulling Riku more closely as she began to regain consciousness. She blankly realized where she was and what was going on, but not an ounce of her protested it. When Riku woke up, he probably wouldn't be protesting either. She felt the sun warming her along with the blankets, and obviously Riku's body was keeping her comfortable as well. She hoped he was content too.

Riku's hand moved up Lightning's back as he started to wake up, though it would take longer since his sleep was heavier. He realized how warm he was, and it reminded him of being home. That was one of the best feelings he could ask for.
Lightning hummed quietly when Riku's hand ran up her back, the motion not awkward at all. And neither was laying in the same bed anymore--this was comfortable after all that happened. Neither of them had wanted to be alone, and now they weren't. They hopefully wouldn't be alone again.

Riku released a relaxed breath through his nose, the intake allowing him to smell who was close. Roses...which meant Lightning was near. She was right in front of him, her skin against his in more places than one. "Morning," he murmured tiredly. He heard that small hum as he woke up, so it alerted him that she was awake as well.
"Good morning," Lightning murmured softly, gently pressing her nose against Riku's as she laid in her arms. He sounded awfully tired, but she seemed tired too. Despite the tiredness, he sounded happy. That was good, because she was too. There was no need to make this awkward, because it wasn't.

Riku smiled a little, unable to help it. "For a second," he said softly, voice holding grogginess, "I thought I was home." That was a good thing. Lightning made him feel warm, as did the sun. He thought he was on the Islands for a minute as he woke up.
Lightning hummed softly, her lips turning up in a small smile. "I wish we were home," she responded softly. "But this is a nice substitute." She may not have been able to return home, but she had a bit of home with her. Staying here just a little longer was a good idea to her. It was the first time she was really happy since it all began.

Riku hummed softly in agreement, his eyes remaining closed as he took in his surroundings. He knew that they were in Disney Castle, so the reason for sunlight was a given. And the comfort was also because of that. But half of it was due to the person with him. Riku took in the feeling of Lightning's arms around his back, against his bare skin. Not once had they been as close as this, in a bed of all things. But Riku wasn't objecting to it in the slightest.
Lightning gently ran her hand up Riku's arm, her eyes remaining shut along with Riku's. "I'm glad you didn't take the floor," she murmured bluntly. If he had been on the floor, this wouldn't have been happening. She wouldn't have slept peacefully in his arms and he wouldn't be in her arms. This was...great.

Riku took in a breath when Lightning's fingers trailed up his arm. "Me too," he admitted quietly. He had to admit, whenever he managed to get some sleep over the past two months, he sometimes pictured holding Lightning in his arms. He would tell her he was okay, that he would be with her for good pretty soon, and that he would make it home safely. He never got that chance, until now.
Lightning hummed in amusement, her lips again turning up in a smile. Riku had been the one to insist that he was on the floor, yet he was clearly very happy lying in the bed with her. She'd tell him "I told you so" some other day. This wasn't a moment she wanted to spoil.

Riku moved his head a little, rubbing his nose against Lightning's gently. He'd only done this a few times with past girlfriends, but it was different this time. Not because he and Lightning weren't in a relationship, but because it was her. Lightning was different than the others, for more reasons than one. And he liked it better that way.
Lightning gently rubbed her nose against Riku's as he did the same, subconsciously moving her mouth a bit closer to Riku's with the movement. This was called an Eskimo kiss; Serah told her that because she saw it in some cheesy show and thought it was adorable. Light thought it was silly at the time, but she would take back those words now. Though she had another kiss in mind now...

Riku lifted his hand, running it along Lightning's back before he cupped the back of her head, some of his fingers at the base of her neck. He opened his eyes finally, aquamarine orbs on the face before him. The sun was coming through the windows and covering the bed in some spots, but it was enough to make Riku speechless. Lightning was...beautiful.

Light felt a gaze on her after a few moments, so she slowly allowed her eyes to open. As soon as she looked at Riku, her breath was caught in her throat. He never looked at her quite like that before. He looked at her with care and adoration before, but this somehow was more than that. The same as before, but stronger.

Riku's gaze was locked on Lightning's, and he felt her stiffen slightly. He wasn't sure why, but he wasn't going to break eye contact. She was so close... He rubbed his nose against hers again, but only a little. "...I want to kiss you," he whispered, voice nothing but gentle with her. He wanted to kiss her badly, as he had for a while lately. But he would only do it if he was allowed. Riku didn't want to cross any lines.
Lightning's eyes only grew slightly in size. She already had a feeling he wanted to kiss her; everything in his posture screamed it. "I might be bad at it," she whispered, though her eyes confidently stayed locked on his. She didn't want him being mistaken; whether she was bad or not, she wanted to kiss him so much.

Riku couldn't help but smile softly, his teeth showing a little. "Can I be the judge of that?" he asked quietly. He doubted it was even possible for Lightning to be bad at kissing; she seemed so confident in herself. He didn't think that she would think she would be bad at it. But...he prefered to make that decision.
Lightning smiled as well, teeth faintly revealed as she moved one hand to sit on Riku's cheek. "Go for it," she invited in a whisper. Riku could be the judge of her kissing abilities, and she could critique herself as well. But of course, her skills or lack of skills were going to be the last thing on their minds when this was done.

"Heh," Riku laughed quietly, his eyes darting down to Lightning's lips. He saw that smile, and though he didn't want to take it away, he knew that it would be there when they were done. Riku kept his hand on the back of Lightning's neck and head, leaning forward the small distance that separated them, his lips finally coming in contact with Lightning's. His eyes naturally fell closed, but his heart soared.

Light's eyes flickered shut when Riku's lips connected with hers, her heart beating out of her chest at this one simple gesture. She couldn't believe she was kissing him. Or rather, eight months ago, she wouldn't have believed it. She hadn't even known him then...and about six months ago, he ticked her off to no end. Now they were cradled in each other's arms and sharing their first kiss. It was so crazy, but so good. So perfect.

Riku was known for kissing a lot of girls, given all the girlfriends he had in the past. But kissing Lightning was different. Instead of rushing it and adding tons of pressure, he kissed her slowly, gently. And the fact that she kissed him back, even if she did agree to it, was great. Lightning was wrong with what she thought; she wasn't bad at all. In fact, kissing her was amazing. It felt so right.
