Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Point being that your heart is a victim to the Darkness if you don't stop hiding behind your shell," Riku said, putting it bluntly. "Been there, and it nearly killed me. I doubt that's a fate you rea

Lightning turned around in Riku's arms, her own wrapping around his shoulders when she faced him. They were still close--he hadn't loosened his arm enough that she could escape from him. Escaping wasn't really a desire of hers now anyway. She looked up into those aqua eyes of his, giving him another challenge in silence. Kiss me.

Riku gazed at Lightning for a moment, seeing a bead of water trickle down Lightning's forehead to the tip of her nose. She was beautiful, and she deserved to feel that way. He was hoping he would be able to make her feel that way. He locked eyes with her again and wordlessly leaned forward, his eyes closing upon their lips touching.
Light shut her eyes and gently kissed Riku in return, her arms wrapping around him more tightly as she brought her body closer. The slight movement was exaggerated in the water, so she ended up coming into more contact with him than expected. Like she would mind though. She loved moments like this...

Riku pressed his hands into Lightning's back, keeping her as close as she was. He placed a little more pressure into the kiss, simply because he craved the affection. Riku had plenty of girls before, but none of them made him feel the way Lightning did. It was...different, but a good different. Riku didn't want it any other way.
Lightning returned the affection, and since she was floating and Riku's feet were down, she had no problem gently placing her feet atop of his so that she could stand as well. Her heart was racing at this kiss, which was more passionate than what they had done thus far.

Riku smiled a little into the kiss when he felt Lightning's feet on his own. He heard the water trickle around them, and the sun was warm on what parts of their body weren't under the water. And best of all, she was kissing him back. Riku would cherish this moment while it lasted.
Lightning smiled softly as well, unable to help it when Riku did it. After a few more moments, she pulled back and rested her forehead against his. That was as far away from him as she could get, considering how close he was holding her to him. But this was such a nice moment, for both of them.

Riku released a breath in silence, his feet planted on the bottom of the pond. Because of that, he was able to keep him and Lightning steady where they were. It was a nice moment, something he couldn't see himself doing with anyone else. That was even more proof that Lightning was the one, a realization that always made Riku's heart stop.
Lightning exhaled a soft breath, feeling it bounce off Riku's face and hit hers. The breath was warm, just like her heart was now that Riku was in her life. She kept her eyes shut, knowing Riku was still in front of her without her seeing. He would always be there, whether she saw him or not.

Riku lifted one of his hands, running it up Lightning's back. Because of the water, he accidently ran his fingertips over some of the skin on her back. It was soft, just like she was, on the inside. Lightning put on a hard exterior to keep people away, but Riku saw past it and got close to her. And now he didn't want anything else. He liked where he was, and he wanted to stay.
Light felt silly for getting chills the brief moment Riku touched her skin, but..this boy drove her crazy! He came into her life so suddenly and accidentally at the start of the year. He wormed his way into her life and she hated it for a while because of it. But eventually he earned her trust, friendship, and affection.

"Stay with me," Riku whispered, his forehead still against Lightning's. He wasn't talking about right now. He was talking about years down the road. Even if Lightning was only seventeen, he believed he found the girl he had waited so long for. Well, maybe he didn't wait; he didn't expect her after all.

"Mm," Lightning hummed, nodding faintly against Riku's forehead as well. She didn't take in the deeper meaning--she was thinking of two practical cases. He wanted her to stay with him right here and now, and he wanted her with him for the final battle. That was what he meant.

Riku lifted one of his hands to an arm that was around his neck, the young man then leaning forward to connect his lips with Lightning's again. He didn't think she truly understood what he meant. He didn't want to lose her to Xehanort. The man put Riku through enough... Riku couldn't handle another loss.
Light gently kissed Riku back, already as close to him as possible with her feet atop his. They could only get so close in this position. But this was good enough, at least for her. This moment wasn't meant to happen, but it was anyway. Her anger towards Riku was really gone now that she was so distracted by her care for him.

Riku kissed Lightning for another small moment before retreating, his hands back on her sides. He didn't even think of the fact that she could still be mad at him; he didn't want to. He wanted to focus on their relationship as a whole. They could call each other boyfriend and girlfriend, right? Riku never really called Lightning the name because he didn't know if she was comfortable with it...and she never called him her boyfriend. It must have been a mutual feeling.
Lightning was silent for a few moments, but then she spoke. "...We should go back," she said quietly, opening her eyes and gazing at Riku. Things were a bit too serious for them to stay here...Besides, she thought that maybe Riku would train her more. She still had a lot to learn in general.

Riku sighed at the words, which completely broke him out of his own thought process. "Right," he breathed. Back to work, and back to reality. Riku wasn't usually a daydreamer, but these days, he always looked forward to the future. It was better than the present, or so he hoped.
Lightning briefly rubbed the back of Riku's neck with her thumb before she began to take her arms back. She was sorry for bringing it up, and sorry for being the logical one. But they couldn't stay in the pond any longer. They probably weren't allowed in it in the first place.

Riku got out of the pond with Lightning, his shoes squishing against the grass. Water was in his shoes, and frankly all over him, so he guessed the first thing he and Lightning had to do was change. Then they could figure out the rest. He led the way back to the castle in silence, sure that they would run into their friends there.
The next day was perhaps the weirdest day of Roxas's life. He went back to school after missing for about two weeks. His teachers didn't pester him much, but several mentioned a difference with him. They were right--he was a very different person. And it reflected in his playing of the guitar. He wasn't so harsh anymore. It was more natural, just like this new person. But he wondered how Namine was doing with her first day back. Was she alright?

Namine stared at her sketchpad, seeing the mess she made. All of her drawings lately were total failures. Her sketches appeared to be drawn by a five year old. She didn't have class at the moment, so she was sitting at a table near the commons area of the school, people constantly walking by her table without even giving her a glance. She and Roxas were talks of the town, since they disappeared. Because Roxas was the more sociable one of the two of them, people usually asked him what happened. Namine stayed out of it and tried to get back into the swing of things, but it wasn't working. It was like she couldn't even draw anymore...

Roxas walked naturally across the school, though there was one room between the music and art sides that he stopped at. That was when he saw the blonde sitting at the table with her faithful sketchpad in hand. "Namine?" he checked, approaching her. Why did she seem so...zoned out?
  • Author
Namine blinked at her name, turning her head. When she saw Roxas, she was slightly surprised. Where was he even going? He didn't usually hang out in the commons area like she did between classes... She shut her sketchpad, smiling weakly. "Hey," she greeted softly. But she couldn't avoid his tone. It was one of those she had gotten a lot of lately from everyone; the worried tone.
"Hey," Roxas responded evenly, immediately knowing Namine's smile was a false one. He sat down at the same table, taking the chair right across from her as his blue eyes found hers. "Everything okay?" Was it just hard to transition into classes again? He knew the feeling.
