Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Point being that your heart is a victim to the Darkness if you don't stop hiding behind your shell," Riku said, putting it bluntly. "Been there, and it nearly killed me. I doubt that's a fate you rea

Riku only hummed softly, heading toward the plain behind the castle without thinking about it. All he did was walk. When he got there, he saw a pond nearby, approaching it in silence. It was a nice view, as the Kingdom was as a whole. It wasn't too surprising.
Lightning started running her thumb over Riku's arm while her own arm was around his shoulders, and her head rested against him as she followed his gaze. This really was a beautiful world. She was so glad that no Darkness had been here since the day that Cedric ambushed them.

Riku stopped next to the pond, seeing some lily pads and flowers around it. It was a pretty sight, that much he had to admit. But to him, nothing was better than the Islands. He was hoping they would get to go home soon, but that wouldn't happen until Xehanort was dealt with. They had to beat him first, and hopefully all of them lived to go back home.

Lightning gazed down at the pond, easily seeing it since Riku was right at the edge of it. She could even see their reflections in it. Somehow, that inspired her to give him a light kiss on the cheek. He may have been trying to redeem himself, but she wanted him to know that she still cared for him.

The gesture brought a small smile out of Riku. "You seemed to cool down a bit," he said, looking over at Lightning. She was bossy before, and a bit snappy, but he knew it was because she was playing hard to get. It was...attractive, in a sense. Riku always did like a challenge.
"Hmph," Lightning hummed with a crooked smile. "Not enough for me to forgive you yet." She may have cooled down, but he wasn't completely alright in her eyes. Like she said earlier, he had a lot of sucking up to do before that happened.

"Still a hot head, then," Riku assumed. He tightened his grasp on Lightning a little, but that was when he got an idea. The water...Perfect. "Guess you better cool off." He turned a little and then released Lightning, tossing her into the pond. She could take a swim and cool that hot head of hers.
Lightning grunted in surprise, only having time to shut her eyes and mouth before she went under. Her back touched the bottom of the pond when she was completely under--the pond really wasn't that deep. It was deep enough that when she rose to the surface, her feet didn't touch the bottom. She took in a breath, glaring at the person who threw her in. "Riku!"

Riku couldn't help but laugh, lifting his hands as if to say, What? He knew that Lightning probably would be even more ticked off at him because of this, but she needed to loosen up a little. They had to have a little fun every once in a while, right?
"That did not help your case," Lightning said, starting towards the bank in her soaking wet clothes. She marched towards Riku in the shallow water as if she were truly infuriated, hoping to catch him off guard. He was going to pay for what he just did.

"And what are you going to do about it?" Riku challenged, lifting an eyebrow. He wasn't sure what damage Lightning could do now. She was soaking wet after all, and he doubted she had any tricks up her sleeve. She was too caught off guard for that...right?
Lightning stood right in front of Riku, and she decided to act quickly. First, she grasped his hand and then pulled herself out of the pond. Then she spun around Riku and gave him a rough kick on the back in order to send him into the pond. It was a bit mean, but he deserved it.

Riku was surprised with the move, and his last thought was wrong; Lightning did have a trick up her sleeve. He went under water and surfaced a few seconds later, shaking his short hair a little. He looked at Lightning with wide eyes. She was in trouble now.
Lightning snickered, putting a hand on her waist as she looked down at Riku. "That's what I'm gonna do about it," she said, finally answering his question. She caught him off guard and sent him into the pond. He, unlike her, did a face-plant, but that was just to her. Probably not to him though.

Riku floated in the water, but he lifted one of his hands to point at the water. "Get in here," he told her slowly, his voice low in mock-threat. He wasn't about to let her get away with this. Lightning would have to get back in here if he was in the pond.
"Not interested in taking orders from you," Lightning said casually, smirking as she turned to start walking around the pond. As if she would hop back into the pond willingly. No, if she was going back in, he'd have to make her somehow. But she was pretty on guard after all that just happened.

"Lightning, get in the water!" Riku called, making his way toward shore. Once he had his footing, he raced after her. He caught her by the waist and then pulled her into the water with him, both of them going underwater. He surfaced a few seconds later, prepared physically and mentally to face Lightning's wrath.
Lightning gasped for a breath when she and Riku surfaced, and she looked over her shoulder at him as she tried to get a good look at him. But his arm was still tightly wrapped around her stomach as she was pressed to his back. "You let me go this instant!" she scolded, squirming in his hold.

"Or what?" Riku chuckled into Lightning's ear. She was adorable when she was soaked from head to toe and angry. Of course, he wasn't going to risk telling her that. Knowing Lightning, she would flip out even more.
It was so hard to be angry at Riku when he spoke lovingly into Lightning's ear like that. But she managed just fine. She kept on squirming, though she turned her head to see him out of the corner of her eye. "I'm still your teacher, and you have a lot of training left," she said. "You wait till your next session. You'll regret this."

"I'll regret it later," Riku corrected, also elaborating. "But I won't regret it right now." He got to hold her close again, just like the night before. He would take whatever chance he could get. Who knew if either of them would survive in the fight to come?
Lightning sighed dramatically, though Riku's words touched her. He wouldn't regret it because he was holding her--that was obviously what he was saying. She stopped struggling and leaned the side of her head against his, feeling his hair drop water onto her shoulder as her hair did the same for his.

Riku smiled a little, closing his eyes as he and Lightning floated in the water. He turned his head a little and pressed his lips to her cheek. He knew he was falling for her, but it was more than that... He was falling in love. For Riku, that never happened. It was frightening but exhilarating all at the same time.
Light lowered one of her hands and set it on Riku's arm, knowing both of them were hopelessly soaked and not caring. Moments like this didn't come along often at all, so they were going to enjoy it. Even if the water was cool...well actually, Riku wasn't too warm in the water either. But she was still content.

Riku pulled back a little, loosening his hold on Lightning slightly so she could turn around if she wanted to. If she did, he wouldn't hesitate kissing her again. Ever since the first time they kissed, he found it hard to stop. He had been wanting to kiss her for months before that happened, so when it did...it felt great.
