Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Roxas chuckled lightly, shaking his head as he set a hand on Kairi's that was in his arm. "That's the least I can do," he stated before starting to lead her to their destination. Of course he could lead her to the gardens--that was where they all agreed to go anyway. Well, almost all of them. It was going to be him, Kairi and Sora, Riku and Lightning, Serah and Noel, and maybe Namine, if she was feeling up to it.

Kairi smiled a little more, glancing up at Roxas before she walked with him toward the gardens. Once they were there, she peeked over the small wall that separated the hallway and the gardens down below. Her friends were already spread out and talking, and Kairi ventured lower and out the door to join them with Roxas. Once they were close, she started to pull away from Roxas, looking to him. "Thank you," she said with a smile. All jokes aside, she appreciated him walking with her.
"Of course," Roxas said with a small smile. He heard Sora call out to him from his spot and say, "Roxas! You're alive!", and that only made his smile grow wider as he shook his head. He should have known Sora would call out something like that, especially since he knew Kairi was upset with him. It was never good to be on Kairi's bad side.

Kairi's smile vanished immediately as she looked to her husband, her hands going to her hips. "Excuse me?" she called, walking forward a few steps. What did he just say? Sora couldn't possibly mean that she would kill Roxas, now could he? She heard Riku whistle lowly in warning, which was a sign for Sora to be on guard. She was just smiling with Roxas, and now Sora had to "kid around?"
"Uh oh," Sora grunted, getting into a position to "brace for impact". He sat on his knees and looked up at Kairi, a weak and pleading smile on his lips. "What?" he asked her innocently, gazing at her with those big blue eyes of his. "I didn't mean anything by it..." But she wouldn't believe that, would she?

"Mm-hm," Kairi hummed in disbelief, rolling her eyes. She crossed her arms and glared at her husband. Sora didn't mean it? She begged to differ. Kairi knew that she was vicious when she was angry, but she had good reason to be. Nobody wanted to get on her bad side, something Sora and Riku knew very well.
Sora's eyes darted from Kairi to Riku, who he wanted some help from. "A little help please?" he requested. He wasn't sure what to do here, so maybe his best friend could help him out. If Riku was in a helping kind of mood. Hopefully he'd be kind...

Riku smirked, shaking his head. "You're on your own," he said. He glanced from Sora to Kairi. "I've been on her bad side before. Not a place I really want to be." And if he helped Sora out of this one, Kairi would get on him too. Riku wasn't feeling that kind of attention right now.
Sora shifted his gaze to Kairi, finding something new to talk about. "Isn't that just plain rude?" he inquired of Kairi. "So much for loyalty..." Riku should have been on Sora's side more, even if it was against the fearsome Kairi. He briefly shot his friend a glare, silently saying "thanks for nothing."

"You've got a point," Kairi said softly, taking a small step toward the group of people. "But he didn't imply that I would kill Roxas." Kairi looked pointedly at Sora now, hearing Riku's chuckles and Namine's small laugh. It wasn't much, but the fact that Namine could smile at least a little bit was good enough for Kairi. She kept her eyes on Sora, waiting for an explanation.
"Actually," Sora said sheepishly. "He was the one who inspired me to say that." Riku gave Sora a look when he saw Roxas and Kairi--he couldn't deny that. And that expression inspired Sora to say aloud what he and Riku were both thinking. It wasn't his fault he had a loud mouth sometimes....

"Whoa, hold on a minute," Riku said, sitting more upright as he glared at Sora. "Why are you turning this on me? You said it!" He didn't say anything. He might have been thinking it, but Sora was the one who said it out loud. Why did he have to get dragged into this?
"And you implied it," Sora snickered at Riku. "You're just as guilty as I am." So have fun dealing with Kairi's wrath. Hopefully the wrath would be split in half between them--then it would be more bearable. As for everyone else, they would enjoy the show. Unless Kairi noticed and took out her anger on them too.

Riku heard Kairi clear her throat, and he looked to her, though his eyes stayed hard. "Hey," he said lowly, pointing a finger at her. "Don't do anything stupid." In other words, if she came at him, he wouldn't hesitate running away. She would be furious if she had to chase him all over the garden anyway.

"So now I'm stupid?" Kairi asked, lifting an eyebrow. Riku rolled his eyes and sighed in irritation, beginning to explain himself, but she interrupted. "Nope, I get it, Riku. I'm stupid and apparently lethal. You and Sora have both made that clear. Thanks, guys." She moved to sit next to Sora's younger brother as Riku flopped back in the grass, exasperated.

"You have a way with words, Riku," Sora smirked, laying down on his back as he gazed up at the stars. "It's a wonder you've managed to woo Lightning." He noticed her look over at him from her spot, probably startled that she was brought into this. But he couldn't help it; he had years of teasing to give to Riku about significant others.

Riku lifted his head slightly to glare at Sora. "Cheap shot," he simply said, then laying his head back down in the grass. "Don't be jealous that I'm getting more love than you are." He heard Kairi gasp in shock at the words, and he looked over at her, smirking.

"Riku, shut up," Kairi ordered, though he instantly chuckled, as did Noel. It was like he and Sora would never stop jabbing her with all of these taunts. It was supposed to be funny, and it was to an extent, but it was starting to get hurtful. Especially with Riku's last comment. She couldn't help it if she and Sora didn't have as much time together as they used to. Xehanort got in the way...

"You're gettin' love now, are ya?" Sora smirked teasingly, picking at Riku for the choice of words. "Can't say I'm surprised--you and Lightning are a really cutesy couple." He doubted they actually said "I love you", but they were always tangled up in each others arms, holding hands...They had been holding onto each other before this conversation started too.

Riku pushed himself up again, resting his weight on his elbows. "Honestly, Sora, who says 'cutesy' anymore?" he teased, one eyebrow lifted. "What are you, five?" It sounded like something Sora would have said when he was little, or Kairi at least. Of course, Riku was just trying to get the subject off him and Lightning. Maybe he did use a poor choice of words, with "love" and all that.

"You just said it," Sora said with a smirk. "So if I'm five, you are too." Granted, Riku didn't say the word in context, but he still said the word and sounded silly saying it. He noticed how amused Lightning appeared, and how she still was lingering close to Riku's side as the conversation went on. The two of them, in all seriousness, were an attractive couple.

Riku sighed again, rolling his eyes. "Wait until we get home," he said then. "We may need you now, but you're dead the second we get back on the Islands." Riku wouldn't hesitate kicking Sora's rear due to this kind of conversation. Of course, Riku could probably get a run for his money now; Sora had gotten stronger. But he wasn't stronger than Riku.
"I don't think the wife will let you get away with that," Sora snickered, glancing over at Kairi. She wouldn't let Riku do any harm to Sora once they all got back home--that'd be a time to celebrate that they were alive and the realms were safe. But getting to that point would be a real challenge, that was for sure.

When Riku looked over at Kairi for confirmation, she simply stuck her tongue out at him. No way would her lover be killed. She would fight to defend him in the upcoming battle. How could she let him just die, anyway? Sora was the biggest part of her life, as he always had been. She wouldn't let him go so easily.
Sora allowed the silence to settle over the group, the brunet already laying on his back and gazing upward. The stars were so cool. But each star was a world, and each world was under their protection. It was a huge burden, but it was one that he accepted gladly. He was glad to be a part of the fate of all the worlds and be connected to so many people.

Namine sat with her legs out to her side, staring up at the worlds with her friends. After a few minutes, she caught movement out of the corner of her eye. Kairi was crawling across the ground toward her husband, where she laid next to him and cuddled up to his side. Namine smiled weakly at the sight. That kind of behavior was predictable for Kairi; she wouldn't stay away from Sora for long.
Lightning noticed Kairi move over to Sora--It was fairly obvious, since everyone was so quiet. Quiet was the norm for her, especially since this all began. This was a time of bonding for all of them, but they were all lost in their own thoughts. She had plenty on her mind to keep her occupied for a long time.
