Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Roxas began coming to after a little while, Namine's spell over him lifting. But he felt so...drowsy. He furrowed his eyebrows slightly as he opened his eyes, the blond turning his head to the side towards the eyes that he felt on him. "Namine?" he asked quietly. She looked...exhausted, but also sad. Did she fail at fixing him? Because he didn't feel like he did before at all...

Namine put her hands on the seat on either side of her, leaning forward a little. "...How do you feel?" she asked quietly. She certainly hoped Roxas was how he wanted to be, how she would like him to be; the Roxas she met in Twilight Town that was very sweet and friendly, somebody she could talk to. Who she tried to create the first time around, but failed.
"Good, I think," Roxas said, slowly beginning to sit himself up. He felt...peaceful. He was still a little angry at Namine for toying with his heart to make him like her, but overall, he realized he was indebted to her. Not only did she save his life in the past, but she also brought him back to reality now. He felt like he was his true self... Just that simple realization made him smile.

When Namine saw Roxas smile, relief flood her heart. "Good," she said, lowering her gaze and closing her eyes. That meant she did her job well, right? Roxas was okay now? She certainly hoped so... She didn't want to screw up again.
Roxas's smile faded in concern when he saw Namine's position and posture. "It looks like you need to be the one lying down now though," he said quietly, setting his feet on the ground so that he could move. He noticed her exhaustion immediately--It had been impossible to miss. She worked so hard at putting him together, and she succeeded. He truly felt like himself now.

Namine lifted her gaze, the words surprising her. Did she really look that bad? "Oh, um...n-no," she stuttered, waving a hand slightly. "I'm okay." She would just need a good night's rest, is all. That would come after dinner, though, which would be starting soon. A servant would be sent to retrieve them soon enough. She had to be there when her friends saw Roxas... They would be so happy that he was all right.
Roxas leaned back so he was sitting upright, gazing at Namine. "If you're sure," he responded after a few moments. He was just trying to be kind to her, which he knew was quite different from how he had been in the past week. He had reason to be angry, but he had still been selfish and harsh. That was the kind of person he was, but still...He felt responsible for it.

"Mm," Namine hummed with a weak smile. She locked eyes with Roxas for a moment, but once that moment passed, she shyly looked away. Just like all of the others, he didn't need to know what happened to her the past couple days with the Organization. He wouldn't like it, especially if he would feel responsible. Namine was responsible for her own weaknesses, and that was it. She couldn't fight back and defend herself, and that was why she got hurt. She needed to register for self defense classes when they all got back home.
"Namine," Roxas said softly, lowering his gaze to his lap. "I...I'm sorry." He was sorry for leaving her behind in the Organization's clutches. Obviously it hadn't been a pleasant experience for her. He was sorry for putting the pressure on her to fix him so quickly. It wasn't completely her fault he turned into such an awful person. It just happened.

Namine felt her heart drop at the apology. No...No, she didn't want to have this conversation with him. In fact, she feared it. "Um, let's not talk about it, okay?" she said, gathering her sketchbook and pencils before rising to her feet. She turned and quickly started away, though she doubted she would get very far.
Roxas rose to his feet, and though he didn't feel he had the right to block Namine off, he did call after her. "You don't have to tell me anything," he said, hoping that she'd stop and hear him out. He would be sensitive and not bring up the abuse, but she at least had to know that he was sorry.

Namine stopped and turned a little to look at Roxas, eyes showing her confusion. He didn't need to know about the abuse? She was surprised he would even say that; she figured he would be the one most curious about it. Roxas saw her all bloodied and beat up, after all. He was just going to ignore it?
"I just need to let you know that I'm sorry, and I will never let that happen to you again," Roxas said, taking a step towards Namine. "You saved me twice now--you're my friend. I'll protect you and try to redeem myself." He would redeem himself to her, and to Kairi. The redhead was pretty ticked at him.

Namine gazed at Roxas for a moment, but then lowered her gaze to the floor. "Roxas..." she started softly. She wasn't sure what to say. He didn't need to redeem himself. The fact that he was okay was enough for her. She was just glad that she could make him right again... But she did appreciate the apology.
Roxas shook his head softly. "Just tell me what I need to do and I'll do it," he said. Whatever he needed to do to make things alright again, he would do it. He was the Roxas Namine met back in Twilight Town--her friend. It was time he tried to make up for his former self's mistakes and restore that friendship.

Namine looked up at Roxas underneath her lashes, though she blushed a little at the way he said those things. He was almost...desperate. But why? Why did he want to make it up to her so badly? "Just...live when it comes down to it," she said softly, looking back up at him. "When you guys go fight, come back in one piece." That was all she wanted. His safety, and the opportunity for him to live the way he wanted to be.
Roxas nodded in appreciation to the words, but at the same time... "That's not quite what I meant," he stated softly. He meant he wanted to do something directly with her to make it up to her, but she seemed a bit shy about the topic. What, did she not think she deserved it? She made her mistakes, but her good deeds outweighed the bad.

Namine smiled weakly, blushing slightly at the words. "Right, well..." she started. "I did." She meant what she said with all her heart, and even if that wasn't much, it was important that Roxas made it back home safely. Maybe now that she fixed things with him, they could be true friends. Not fake friends like she made him be.
Roxas smiled weakly, nodding as well. Behind Namine, a servant appeared in the doorway and told them that it was supper time before he vanished. "Guess we should go, huh?" he stated quietly. Namine seemed to want out of the conversation, so the dinner call came at a good time. Hopefully she wasn't scared of him anymore; she didn't seem to be.

Namine nodded, her eyes moving from the door to Roxas again. Truth be told, she was starving. The Organization neglected her stomach when she was there, and she hadn't eaten much today for Roxas's sake. Dinner sounded great.
Roxas looked from Namine to the door before he started out, though he wasn't planning on going without Namine. Kairi definitely was furious at him, and he wasn't sure how Riku felt towards him. Aqua and Ven were new to the situation so they didn't know him well, but...He wanted to make a good impression. This time, it was like he was meeting them for the first time. He hoped everyone could forgive him...

Namine placed her sketchpad down on a table in the bedroom before she went down to the dining hall with Roxas. They were quiet on the way down, and things weren't any different with the others when they arrived. Everyone was getting seated at the long table, and when she caught Kairi's eye in the room, she nodded to her. Everything was okay. Roxas was back to normal.
Sora, not being as oblivious as he used to be, noticed that Roxas appeared uncertain as he approached the table. The brunet only smiled faintly, standing up from his spot and patting his Nobody on the shoulder. "Good to see you," he said, speaking to the person he shared such a strong connection with. He noticed Roxas smile and nod, feeling reassured as he took the seat beside Sora. Roxas was welcome here with them.

Noel sat next to Namine, who took a seat beside Kairi. He leaned forward so he could see the other blond. "Feeling better, Roxas?" he asked over the small chit-chat. Roxas had been his friend the past few years despite his attitude, but he definitely looked like he was more comfortable. He wasn't sure how that was, but Sora did tell him that Roxas wasn't feeling well. Noel just wanted to check and see how he was.
Roxas looked across a few of his friends to Noel, who obviously saw him a lot the past few years. After all, he was Sora's younger brother. "Yeah," he said with a small nod. "I'm good." And he meant that in more sense than just one. He wanted to fight as one of the Seven, if he was allowed to after all that happened. He was a good person now.
