Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Point being that your heart is a victim to the Darkness if you don't stop hiding behind your shell," Riku said, putting it bluntly. "Been there, and it nearly killed me. I doubt that's a fate you rea

Riku walked forward the few feet that were separting him from Lightning, and when he reached her, he stood to her side. He lifted a hand to rest on the back of her head, his fingers resting in her pink hair. He looked down at her with the same weak smile. At least she was okay, or so he assumed.
Light glanced down at Serah briefly, who looked back at her. They shared the same expression, so they both knew what to do. Both of them retracted one of their arms and wrapped it around Riku's lower back and brought him into their group hug. Even if he was close now, she wanted him closer.

Riku chuckled a little, looking down at both sisters. "You two are pieces of the same cloth," he said, wrapping his arms around them. They would pull something as cheesy as this. Of course, he didn't mind, but they didn't have to know that.
Lightning smiled softly, giving Riku a small squeeze as she leaned into him. This was a bit cheesy; she had to admit. But she didn't care as long as she was close to him again. And it was nice, having two of her favorite people in her arms. Much warmer than what she experienced when the Guardian was inside her.

Riku leaned his head forward, lowering his lips to rest in Lightning's hair. He held the position for a moment, but then let his chin rest on the top of her head. "Good to have you back," he murmured softly. He was sure Serah could agree. Having Lightning away like that... It wasn't pleasant.
Lightning shut her eyes briefly, her small smile fading as Riku brought up a serious matter. She had left him for a little while... "Sorry about that," she said quietly. She hadn't meant to terrify him, and she knew that was exactly what she did. He had been so worried and panicked with her back in The World That Never Was.

"It's alright," Riku whispered, eyes closed as he took in the feeling of Lightning being in his arms. Serah too. He missed the youngest Farron a lot while he was gone. Her uplifting spirit was always quite helpful. He needed it at points during his Mastery test.
Lightning felt Serah slowly pull back, so she released her sister. But her one arm remained around Riku's lower back and her side against his torso. She wanted to speak to him more about what happened--to let him know she fought her very hardest for him, but she wouldn't say that stuff in front of Serah. It'd scare her.

Riku opened his eyes when Serah pulled back, and he looked over at her. It was good to see her again too. He hoped she didn't hate him too much; he wasn't on her good side when the Ashe scandal got leaked, and now there was Lightning getting hurt. Riku wasn't doing a very good job at taking care of her....
"I'll give you a lecture later," Serah said, pointing a finger at Riku. Lightning looked surprised at this, but the only reason Serah didn't scold Riku was because of Lightning's condition. Even now, that was more important than her protectiveness of her sister. She shifted her gaze to Lightning, though she was still speaking to Riku. "Make sure she's okay."

Riku lifted his other arm, wrapping it around Lightning alongside the other. "Right," he said with a nod. He would do that, gladly. He wasn't going to leave Lightning's side for a while. She was stuck with him, whether she liked it or not.
Serah nodded, though her attention and words were then focused on Lightning. "You be honest with him, got it?" she ordered strictly, also pointing the finger again. "I heard some things that I don't like that I'll want you to explain later, but right now, you let him take care of you. Okay?" Though Lightning seemed a bit awestruck by Serah's boldness, she nodded faintly in reassurance as her other arm wrapped around Riku's front.

Riku smiled a little at Serah's demands, and he knew he should have expected them. But he was glad that she told Lightning to be honest with him and allow him to take care of her. Right now, that was all they needed--each other. Or so Riku believed. "Namine could use some cheering up," he told Serah softly. "Think you can help her out?"
Serah smiled softly, nodding in reassurance. "Point me in the right direction and I'll go," she said. She didn't know Namine as well as she knew Sora and Kairi, but the blonde was definitely still her friend. It was pretty flattering Riku was going to send her to go help one of his friends though; it meant that she was still capable of doing good despite her past.

"She's in the Gardens," Riku said with the same small smile. He was glad that Serah was willing to help. But then again, did he expect any different? She and Lightning were alike in that they would help those in need, but Serah was more open about it. It didn't matter anyway, since Lightning was Riku's for the afternoon.
Serah nodded with the same smile, though she looked to Lightning again before she turned to leave and spoke. "No secrets," she ordered of her. "If I hear you kept anything to yourself, you're in serious trouble." She was serious--Lightning couldn't keep things bottled up. She had been in a coma...That was really serious. When her sister nodded again, Serah turned and headed for the gardens

Riku watched Serah go, and once she was a good distance away, he looked down at Lightning. "She's more motherly than you are," he pointed out. Lightning was the oldest, so she naturally took on that role. But Serah just had it in her. It was an interesting trait they both shared.
That makes me a pretty bad older sister, Lightning thought, though she wasn't about to say that in front of Riku. "Only when she needs to be," she said instead, referring to Serah's doting. Serah only took on a parental role when Lightning was vulnerable, which rarely occurred.

"She's good at it," Riku said, looking down the hall and watching Serah disappear around a corner. "You may have a run for your money." Of course, nobody would have to be motherly with Riku's parents around. They were here too, but they were getting some much needed sleep. That reunion had been emotional on both ends, unfortunately. Celes had been a wreck...
"Maybe," Lightning agreed, her gaze also on the end of the hallway. But as motherly as Serah was, she would never have to take on that role again once Lightning was the head of their household. She would handle absolutely everything and Serah could have a normal life. Her purpose for living was to care for her sister...Or so she would have said a year ago. Now that Riku was in the mix, she wasn't sure of anything.

Riku looked back down at Lightning, and he gently turned her so she was facing him completely. "Let me see those eyes," he requested lowly. He told Lightning to keep them open, but once they left the castle, she was gone. It wasn't a great moment. In fact, it was awful. Riku had never been so desperate for someone to open their eyes in his life.
Lightning glanced down at Riku's chest, automatically feeling guilty. He told her to keep her "pretty eyes" open, but she had shut them and lost consciousness. When she lost sight of him--her hope, she lost her grip on reality. Her blue eyes danced upwards and locked onto his, the young girl staying silent. She didn't know what to say.

Riku lifted a hand to tuck back some of Lightning's hair, his eyes staying locked on hers. "I missed those," he said of her eyes. He had wanted to see them so badly lately. Every hour he couldn't see them, he grew more upset. Riku was just relieved that he could see them now, and that they were looking back at him.
"They're that pretty, huh?" Lightning joked weakly, feeling Riku's fingertips against her skin as he tucked back some of her hair. She at least had to let him know that she had been listening to him while she was conscious--every single word. Most of the time, he just told her to keep her eyes on him, but he had said some other things as well.

Riku couldn't help but smile, humming in confirmation. "Beautiful," he told her in a soft whisper. He never got tired of looking at them, and he was sure that showed by how much he stared at her in the past. Lightning had to have remembered that.
