Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

While Lightning set a hand in Riku's hair, King Mickey went to go see the state of the Cornerstone--the thing that apparently protected the world. Donald and Goofy stayed nearby to guard in case people came back, though she doubted they would. Riku's spell seemed to chase them away.

Riku closed his eyes again, releasing a heavy breath. He just needed a minute, then he would be okay. He lifted a hand to Lightning's in his hair, wrapping his fingers around it weakly. He was just glad she was still here. He was afraid that Ansem would take her from him...
Light gritted her teeth, grasping Riku's hand tightly in response. She couldn't believe this happened again. This world was supposed to be safe, but they were ambushed. Her father would have taken her if she hadn't taken action... That fact had her pretty shaken. So did how easily he sneaked up on her in the first place. It was all scary.

Riku waited a few minutes before he released Lightning's hand, placing a hand on the floor to start pushing himself up. He recovered a little, but not a lot. He at least had to make it back to his room, that way he wasn't a heap on the floor. But he wanted Lightning with him. He didn't want her leaving his sight.
Lightning moved to Riku's side, gently setting a hand on the side of his head as she brought his head right next to hers. She wrapped an arm around him supportively, prepared to hold some of his weight. She knew he wouldn't like that, but she held all his weight before. The least he could do was lean against her now.

Riku hadn't made it far, only sitting up when Lightning made her move. He turned his head, placing a kiss to her cheek silently. "Stay with me," he requested softly. He needed her support for a little while, whether that was getting to his room or when he was already there. It didn't really matter. Riku just needed her.
Lightning nodded softly against Riku's head, lifting her hand to the side of Riku's as she kept him close. "I will," she promised quietly. She wouldn't be leaving him, and he wouldn't be leaving her. It was really that simple. No matter what happened, she hoped they wouldn't be separated again.

Riku took in Lightning's closeness for a moment before he decided that this would be better continued in the privacy of their own bedroom. He lifted his hand to the one against the side of his head, grasping it and gently lowering it. That was when he started to rise to his feet, though he stumbled a little once he was upright. Thankfully the ledge to the broken mirror was there, so he could grab onto that. He sighed. Riku hated feeling weak.
Lightning rose as well, wrapping an arm around his lower back and his front as well just to help him out. And just being by his side was an obvious plus. She rubbed a hand against his back lightly, gazing up at him behind pink bangs in silence. Was he okay?

Riku looked down at Lightning, and at her worried expression, he lifted an arm to wrap around her shoulders. He smiled weakly and nodded. He would be fine, but right now, he needed to get to his room. He started walking, and with Lightning's help, he got to the bedroom a little bit faster. He approached the bed and collapsed on his back, his feet still touching the floor as he gazed up at the ceiling. He wasn't severely wounded by anyone, but he was weakened regardless.
Lightning sat down on the bed beside Riku, feeling the bullet that was still in her leg stinging. Especially from supporting Riku. But she didn't complain, instead sitting down next to Riku and lightly setting a hand on his stomach. She blankly ran it over him, looking across the room. The peace that was there this morning still lingered somewhat.

"Are you hurt at all?" Riku asked softly, voice quiet in the otherwise silent room. He forgot to check, simply worried about getting up here and into the bed. Now that he was stable, at least physically, he was curious as to whether or not Lightning was injured. He didn't want to ignore that if it was present.
Light lowered her gaze to her lap. "It's nothing," she responded quietly. So to answer the question, yes, she was wounded. Mostly her heart was wounded by her father suddenly reappearing and trying to take her away, but physically...physically, it was her shin, closer to her knee. It was probably still bleeding.

Riku started to sit up, grunting with the effort as he looked over Lightning. "Bullet, huh?" he asked softly. Braig was always quick to fire those off. It didn't surprise Riku that Lightning got hit. Did it upset him? Of course it did. He never liked to see her hurt. But it was inevitable in that situation.
Lightning turned to face Riku, setting a hand on each shoulder as she gently pressed him down onto his back again. "Bullet," she agreed softly. But he wouldn't be getting up to take care of it. This pain wasn't nearly as bad as the pain she experienced a few days ago with her snapped arm. The bullet wouldn't be a problem for a little longer.

Riku looked up at Lightning, though he couldn't help but smile at the way she took charge. This was the Lightning he'd first met. He lifted a hand to her arm that was stretched toward him, gazing up at her. "What do you plan to do?" he asked softly. Clearly she wasn't going to let him help her, so what ideas did she have in mind for the wound?
"Leave it for now," Light responded softly, moving one of her hands to brush Riku's bangs to the sides of his forehead. "Some things are more important." She just wanted to take care of him for now. A few nights ago, she was extremely weak and he took care of her, crazy emotions and all. She hoped he wouldn't be emotional now, but she wanted to care for him nevertheless.

Riku lifted an eyebrow at that. "Some things?" he repeated in question. "Or someone?" His small smile remained, turning into the crooked one that always used to make the girls swoon back home. Lightning never fell for it though, not that he knew of. It didn't really matter, since he had her anyway. That was better than popularity.
Light found herself smiling faintly, Riku making her smile for the first time since everything went down. "Someone." She leaned down and placed a light kiss on his forehead now that his hair was out of the way, though her one hand remained on the side of his head and the other on his shoulder as she did so. Funny how easily kissing came now.

Riku closed his eyes at the kiss, humming with a small chuckle. So he was right. Good to know, but he still was worried over Lightning's leg. He would resist her if he had to, that way the bullet could finally be out. But right now, she didn't seem too worried about it.
Lightning withdrew her lips from Riku's forehead, running her hand over his hair again as she shifted her gaze elsewhere. She looked over at the window, seeing that the world was as bright and sunny as it had been the few days that she had been here. In a way, she was surprised it wasn't dark outside, considering the evil that managed to invade this world.

Riku opened his eyes when Lightning retreated, but he didn't follow her gaze to the window. Instead, he kept his eyes on her, running his hand along her arm. He was so glad she wasn't taken from him today. He would have been...a wreck. Riku was incredibly protective of her, especially after their true feelings were revealed. There was no going back from that.
Lightning moved her hand off Riku's face after a few moments, setting it on Riku's on her arm instead. She had been stronger the past few days as the news about her father sank in, but clearly it didn't sink in enough. She hated him but couldn't kill him. Every time she came close, she had flashbacks of the good times. She was too weak to put the memories behind her and do what needed to be done...

"Lightning," Riku said softly, calling for her attention. He could tell that she was upset over what just happened, but she had to understand that it was over. It had to be let go, at least for now. They would take down the Organization eventually, but if she was really going to be one of the seven Lights, she had to be stronger. Strong enough that her father didn't faze her.
Light hummed a quiet response to show that she was listening, but her eyes remained on the window. She could tell by his tone of voice that he was going to say something serious, and it probably had to do with this whole situation. She wished for just one minute that they could put all the bad things behind them and be happy, but that wasn't gong to happen anytime soon.
