Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Point being that your heart is a victim to the Darkness if you don't stop hiding behind your shell," Riku said, putting it bluntly. "Been there, and it nearly killed me. I doubt that's a fate you rea

Lightning smirked as well, opening her eyes and gazing up at Riku. "I think you're the one who needs practice," she retorted, speaking softly because they were in such close proximity. "You're getting rusty." Of course, she was just joking around--as if she could tell if he was rusty or not. She was new to this whole business.

"Oh," Riku said, eyebrows lifting in surprise at that. "Says the rookie." He smirked a little, keeping Lightning close. Rookie or not, he loved kissing her. Sometimes it was kind of impossible to stop. But surely she realized that...and was hopefully okay with it.
"Says the girl whose been stuck kissing you these past few minutes," Lightning corrected, teasing again without breaking eye-contact. Rookie or not...Well, okay, Riku was right. She couldn't really tell if he was worse at kissing because he hadn't done it a day or two. Not like this anyway. Still, this little game was fun. She'd keep it going if he would.

"I wouldn't say 'stuck' is the right word," Riku said lowly. He doubted she could really mean that anyway. If Lightning didn't like kissing him, she would have pushed him away by now. And if she didn't like him at all, she wouldn't have accepted the Keyblade from him. She liked him a lot more than she probably would have thought at the beginning of this.
Lightning's eyes remained locked on Riku's. "Stuck," she repeated, just to mess with him. She was "stuck" here, kissing him. He hadn't let her even get a breather until now. Of course she could have taken one if she really needed one; she could have turned her head the other way. That was why this game was okay--they were obviously both joking with each other.

Riku nodded a little, looking away. "Okay," he said, loosening his hold on Lightning's waist. "Then maybe when I get back home, I'll see how many other girls would like to be 'stuck.'" Of course, he was just joking. Surely Lightning would recognize that.
"Okay," Lightning said evenly, taking her arms back as her lips remained in a crooked smile. "And we'll see how many boys want to give me kissing lessons." She didn't think that many would jump on the opportunity, but Riku would know the opposite was true. Lightning may have been intimidating, but plenty of guys were willing to ignore that because she was physically attractive.

Riku's eyes widened at that, the young man blinking at the words. "Yeah, um..." he said softly. He lifted a hand to rub the back of his neck. "That doesn't work for me." As if he would let other guys kiss Lightning! He was her first kiss, and he hoped to be her only.
"And why not?" Lightning asked, though she knew the answer. Riku may have had experience kissing other girls, but that didn't mean that Lightning had to gain the same experience. She was content being the "rookie" just as long as she was that way with Riku and not another guy.

"Because I was your first kiss," Riku said, still standing in front of Lightning. He lowered his hand to his side, shrugging. "I want to be your last." How else could he put it? Any other guy kissing Lightning--even the thought--was enough to make Riku sick. That wasn't something he wanted to see happen.
"My last, huh?" Light asked. Her lips remained up in a half-smile, mostly just to cover some of the serious thoughts that Riku's words stirred. "That implies a pretty big commitment you know." The only way that she wouldn't end up kissing anyone else was if she married Riku, or ended up spending her life alone. She highly doubted Riku was thinking of the latter. But marriage? That was so far off to her. She hadn't even told Riku if she loved him yet.

Riku's eyes widened at that, and he immediately felt heat rush to his cheeks. "Oh, well, um..." he said, lifting a hand to scratch his cheek as he looked away. A big commitment...right. That would imply being together for...a long time. "Uh..." Well, he hadn't meant for it to come out like that.
Lightning eased up, laughing at Riku. "Did I just make you blush?" she asked as she tried to hold back some more laughter. She had never seen him so sheepish-looking before. He looked like a deer in the headlights, but a cute one at that. She wished she could make him take that expression on more often.

Riku glanced back to Lightning, immediately shaking his head as he turned away. "Uh, no," he said with a sheepish smile. "I don't blush." He never had before, especially from other girls being the cause. That was completely out of the ordinary....
Lightning stepped over to be in front of Riku, her smirk remaining. "You are definitely blushing," she said, lifting her hands to cover his warm cheeks. "If you don't believe me, you can look down at the water and see your reflection..." That would work nicely enough for her.

Riku glanced over at the water, and when he saw that Lightning was right, he closed his eyes. "The things you do to me," he muttered. It was ridiculous what hold Lightning had on him. Nobody had affected him so much before.
Lightning smiled, her hands resting on Riku's cheeks after he looked over and saw the truth. She leaned up and gave him a peck on the lips before standing flat on her feet again in front of him. "I'll have to run to the castle and tell Sora that you blushed," she said, beginning to withdraw one of her hands. "Be back soon."

Riku's eyes opened in a flash, and he grabbed Lightning's hands before she could get too far. "No way," he said. If Sora caught onto this, he was in trouble. Sora would taunt him mercilessly about how a girl made Riku, of all people, get red in the cheeks. Riku couldn't have that happening.
Lightning's smirk grew at Riku's desperate actions. "No way am I going to be stuck here with you any longer," she retorted, tugging one of her hands out of his and working on the other one. She would run to the castle as soon as she was free and tell Sora and Kairi what happened. She couldn't let Riku live this down.

Riku's grip on Lightning's hand tightened, the other moving to tear hers away from his. "Don't make me throw you in the water again," he warned lowly. He wasn't scared to do it. If it meant saving his own skin, especially against Sora, he would.
"Kairi would be very upset with you if you did that," Lightning pointed out, keeping her free hand far out of Riku's reach and continuing to tug at the one he still trapped. She took a step towards the castle as she pulled, ready to make a break for the castle as soon as she could. Sora and Kairi had to hear about this.

Riku tugged on Lightning's hand, his strength proving useful here. He pulled Lightning to his chest and held her there, looking down at her. "Don't use Kairi as ammo here," he said lowly. "She can be scary, but I'm willing to risk it." For the sake of his ego.
Lightning had a hard time focusing on the words, smothered by Riku's gentle warmth and soft brand of cologne as he held her in an embrace to keep her with him. "She likes me, remember?" Light asked after a moment or two of taking in his words. Kairi was scary, but she liked Lightning. Therefore, she'd be on Lightning's side.

"We've been best friends since I was five," Riku pointed out. He lifted an eyebrow. "I think seniority wins on this one." He could get on Kairi's nerves, especially with Sora's help, but it happened out of love. They were family, but if Lightning could prove a good point, she could probably break through that bond.
"Then I dare you to throw me in that pond and face her," Lightning said with a smirk, gazing up at Riku as she remained in his arms. "Throw me in and see how she reacts." She would be ticked, especially if she found out why Riku threw her in.
