Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Good luck getting there before I do, chickenwuss," Seifer said. He summoned a portal a few feet behind him, hearing a few gasps of fear nearby. Oh, the islanders. Whoops. He lifted his free hand in mock salute the two teens before backing into his portal, disappearing from sight.

"H-hey!" Roxas protested, reaching a hand towards the portal. But it was too late--Seifer vanished. He grunted and turned a head towards Namine, realizing how close she was standing to him then. "I don't know what he's going to do, but we need to get to Disney Castle," he said. They probably didn't know Seifer as an enemy...He would do something to trick them. Something bad.

Namine blinked when Roxas turned around, recognizing their close proximity quickly. But then she focused on the matter at hand. "N-no, Roxas," she said softly. "You go." She would try talking to everyone here to make sure they remained calm. Of course, it was no secret that some evil was out there, but she had to let them know that they were safe...for now.
Roxas shook his head, looking at Namine right in the eye. "I don't want to leave you alone," he said bluntly. She wasn't in danger, really, because Seifer was busy with his other friends. But he still didn't like this at all. She just stood up for him, and now he was going to run away from her...That wasn't right.

Namine smiled ever so slightly, finding his defensive nature sweet. He really cared. The old Roxas was truly with her, not that she ever doubted it. "I'll be okay," she told him with a small nod, one of her hands moving to rest on his arm. "They have no reason to come for me anymore. The others need you more." The safety of the Seven was more important than Namine.
Roxas frowned, glancing down at the ground. Namine was right...as much as he hated to admit it. He set a hand atop hers and looked up, meeting her eyes. "I want you to go somewhere only you know of," he said strictly. "Stay as hidden as you can until I come back, okay?" He wanted her to be safe, even if he couldn't be here to guarantee that safety.

Namine glanced down at their hands and nodded. "Promise," she said softly, lifting her eyes back to the blue opposite her. She would do as Roxas asked and stay safe, for precautionairy reasons. That was an oath she would keep.
Roxas nodded slightly, holding eye-contact with Namine for a few more moments before he took his hand off hers and took a few steps away. At least he had the sense to wear his armor. Now he could hurry to the castle. He summoned his armor and then transformed his Keyblade into a glider--a simple one that he stood upon-- and flew off into a portal. He had to help his friends.

Namine watched Roxas go in silence, her small smile fading once he was gone. She then looked down at Faye. She bent down to pick her up, holding her to her chest as she put her bag over her shoulder. She then proceeded to leave the park, telling the people who stared at her that "It's okay" and "Everything's alright." They couldn't be scared, not right now. They were safe for the time being.

Disney Castle

Lightning and Riku were back in the training room, as they had been for a while now. It was a completely new exercise though. Now they were working with weapons, and Riku had to step on the right ones to avoid her blade and block it with his own. She was still using her gunblade for the time being--Riku said the Keyblade wouldn't appear for maybe a day or two. That was okay; at least she had something to fight with now. She grunted and swung at him again, knowing he could miss this sword while also stepping correctly.

Riku ducked and stepped over onto the correct tile, then swinging his weapon at Lightning as well. Things were tougher, but dodging weapons was something he was good at. Lightning surely saw that, though adding the "correct tile" bit did make it more difficult. He turned his head sharply though when the door opened, the program halting because of it. "Kairi?"
Lightning ducked as well to avoid Riku's Keyblade, her sword coming down to her side at the interruption. She and Riku may have been standing in close quarters now, but it wasn't because of anything intimate, obviously. Even the next person who entered the room must have realized this. Lightning blinked in surprise when she saw Master Yen Sid and another person come into the room. Who was this guy?

Kairi's eyes were full of worry and fear as she looked from Lightning to her best friend. "Riku..." she said softly. The guy standing behind her was here to fight for the last place in their Seven. And because Lightning was the only one recently brought into this...she had to fight.

Riku straightened up, taking a step forward to stand slightly in front of Lightning. "Master Yen Sid...?" he said in question, recognizing Kairi's tone. It wasn't good, and by the smell he got from this new guy, things weren't any better. He smelled, bad.

Master Yen Sid looked at Riku from underneath the eyebrows that never unfurrowed. "This is Seifer Almasy," he said calmly to both Riku and Lightning, though he couldn't see the latter too well because of Riku's position. "He believes he has a claim to our seventh position." He was a part of his home world's army--SeeD. Though Master Yen Sid didn't know much about him, if he wanted to fight for them and had more fighting experience, he was a better candidate than Lightning was.

Riku's eyebrows furrowed as he looked Seifer over, thinking he recognized him. He looked too familiar. "...He does?" he asked lowly, though nobody needed to answer the question. It wasn't like Riku really needed one. Seifer smirked at him, and Riku did the same. "Last time I checked, Seifer, the only thing you were good at was Struggle tournaments."

Kairi blinked. "You know each other?" she asked, looking from Riku to Seifer and then back again. Reading Riku's body language, she could tell he was on guard. That made her feel cautious as well. Her Princess of Heart powers always helped her sense Darkness. Clearly she wasn't the only one who felt it from Seifer.

Seifer put a hand on his hip and shook his head. "Must be a one-sided acquaintance," he said. "But just so you know, the position's still open. Fair game, experience or not."

"The position's already been filled," Riku practically snapped. Master Yen Sid had to have known that. The Keyblade already belonged to Lightning.

"I see Lightning is still fighting with her original weapon," Master Yen Sid said calmly, used to Riku's temper by now. "Which means that you haven't given her the Keyblade as you assured me you would do. Until she has a Keyblade, she isn't fully a part of the group. The position is available, and I know how to decide who becomes our seventh." A fight, as he told Kairi already.

Riku shook his head, his grasp on the Keyblade tightening considerably. "Master Yen Sid," he tried. Whatever he thought Riku didn't do, he did. "I already gave--"

"You heard the Master," Seifer interrupted, earning an icy glare from Riku. "Position's still open. If you don't mind, I'd like to get this started." He was ready to be one of the Seven and sabotage the group's progress. This would work quite well.

Master Yen Sid agreed with Seifer, though his attitude wasn't ideal. But strength was more important than attitude right now. "Riku, Kairi, join me outside," he said. "Seifer and Lightning will fight. Whoever wins will be the seventh." He hadn't decided what counted as winning yet, but that would come around eventually.

Riku blinked, eyes narrowing in disbelief. Master Yen Sid couldn't be serious! Didn't he sense the power inside Lightning? He opened his mouth to retort, but a look from Kairi stopped him. Right, as if he could change Master Yen Sid's mind. As Seifer marched forward and summoned a weapon similar to Lightning's, Riku turned to look at the girl next to him. He tried.
Lightning looked up at Riku and nodded faintly in seriousness. She normally was silent in serious situations, and this situation wasn't an exception to the rule. Besides, her eyes conveyed her message well enough. Don't worry. I'll put him in his place. She was strong--she could do this. Even if she wouldn't be fighting with a Keyblade, she had new confidence because of the power it made her feel inside. She could defeat Seifer.

Riku read the message in Lightning's eyes and stepped forward, cupping her face with his hand and placing a gentle kiss to her lips. "Good luck," he told her softly. He knew she could do this, but he got a very...unsettling vibe from Seifer. He stepped away from Lightning, sparing a glance Seifer's way. The smug smile was enough to set Riku off, but he kept his composure as he walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him and joining Master Yen Sid and Kairi in the observation room.

Master Yen Sid stood outside the observation window, seeing Lightning and Seifer face each other and glare for a few moments before Lightning ran forward and innitiated the battle. He didn't bother glancing over at Riku, and he didn't bother telling him what he already knew. He knew Lightning had a Keyblade--he sensed the power within her. That didn't change his thoughts. "Whoever is the better warrior will complete us," he said to both Riku and Kairi.

Kairi watched the fight in silence up until that moment, seeing blows dealt between the two people in the opposite room. "How will you decide the winner?" she asked Master Yen Sid. What would be the deciding factor? Kairi surely didn't know, and she doubted Riku had any idea either.

Master Yen Sid only kept his eyes on the fight, seeing Seifer disarm Lightning and Lightning do the same to him in a skilled move. She was strong--he'd say that much. But thus far, it had been an even match. And the girl's Keyblade hadn't made itself known yet. Yet she was a Keyblade wielder...and they could not let her leave here with it if she lost. That left only one option, and neither of these two would like to hear it. Lightning would have to die if Seifer won.

Kairi turned her head to look at Master Yen Sid, who stood beside her. "Master Yen Sid?" she called softly. Did he have an answer for her? Surely he did. He wouldn't let this fight start without a deciding factor in mind.
