Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Point being that your heart is a victim to the Darkness if you don't stop hiding behind your shell," Riku said, putting it bluntly. "Been there, and it nearly killed me. I doubt that's a fate you rea

"Perfect," Riku mumbled lowly, glaring at the person who appeared with Guardian in tow. He should have known this would happen. He sensed more Darkness than what was emitted from Ansem, and when he glanced over his shoulder, he saw Xemnas. He backed up a little, pressing his back to Lightning's. Two on two. At least it was fair this time.

"Thank you for returning the thirteenth vessel to us, Keyblade Master," Xemnas chuckled, seeing Lightning hold her weapon in front of her in a similar battle-stance to what Riku normally held. Though she looked more confident with her blade, the confidence wasn't going to do her any good now. She was coming with either him or Ansem to Master Xehanort.

"I didn't return anyone," Riku growled, glancing over his shoulder briefly before his eyes returned to Ansem. "We came to get one of our friends back." Namine was still here somewhere, and probably worse off than anyone. They needed to find her.

Ansem only smirked. "What do you hope to accomplish?" he asked. "The witch is a new weapon of ours. Finding her isn't in your favor, especially on this side of the castle." Namine was on the other side, near the sleeping quarters. Riku and Lightning were on the wrong track.

Lightning took the hint that Ansem provided---Namine wasn't on this side of the castle. She was probably in the direct opposite side. They came here to rescue Namine, so she assumed that it would be good to avoid confrontation. But with these two, especially Riku's demon, they were sure to have conflict.

"Guess we'll have to retrace our steps then," Riku said, remaining calm despite his adrenaline. The sight of Ansem made him both sick and furious at the same time. He was glad Lightning couldn't see Ansem, because he was looking past Riku to her like she was a meal. "Lightning's not yours to take. She's mine to keep." And he would protect her with his life.

Xemnas noticed Lightning back into Riku just a tad more, probably hoping for some kind of protection. He snickered, teleporting himself in front of Riku and grasping his shirt before throwing him to the side. He would have thrown him upward, but the roof was a bit too low for that. It was alright. Riku would perish for standing in their way--on the right day.

Riku cried out when his back met the wall, and he fell to the floor in a heap. His Keyblade lay forgotten a few feet away, the young man trying to come to his senses. His lungs couldn't take in any air, and he opened his eyes to gaze at Lightning in both pain and fear. Run.
Lightning noticed the panicked look in Riku's eyes, and that made her feel panicked as well. He was supposed to be calm and composed and let that rub off on her! When she noticed the Guardian swing at her out of the corner of her eye, she jumped backwards down the hall to avoid it, distancing herself from Riku. That was Ansem and Xemnas's point though. Both Lightning and Riku were easier targets apart.

Riku couldn't get up, but he did use some of his Dark powers while he was down. He sent a Dark Aura spell at the Guardian, hearing it screech in pain when it was hit in the side. Riku summoned his Keyblade back to his hand, pushing himself to his feet despite the pain in his back. No way was he letting Lightning get taken just like that; he would fight for her! Riku used the same trick Xemnas did, teleporting behind the man and swinging instantly.
While the fighting in their hallway continued, Lightning realized that she was being directed to another hallway and couldn't do anything about it. Xemnas was also busy guiding Riku in the other direction. To make matters worse, other friends were having their own battles in other parts of the castle and being separated from allies. Coming here was definitely a bad idea. She grunted and ducked past the Guardian, swinging her sword at Ansem's chest. He wasn't going to get to her again today.

Ansem laughed, easily teleporting away from Lightning's sword. "Well, well," he started lowly. "Don't we have a fighter? Much different from the last time you were here, Lightning, if I remember correctly. What happened? Did your father get to you?" Cedric was here, most likely battling another Keyblade wielder, but that was quite alright. Ansem had his daughter under control.
Lightning looked around, searching for the source of the voice. "Maybe," she responded dryly, taking a small step backwards while tightly gripping her gunblade. Maybe her father did get to her, but it didn't matter. She knew which side she was on and why she was on it. There were good people who were helping her make the right choices.

"The Darkness in your heart is stirring," Ansem called, watching from a distance as Lightning looked around for him. Silently, however, his Guardian appeared behind her, prepared to take her heart under its control. Ansem had already seen it once, and he knew just what to do to make her weak. Use Riku.
Lightning got chills and without even looking behind her, she rolled to the side to avoid the Guardian. She panted a breath, panicked. That demon nearly got inside of her again! She could never forget the last time that happened. It had been completely awful. Now she knew what Ansem was trying to do though. He was trying to possess her...

Ansem appeared a few yards from Lightning, but his Guardian remained on the move. It went after her, swinging at her again. "Are you worried for Riku?" he taunted lowly. The two were closer since the last time they met. Lightning cared greatly for Riku, and that care was greatly returned. How pathetic young love was.
Defense, defense, defense! Lightning's mind screamed, the girl dodging the Guardian's claws again. She couldn't let that thing in! She grunted and sent off two fire spells, one at Ansem and one at the Guardian. She wished Riku was here, but he had his own problems. And she had to stand on her own anyway; he told her that a hundred times.

Ansem grunted when the fire burned him, his Guardian too late to block the spell from hurting him. Once he recovered, he waved the Guardian along with a swipe of his arm. "My previous vessel is struggling to reach you," he said, voice calm. "But he won't get through. He won't ever reach you when I'm through with you." Her heart would belong to the Darkness.
Though Lightning was terrified at the threats, she only allowed her anger to show. "Guess I need to take care of you myself then," she said lowly. She was stable on her feet now, so she shifted her weapon to its gun mode and shot at Ansem from her spot. When the Guardian blocked it, she'd rush in and try to stab him. She had to forget about her conscious for now--this was survival.

"Come Guardian!" Ansem cried, and just as he called, his Guardian appeared before him. The bullet didn't hit him, but it did hit the Guardian. It was strong enough to recover quickly, and Ansem allowed his Guardian to drift behind him as he gazed at Lightning. She was going to have to do better than that.
Lightning gritted her teeth, adjusting her grip on the weapon that was a sword again. She'd have to face him head on. If he was on the defensive all the time, she wouldn't be vulnerable. A good defense was a good offense, right? She gripped the weapon tightly and ran at him, a battle-cry leaving her lips as she swung. She had to win. The consequences would be dire if she didn't.

Kairi cried out weakly in pain when one of the Organization members kept her bound from behind. Her hands were tied behind her back, but that wasn't her biggest concern. While she and Sora were confronted by two members of the Organization, they were separated. Once that happened, things went south very quickly. Young Master Xehanort sent one of his weapons into her stomach, and now she was bleeding out of an open wound. But she wasn't the only one. Riku was in here, struggling against his binds as Xemnas held him still, and Aqua was fighting the pain that multiple bullets in her side caused from Braig. It was all a mess, and now they were all stuck.
Ven was being held still by Vanitas's Unversed, which he was sadly still able to summon after ten years. He struggled against them until he noticed two others being led into the room. The girl was one that he never met before, but the other person looked just like him, so it was easy to recognize him. The fact that Sora (who was also bound by Unversed) grunted the Nobody's name helped as well. Roxas and Namine were both led in my Isa, who Ven knew as a child. What happened to make him turn out this way?

Kairi's eyes grew at the sight of the girl who was practically her sister. "Namine!" she cried in relief, and fear at the sight of her Nobody's state. She was...beaten, badly. Kairi grunted weakly in pain when the outcry hurt her stomach, the young woman fighting to stay on her feet.

Namine felt Isa's grip on her arm, and she winced at how tightly he held her; he was pressing on one of her many bruises. Her friends... They were all here. Except for that girl Riku liked, Lightning. Where was she supposed to be?

Roxas grunted when Isa shoved him to the side opposite the rest of the group, the blond landing on his knees and keeping himself propped against the wall. He glared at Isa before the man vanished to his seat above. Roxas wasn't sure how well he could move and attack. Even if he could, his friends were bound, so there wasn't anything he could do. They were in serious trouble.

Riku struggled against his binds, but it was no use; he was stuck. "Where's Lightning?!" he demanded furiously. Ansem... He was fighting her when Xemnas managed to get Riku down and bound. Riku hadn't seen her since, and it had been at least thirty minutes since then. He was terrified for her safety.
