Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Meat's good for you though," Roxas protested, glancing down at the Cocker Spaniel that was wagging her tail happily. "See how much she likes it?" Meat would help her grow up to be big and strong...or maybe not so big, since this breed of dog stayed pretty small. That was good news for them.

"There's a reason they invented dog food, Roxas," Namine said with a small smile. She took a bite of her food after that, looking at Faye as she wagged her tail and sniffed the ground for anymore scraps. Unlikely, unless Roxas slipped some underneath the bench again.

"That stuff can't possibly taste good," Roxas stated, lightly nudging the pup with his foot to show affection. "Have you smelled it? It seems terrible..." Of course he didn't take in a big whiff of it on purpose. He just inhaled by it one time and then took in the smell. It definitely wasn't pleasant to him.

The blonde girl giggled at whatever Roxas said, but that wasn't their visitor's biggest concern. "The only thing that's terrible is your laziness, you lamers," he said, stopping a few feet away from the couple. The girl looked at him with wide eyes, clearly recognizing him. He wasn't sure how, but he wasn't that hard to forget; the scar on his face was enough, but so was his personality. He always did quiet a room.

Roxas automatically rose to his feet, even stepping forward with one foot to keep the small pup behind that foot. "I know you..." he said, trying to remember. It had been a few years since he saw him, but that scar...the name... "Seifer?" Didn't he live back in Twilight Town? Roxas knew him because Hayner had a real problem with him...That was definitely how he knew him.

Seifer lifted an eyebrow, but then he laughed. "And the biggest lamer of them all finds his guts," he said, placing his hands on his waist. "Chilling with your girlfriend?" He motioned to Namine, who set her food down on the bench beside her. She was clearly confused and defensive, as she should have been. The Organization sent him here, and for good reason.

"What are you doing here, Seifer?" Roxas asked, purposely not answering the question about Namine. No, she wasn't a girlfriend, but she was his friend. And bringing her up in the conversation would only put her in harm's way. What harm did Seifer present though? He had just been a bully back home, nothing more. He didn't scare Roxas one bit.

"Checking up on the Keyblader, of course," Seifer said, tilting his chin up proudly. Especially when Namine rose to her feet at the weapon's mention. What, was he supposed to keep that bit a secret? He smirked. "But from what I can tell, you've been slacking off."

Roxas didn't answer about slacking off, because he knew Seifer was right. He hadn't been training as much as he should have been. But... "Why do you care?" he asked, noticing Namine on her feet. What, was she afraid of Seifer? She didn't need to be; Seifer was just a bully. But if he was just a bully, how did he know about the Keyblade? The fact that Seifer wasn't wearing an Organization cloak threw Roxas off, but Namine knew the truth already. Seifer was one of Xehanort's Thirteen.

Seifer's smirked remained. "Little Namine knows," he said with pride. He saw her eyebrows furrow in disgust, but he still recognized the fear. He had fun with her when she was around, even if that fun was onesided.

Namine lowered her gaze at the words, spotting Faye sitting next to her feet. She didn't want the puppy getting hurt, not like she had been. Seifer was...one of the worst.

Roxas's eyebrows furrowed. One disadvantage of being Sora's Nobody was that he was sometimes slow on the uptake. But at least he normally caught on faster than Sora did. And as soon as it clicked, he grunted and extended an arm in front of Namine protectively. "I get it," he growled, glaring at the teen. "You're one of his puppets."

Seifer lifted his shoulders in a shrug. "Got me," he said. He looked from Namine to Roxas, his smile dark. "I was sent to check on you, lamer. Looks like the old man will be pleased with what I deliver." Roxas was slacking off, which meant he wasn't ready for the war. And that would be very, very soon.

"You won't be leaving here to deliver anything," Roxas said through his teeth. Seifer said Namine knew who he was. That meant that he made himself known to her while she was in captivity. And knowing a punk like Seifer got close enough to hit her absolutely infuriated him. He wouldn't let Seifer get away without a beating today.

Seifer laughed again, summoning his weapon to him and pointing it at Roxas. But if he moved even a bit, his head would be gone. He wielded a gunblade, which wasn't even a comparison next to a Struggle bat. "Go for it," he dared. "See what happens when you do."

Namine tsked in disgust, pushing past Roxas's arm and standing in front of him. The gun was pointed at her now, but she'd actually been hurt before. "No!" she cried, ignorant of the other people in the park. If they were smart, they would leave immediately. Seifer was awfully confrontational. This wouldn't go away so easily.

"Namine!" Roxas hissed in both fury and fear. Why did she just step in front of him? He could have handled it! He lowered that one arm down to his side, flicking his wrist a little and summoning Oathkeeper. He wouldn't let her shield him--he was the one who was supposed to be protecting her.

Seifer's laughter filled the park, the young man amused at the fact that a little girl was sticking up to him. "What are you going to do, witch? Your mind powers don't work on me," he told her. What did she plan on doing?

Namine shook her head, putting her arms out to her sides. "I won't let you hurt him," she said quietly. Seifer was a big bully, but he could do a lot more damage with a weapon. He put it to her head quite a few times when he was messing with her, but he ultimately resulted to using his fists. Whichever, Roxas wouldn't get any of it.

Seifer smirked, looking past Namine to Roxas. "Chickenwuss," he taunted. "Letting little Namine stand up for you now? The old man's gonna enjoy this one." Even more proof that Roxas wasn't ready for the final battle.

"Stop calling her little," Roxas barked in fury, setting his free hand on Namine's shoulder to back up. But it was also to drive in the words that he was about to tell Seifer. "She's a bigger person than you'll ever be." He hit her...Roxas just knew it. He saw it in his eyes. Roxas would personally make sure Seifer suffered for that.

Namine glanced back at Roxas at the words, surprised by them. She had heard him compliment her like that before, but it was still enough to put her at a loss for words. As did his touch. She heard a sound come from the gunblade, which attracted her attention instantly. Apparently Seifer was ready to fire.

Seifer hmphed at that. "Let the witch prove it then," he said, but he knew Roxas wouldn't let that happen. He was very...protective of the witch. Seifer wasn't blind, after all. It was obvious that Roxas cared about Namine. And Namine clearly cared about Roxas, since she had been screaming his name and calling for help.

"She already has," Roxas said, pulling back on Namine and swiftly stepping in front of her. He had his Keyblade at the ready--Seifer wouldn't be hurting her again today. "I think it's time I prove myself, though." He'd beat him to a pulp for what he did to Namine. He'd be sorry he ever confronted Roxas.

Seifer only smiled. "Good luck with that, chickenwuss," he said then. "I can't kill you, since you're essential to the future, but I can beat you to a pulp. Just like I did Blondie." He saw Namine cower back at that, not that he was surprised. Always the weak one.

"Save it for the final clash," Roxas said, seeing innocent civilians out of the corner of his eye. Roxas wanted to fight, but...He couldn't fight here. What if Namine accidentally got hurt? What about Faye, and the other innocent people in this park? He wouldn't put them at risk just because he was angry.

Seifer hummed in agreement to that. He rested his gunblade on his shoulder. "Not before I get my hands on one of those," he said, looking at the Keyblade. And he knew just where to go to get one. "If I remember correctly, the Seven still need a seventh."

Roxas blinked, confused again. First off, Seifer was wrong. "We do have a seventh," he said, tightening and loosening his grasp on the Keyblade. "And you couldn't be a part of our group anyway. You're already one of Xehanort's." It was impossible for him to be on both sides...wasn't it?

"Every person on your side needs a Keyblade, idiot," Seifer told the two. Apparently they weren't caught up on the situation. "And one of yours doesn't have one." Which was his perfect opportunity to step in. He could intervene and ruin the others' plans. It would be perfect.

It was obvious that Seifer was talking about Lightning--everyone else had a Keyblade. But if everyone needed a Keyblade, then she'd get one. "Thanks for telling us," he said calmly. "We'll give her a Keyblade right away. You can go now." He needed to go back to Xehanort, wherever he was.
