Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Riku lifted his other hand, gently cupping the side of Lightning's face as he turned it to look at him. He wished she wouldn't let Cedric bother her, but that was asking too much. Cedric was her father, after all. It was too much for her, clearly, but...she needed to know that Riku was going to be there. She had to know by now, if she didn't already.
Lightning allowed Riku to turn her head; she knew there would have been problems if she didn't. But she didn't look him right in the eye, even if he probably knew what she was thinking. It wasn't too hard to find out, even though there could have been multiple things bothering her. Like what Master Yen Sid said a few days ago. But Riku made it very clear that she wasn't going to be involved in that.

Riku didn't say amything at first, just gazing at Lightning. She refused to look at him, but he wasn't sure why. Did she not want him to see what she was thinking? The eyes were the gateways to the soul, after all. Regardless, Riku leaned up, putting his weight on his elbow as he captured Lightning's lips with his own.
Lightning shut her eyes, moving her hand that was on Riku's shoulder to his arm instead at the kiss. They shared a lot of kisses in the past few days, and she liked to think that it was to make up for lost time. Before he left, they had come close to kissing. Like that day on the gym floor when she fell on top of him. Completely accidental, yet one of her favorite times with Riku. Definitely one of the most romantically tense ones.

Riku moved his lips with Lightning's, not ending the kiss. He wanted her to know that he was there, as he always had been. Maybe not physically for two months, but he was always with her. Their hearts were connected, even more now that they were interacting like this.
Lightning gently returned the kiss, rubbing his arm lightly. She knew that he was trying to make her feel better, and remind her that he was here with her and on her side. And that he was going to protect her, like he had done earlier. Xehanort had come so close to leading her away... Wait, that feeling that hit her earlier...It was just like what happened on the Islands. She halted the kiss, thinking about that. Were the two events connected?

Riku kept his lips near Lightning's, opening his eyes a little to look at her. "What's wrong?" he asked softly, running a thumb over her skin. She just....stopped, but why? Did he do something wrong? Did he come on too strong?
Lightning opened her eyes, catching Riku's eyes. How did she even begin? "...What happened earlier?" she asked quietly. "Why did I suddenly feel so...?" Why did she feel so faint? And did it somehow connect to what happened on the Islands? She hadn't had the time to notice others were affected by the spell, or that it was a spell at all. She just hadn't thought about her sudden unconsciousness since this all began.

Riku pulled back a little, though he kept his weight on his elbow. "What, back in the training room?" he asked. Lightning had to be referring to the time when Young Master Xehanort made them feel so sleepy. That was common when he was around.
Lightning nodded softly, realizing that she should have clarified that from the very beginning. She didn't suddenly feel tired just now; if she did, she probably would have fell over onto the bed. That tiredness had been so powerful and so sudden. It probably had to do with Xehanort, since he was the one who approached her.

Riku took his other hand back, putting his weight against that elbow as well. "That's one of Xehanort's tricks," he said lowly, eyebrows furrowing as he gazed at Lightning's necklace instead of her eyes. "He pulled that on me and Sora when we came back to the Islands to help Roxas." Lightning had unfortunately been a victim of that then, as well.
"That was the day I became involved, wasn't it?" Lightning asked, keeping her eyes on Riku's even if he wasn't looking into her eyes anymore. This was quite the change in roles, since just a minute ago, Light was the one avoiding eye-contact. So...Xehanort didn't just pull it on Sora and Riku, but Lightning too, since she was knocked out.

Riku frowned, glancing up at Lightning before diverted his gaze again. "Yeah," he said in confirmation. "He managed to knock the whole island out. I found you as soon as I realized what happened. But he still got to you anyway." That wasn't one of Riku's best moments, but at least Lightning was safe now.
"Wait, what?" Lightning said, blinking in confusion. Riku...found her? She didn't remember what happened, but then again, remembrance would involve knowing it in the first place. Since she had been unconscious, she had no way of knowing what was going on, or that Riku caressed her while she was unconscious.

Riku didn't look at Lightning, only focusing on the bedspread at the question. She had no idea what he was talking about, did she? Understandable, since she was out cold. Young Master Xehanort warned him about leaving her and going for Roxas, but the logical side of Riku knew that going for Roxas was more important than staying with Lightning. How was Riku supposed to know that Lightning would be taken captive?
Lightning looked down at Riku's chest when he refused to look at her. That was never a good sign, since Riku was a person who encouraged honesty. And the fact that he was keeping something from her...It must have been awful. She tightened her grasp on his arm and looked to the side. "...Tell me when you feel better," she decided quietly. He was probably still tired from earlier.

Riku's eyebrows furrowed at that, but he didn't speak a word of debate. He grabbed one of Lightning's hands and lifted it to his lips, closing his eyes with the gesture before he started to move to get more comfortable. He was still exhausted because of the spell he used earlier, but it was for good reason. He would recover and talk about this some other time.
Light allowed Riku to hold onto that hand, her gaze going down to her lap. She couldn't see the bullet in her leg from her spot, but she could definitely feel it. It was probably time to take care of that, since she wasn't a huge fan of unnecessary pain. She had enough pain in her heart anyway; physical wasn't needed too.

Riku rested his head on a pillow, closing his eyes as he kept a hold on Lightning's hand. He wasn't ready to speak with her about what happened to her...and because of him. She would be so angry with him if she found out. Riku couldn't handle that right now. It would have to wait.
Sleeping would also be a good remedy to the pain, so Lightning decided to follow a new course of action. She moved more onto the bed as well, grunting in pain as she scooted over to her side and laid down next to him on her back. Some of the sleepiness was still present.

Riku heard that grunt of pain, and he did what came naturally. He hung his hand over the side of the bed and summoned his Keyblade, then muttering Cure as he focused on Lightning. He imagined the bullet wasn't too deep, so the Cure spell would not only heal her, but push the bullet out of her leg.
Lightning looked down at the bed when the spell was done, seeing the bullet was out now. As her thanks to Riku, she nestled close to him and wrapped an arm over his torso. She exhaled softly into his side, allowing the topic from a minute ago to slide. They'd talk about that later. For now, the world seemed safe enough for them to rest in.

Riku let one arm wrap around Lightning, the other losing the Keyblade as he summoned it away. That spell took a bit of his strength as well, so he did as Lightning was and rested. He exhaled a soft breath, letting his eyes remain closed. After releasing that Light spell, it was time he took a nice nap.

Lightning awoke before Riku did; even his strength couldn't help him recover that quickly from the spell that he unleashed. She left him to rest and then returned to the training room, ordering King Mickey to reset the simulation with Organization members included and not let her out until she did what she needed to do. She couldn't be weak anymore. It was time to toughen up.

When Riku woke up, he was alarmed to find that he was alone. He immediately searched the castle for Lightning, managing to find Goofy and ask where she was. When he heard that she was in the training room, he rushed in that direction. Mickey already got the one-way mirror in the observation room fixed, and Riku guessed it had been over a couple hours since he dozed off. Regardless, Riku watched as Lightning took on Organization members...and actually defeated them.
