Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Kairi looked over at Sora and Riku when she heard her name. "Hey, with good reason!" she said, taking her arms back from Lightning's shoulders. "Riku always was the reckless one." She smiled at her friend in good nature, aware that introductions still needed to be made.

"The fearless one, you mean," Riku corrected, eyes dancing over his two best friends and then moving to Lightning. If he hadn't been fearless, he wouldn't have been able to save her. True, he got scared sometimes, but it was part of being human.

Out of the corner of his eye, Sora noticed Lightning roll her eyes at the comment. He focused back in on Riku, being smart with his words. "I'm gonna side with Kairi and say reckless," he said. "Especially with her." He jerked his head to Lightning, knowing Riku really was reckless when it came to keeping Lightning safe.

Riku ran a hand through his hair, smiling weakly. Only because I care, he thought in response, but he didn't say that. He and Lightning would only get more taunts from Sora and Kairi about their relationship. "It's Lightning," he said in his defense. "Need I say more?"
"Kairi thinks 'yes'," Sora smirked. He didn't know it, but she caught onto something he didn't--the fact that Riku and Lightning were going to kiss before Sora interrupted them. He could tell just by her expression that she wanted Riku to say more about what made Lightning so special and why he was so reckless.

Riku saw the look Kairi was giving him, and she waved a hand at him to explain further. He felt his cheeks heat up in embarrassment, and he lowered his gaze to the ground. "Um..." He cleared his throat. "Shouldn't you guys introduce us?" He motioned to Ven and Aqua, one of them he was certain he'd already met. Ven was in Sora's heart.

Aqua smiled weakly, though she was fighting tears. She had been emotional ever since she returned to the Realm of Light. It was embarrassing, but she was just so thrilled to see everyone. These kids had grown to be such strong young men and women.

Ven smiled, taking the initiative and waving a hand to Riku like Sora often did in greeting. "I'm Ventus," he said, though he followed it up almost immediately with "call me Ven." He looked over at one of his best friends, fighting the urge to chuckle at her expression. "This is Aqua."

Aqua saw Riku nod to her and Ven in greeting, but she only continued to smile. "We've already met," she declared softly. When Riku blinked in confusion, she took a small step forward to stand behind Sora. "I was with you and Sora a long time ago," she explained. "I told Sora to watch out for you, remember?"

Riku's eyebrows furrowed as he looked to Sora for confirmation. Was this true? Now that he thought about it, Aqua did look familiar but...his memory was pretty hazy. He couldn't even remember the person who gave him the ability to wield the Keyblade. How could he remember a stranger that simply talked to them?

"C'mon, Riku, even I remember that," Sora teased. Not only was Sora a year younger than Riku at the time, but his memory wasn't nearly as great as Riku's often times. Sora did indeed remember the day that Aqua came to the Islands, and that other man too who talked to Riku alone. He couldn't picture his face though since he didn't really pay attention to him.

"Sorry," Riku said sheepishly, looking to Aqua with a small smile. "My memory's been a little messed up ever since..." Ever since the Darkness. He didn't say that, and when he saw Aqua's quizzical expression, he only smiled weakly and shook his head. Never mind.

Aqua was confused as to what Riku was referring to, but she smiled nonetheless. "It's nice to see you again, Master Riku," she said. Of course she knew he was a Master. She could sense his power. It helped that Sora filled her in on the way here.

Lightning blinked, confused. Riku didn't tell her he was considered a Master--whatever that meant. He only mentioned that he took a mark of mastery test in passing. It had been soon after she was brought into this whole mess, so her memory from that time was a bit fuzzy as well. But she was pretty sure he didn't tell her this. "You didn't tell me you were a Master," she said softly to Riku, confident enough to say it out loud rather than keep it to herself. She definitely would have remembered that.

Riku looked over at Lightning, realizing she was right. "...It never came up," he said with a small shrug. He didn't really think about telling her. Lightning had been caught up to speed about what happened when Master Yen Sid talked to her, but he apparently didn't tell her that Riku was a Master. Well, now she knew. He hoped that didn't change her mind about him. Being a Master... It was a big deal.
Since Lightning seemed at a loss for words, Sora decided now was a good time to bring up a topic with Riku. "Anyway," he said, turning to his best friend. "We could use your help. Namine's locked up on The World That Never Was." It was time that they went and rescued her.

"I told Roxas to take care of her," Riku said, his eyes now on his best friend. He briefly glanced at Kairi. Once he recognized her suddenly furious expression, he looked away. What, was Roxas not with Namine anymore? All of them trusted him to look out for her.
"Roxas...found out that Namine messed with his head," Sora said, eyebrows furrowing as he looked from the ground to Riku. "He left her behind in the Organization's castle." It was a terrible situation, and Sora was sorry his friend found out the truth that way, but this was how things were. Saving Namine was their responsibility now.

Riku sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair in frustration. He knew that they needed to help. He was very protective of Namine ever since Castle Oblivion. But... He turned his gaze to look at Lightning, eyes hard with seriousness. "Only if you're ready," he said. Riku wasn't going to leave her here alone; the Organization could come back.
Sora was surprised when Lightning nodded softly to Riku. "What, you too?" he asked in confusion. Why would Riku bring Lightning along to the place where she was first taken prisoner? She was an innocent bystander, not a fighter. She didn't stand a chance against the Organization.

"Like I said before," Riku said, stepping over to be closer to Lightning, "we've been training for a while. Lightning's gotten stronger." In other words, she could handle her own for right now. Of course, Riku would stay close to her for obvious reasons. She was good for this kind of situation, but she would need further training for the war.
Lightning glanced over at Riku, nodding faintly in agreement before she looked back to Sora and the others. "I can fight," she said quietly, though her tone showed no fear. She had always been a serious one, but this seriousness was meant to assure everyone that she could handle herself. She would be more than not a burden. She'd be an asset.

Kairi glanced from Riku to Lightning multiple times, but neither of their gazes wavered. "All right," she said with a small nod. She turned to look at the others. "I guess we're set." They would have to get to the Castle as soon as possible then. Who knew what the Organization had done to Namine lately?
Sora nodded, looking at everyone in the group. "Let's get going, then," he said. He noticed Riku had armor on his arm, so he assumed his friend could summon a Keyblade glider. That meant all of them could easily get to The World That Never Was. As for a plan...He figured they'd just sneak in from the front if they could and search the castle.

Riku saw Aqua summon her armor, and out of the corner of his eye, Kairi did the same. He didn't even know she had armor until now, and it was deep red and black. He guessed it fit, since it matched her hair. He turned to Lightning and put a hand on her shoulder. She could handle this, and he would be beside her the entire time; he wouldn't leave her alone in that Castle again.
Lightning looked up to Riku, nodding softly. She had been quiet since the matter of fighting and of Keyblades came up, but she was prepared for what was coming. She had to be, or else she would die. So that Riku didn't sense those thoughts, she set a hand on her armor guard and summoned her own silver armor. She was all set.

Riku summoned his armor as well, then calling to his Glider. He climbed on as his other friends did the same, seeing that they were all set. A portal was already summoned. Once Lightning was on his Glider with him, Riku followed everyone through, leaving Disney Castle behind.
Only a few people talked while they were in the lanes between--mainly Sora and Riku. They were the ones who knew the layout of the castle best, so they were formulating a plan during the ride there. Once they entered the world and saw the castle though, everyone was quiet. Memories instantly flooded her mind, and most of them were ones she didn't want to recall. This was where her father was...

Kairi stayed next to her husband as they approached the castle, all of them standing outside it. There was still a beam connected from the city to the castle, so they could take that there and easily get inside. But...it was almost too easy for them. Shouldn't the Organization be around?
