Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Riku stood still, a few feet separating him and Lightning as Cedric remained in the room. The portal was still open behind him, but he was making no move toward it since Lightning had her gun to his chest. He almost told her to pull the trigger, but he wasn't going to put that kind of pressure on her again. This was her choice.
Lightning gritted her teeth, looking up at her father in fury. But the fury wasn't just directed at him; it was also at herself. She couldn't pull the trigger...She couldn't murder a murderer. Even if this person wasn't her father, she probably still couldn't have killed him. This wasn't good...

Cedric started laughing at Lightning. "How pathetic!" he said in amusement. Lightning still couldn't pull the trigger, even when she had the opportunity? She was weak, just like she said. But Cedric's laughter stopped when he suddenly felt a blade at his back, the tip pressing against the fabric of his cloak. Riku.

Riku didn't say anything, sure that his message was loud and clear. One threat to Lightning, and Cedric was dead. Xehanort would have to find another vessel in addition to the thirteenth. So Riku remained still, the tip of his Keyblade pressed to Cedric's back. "Lightning, go," he said. She needed to leave, now.

Light took a small step back, slowly lowering her gunblade. She knew that she was meant to flee; that was what Riku was trying to say. But leaving her father to die was the same as killing him, at least in her eyes. Could she leave him, just like that? Knowing what Riku would do...?

Riku looked to Lightning, though he didn't let his guard down. He nodded to her in silence. You can trust me, he silently told her. There was no doubt in his mind that he and Cedric would fight. But Riku wasn't even sure he could kill him. This was Lightning's father, even if he was the enemy.

Lightning slowly backed up another step, and then another, though she sensed something else then. Another tall figure behind her. She swung the gun-turned-sword at them, realizing quite suddenly that they were real too and not just a simulation. Cedric really wasn't planning on leaving without her...

"Ah, ah, ah," Braig said, having blocked the swing with one of his guns. He shook the other at Lightning as he tsked in disappointment. "That's not the proper way for a lady to greet a gent, now is it?" He heard Riku grunt his name in surprise, and he flicked his good eye over to the young man. "It's Braig, Keyblade Master. New and improved."

"As if that matters," Riku hissed. He couldn't believe that this was happening. How the hell was the Organization getting into this world?! Riku thought they were safe! They had been for the past few days!

Lightning glanced over her shoulder at Riku, keeping her blade pressed against the gun of this Braig person. The fact that he was so relaxed really wasn't comforting, at all. She looked back at him quickly, knowing better than to keep an eye off an enemy. "...Riku?" she asked quietly, seeing King Mickey, Donald, and Goofy run into the doorway to assist. The odds just increased, but the situation was still extremely dangerous. Especially when she noticed a third figure appear. Young Master Xehanort.

Riku was even more tempted to get rid of Cedric, just to tick off Braig and Young Master Xehanort. "How are you here?" he growled, looking from one villain to the other. All three of them should have had an answer. What was the deal? How did they get into Disney Castle?
"It doesn't really matter, does it?" Young Master Xehanort asked rhetorically. It didn't matter how they got here; it only mattered that they were. "Our plans with Roxas fell through, so now Lightning is our only option. As you can see, we are taking our pursuit of her very seriously now." They let her stay here for a few days, grow stronger...But they were here to collect her now. Along with another honored ally arriving now to assist.

Ansem appeared on the opposite side of the room from Young Xehanort, arms crossed over his chest as he observed the scene. He heard Riku curse under his breath at his appearance, and he only smiled. This was quite a sight.
"Now that we're all accounted for," Xehanort said, seeing his three allies that were here to help with Lightning's apprehension. "...Shall we begin?" He summoned weapons to his hands, prepared to take part in this battle from the start. Lightning was definitely coming with them today, no matter how much of a fight the others put up in the process.

Riku saw the Guardian appear behind Ansem, and Braig clicked the safety off one of his guns. He eyed each of them in caution, but then he decided to initiate battle. He thrusted his Keyblade into Cedric's back, taking one enemy down early. The man grunted and fell to the ground, but that was when Riku went for Young Master Xehanort. He fought him before, so he was familiar with his attacks. It would be best to take him down fast.
Lightning jumped away from Xigbar just in time for King Mickey to jump in and knock him away along with Goofy. Donald cast a spell to help Riku in battle, and that left Lightning with the last enemy. One of the members of the Organization that Lightning also feared greatly. Ansem. She eyed him cautiously, gripping the hilt of her sword tightly. She had to fight. She knew that.

Ansem only smirked at his opponent. "What do you hope to accomplish?" he asked her, allowing his Guardian to disappear from behind him. It then swung at Lightning with one of his claws, swiping in hopes of grabbing her arm. This was going to be too easy.
Lightning dodged out of the way, firing off bullets at the demon. Here was one person she didn't mind shooting at. Because he didn't seem human at all to her. Of course she couldn't forget when The Guardian went inside her heart and toyed with her...She'd never forget.

Riku wasn't surprised when all of the battles lasted for a long period of time. Cedric managed to escape between all of the fights, but none of the others made a run for it on either side. Riku grunted when Braig started teleporting around the room, shooting at everyone, unfortunately hitting Riku in the chest. Riku tried to pull the bullet out, but that distraction only encouraged other actions. Riku cried out when he was suddenly knocked away, being sent through the one-way mirror and into the observation room. He landed roughly on the floor, rolling into equipment. But the fights never stopped, not even if he was absent. The Organization was focused on getting Lightning, no matter what.
Lightning grunted at the shot that hit her leg, the girl taking a small step back in pain. She felt weakness overcome her suddenly though, everything going hazy. Little did she know that Xehanort saved a nasty trick for the end of the battle, and it was making people so tired they collapsed. That was what she felt like doing now.

Riku tried pushing himself to his feet, but that was when he was overcome by a sudden wave of sleepiness. "No..." he grunted. He knew what this was. Xehanort was putting that spell on them again. "Lightning!" he cried in desperation. He had to get her out of here!
Lightning sank down to her knees, unable to help it. She was just so sleepy all of a sudden... She felt a pair of hands grasp her one hand and gently tug her to her feet. It was gentle because Xehanort realized there was no need to force her to do anything. The spell wouldn't knock her unconscious, but it would keep her from resisting.

Riku forced himself to his feet, though he was incredibly unsteady. He grabbed onto a chair in the room to stay upright, seeing that somebody had a hold on Lightning. He wasn't sure who it was, but Riku knew that he would have to use his strongest spell to get rid of the Organization. One that he was taught soon after becoming Master. It would drain all of his energy, and was only supposed to be used in dire situations. Riku believed this qualified. He pointed his Keyblade at the training room and closed his eyes. "Give me strength," he asked of his heart. He felt energy suddenly rush through him, from his heart to his arm and then to the Keyblade. It was when he opened his eyes that a beam of Light shot out, covering the room. It was to hurt whoever was from the Darkness, the Light too strong for them. In his daze, Riku heard the Guardian screech in horror, and he was sure that Ansem was one of the few to flee.

Lightning felt Xehanort tighten his grip on her suddenly, pained. He attempted to hold onto her anyway and drag her a few feet over to a portal, but he couldn't do it. He released her suddenly and vanished, making the room suddenly empty of villains. What...just happened? It was so bright she couldn't see.

Riku's spell faded when his energy did the same, the young man grunting as he fought to keep his balance. But he was alert enough to see that the villains had fled. That meant Lightning was safe. Thank goodness. Riku felt the chair topple over, and he went with it, collapsing onto his side as he fought to stay conscious.
Lightning looked over at Riku, grunting when she saw him topple. Though she was still terribly weak, she picked herself up and sprinted over to him. She placed his head in her lap, whispering his name in worry. He was responsible for that spell; she knew that. But why was he so exhausted and weak...?

Riku opened his eyes, able to tell by the gentle touch and the pink hair in his vision that it was Lightning. "I'm okay..." he said softly. He just needed to rest for a second. He would be fine. Master Yen Sid warned him about that spell, and he wasn't kidding. It took a lot out of Riku.
