Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"Good," Jihl said. "Then you won't mind another." She quickly shot off another bullet, though it was aimed at Riku's other leg this time. She was reenacting some of the torture; taunting Riku about Lightning's superior reactions to pain would get to him quickly.

Riku cried out again in agony, feeling the bullet pierce bone. He fought to stay on his feet, stumbling until he grabbed a stand of weights for support. "Stop it!" he hollered in fury. His legs burned and blood poured from his new wounds, but he wasn't giving up. The unshed tears from before were gone, and now all he could register was his pain and his anger. Jihl would pay for this.

Lightning set a hand on the ground, fighting to rise to her feet. She wasn't just going to sit there while Riku was being shot through the legs! She slowly started to rise, though the sound of the gun loading made her freeze when she was only inches up from her previous position.

"I wouldn't do that, little girl," Jihl advised as she now pointed the gun at Lightning. "It's brave that you want to protect a worthless Keyblade Master, but why don't you sit back down and let him do the saving, hm?" She saw Lightning's eyes narrow on her in anger, but she welcomed it. Her anger was greater than Lightning's.

Riku breathed heavily to get through the pain, one hand on the stack of weights as he glared at Jihl. "Leave her alone," he snapped. "I'm the one you want, right? I'm the one who said Cedric would die, didn't I?" He took a step forward, grunting at the pain it caused. "So come on, Jihl. You want me? Come get me." It wasn't like he could go very far; she practically immobilized him.

"I'd rather not." Jihl swiftly pointed the gun at Riku again, and though she could have killed him immediately, she aimed for his legs once more and shot. Like Cedric, Jihl limited herself to shooting at the shins of her victim. She didn't want bullets getting lodged in the legs, which would surely happen if she shot the thigh. No, the bullet going straight through was worse in a way because there was no bullet to plug the hole and hinder blood-flow.

Riku grunted, staggering at the newest gunshot wound. He hissed as he breathed through his teeth, gripping the stand next to him so he could remain on his feet. It took all his will, since the burning sensation made him want to take his weight off his legs. Now he knew what Lightning suffered. It was awful. "I already...told you," he panted, looking up at the witch across from him. "I've suffered worse." Bullets weren't going to stop Riku from fighting, if he had to. Jihl needed a new method.

"So has Lightning," Jihl said, nodding to the girl on the floor. "How many was the maximum bullet wounds you had at once?" she asked Lightning, though she already knew the answer. "I believe it was five...Oh and one of them was dangerously close to your kneecap, wasn't it--?" She stopped short, taking her eyes off Riku and looking to Lightning. Though she had been speaking to the girl, she kept her eyes on Riku for his reaction. Now she saw that was a bad idea, for while she wasn't looking, Lightning struggled to her feet and was now standing.

"L-Lightning," Riku grunted, looking from Jihl to the girl he was so fond of. The girl he cared so much for. He didn't want her getting hurt because of him, not again. She needed to stay out of this. "Don't." Riku could handle this.

"Stupid girl," Jihl hissed in disbelief. "What could you possible hope to--":Her eyes widened when Lightning lifted a hand and sent a fireball at her. No way was she falling victim to Lightning and her fire magic again. Last time they faced each other and Riku was out of commission, Lightning burned her whip to ashes with fire magic. She teleported behind Lightning, who couldn't move quickly enough because of her legs to avoid her. Jihl grabbed her arm and threw her across the room, watching as the girl smashed into one of the elliptical bikes and fell to the ground in a heap. Stupid girl. Stay out of my way.

Riku reached out toward Lightning naturally. "Light!" he called, stepping with the call and falling to his knees. He put his hands on the ground and panted through the burning sensation in his legs, knowing that he had to be strong here. He had to compose himself and fight! He was a Keyblade Master! He had to be stronger than this!

Jihl didn't care that Lightning was uncurling herself by the bike. Her deadly focus was now on Riku. "You're both so stupid," she growled. "Trying to fight when you're already broken. You're worse than she is, Keyblade Master. You should have had the wisdom to know that I would be coming for both of you." But what did he do? He isolated both of them from anyone who could help. He was a fool.

"Maybe I didn't, but nobody else is being brought into this. My friends don't need to be involved," Riku said, glaring up at Jihl as he moved one foot to the floor. "I can handle this myself." He was a Master, just like she said. He could do this. He had training for this. He fought Ansem, and he was Riku's personal demon. Riku could take Jihl just as well.

"Oh can you?" Jihl mocked. "You just condemned Lightning to murder because you couldn't sit through one of twelve hours of footage. You're so strong, Keyblade Master." She did a mock bow, her actions doing the same to Riku. It was one thing to be pathetic and admit to it, but pretending to be strong when you're really pathetic was just pitiful.

Riku simply locked his jaw, releasing a growl out of frustration. He forced himself to his feet and summoned his Keyblade, having to correct his feet so he didn't fall down again. "For her," Riku said of Lightning, "I will be." Jihl may have been mocking him, but Riku was serious. He would fight despite his injuries. Lightning wouldn't be convicted of murder because Riku wasn't strong enough to watch the tape. But he was strong enough to defeat Jihl.

"Great job so far," Jihl said sarcastically. She didn't turn around as she rotated the blade in her hand, pointing the gun at the girl who was behind her on the ground. "What would you do if I shot her here, hm? Could you even take one step on those legs?" She doubted it. Last time he tried, he just fell to his knees. Nothing was stopping her from killing Lightning immediately.

"I don't need to in order to move," Riku snarled. He had Dark powers, just like Jihl did. Steps weren't required by him. He could teleport just like she could. He could be next to her in an instant. If Jihl threatened Lightning again, he would.

"Then I wonder why you haven't struck me down sooner," Jihl taunted. "Tell me Riku, could you really teleport behind me right now and kill me? I'm sure that's what you would like to do." There was a reason why Jihl wasn't afraid of Riku's magic: She enchanted the bullets. Riku wouldn't be performing any spells any time soon, including teleporting.

Riku ground his teeth, glaring at Jihl for only a moment. He would love to strike her down, and he closed his eyes so he could teleport...but nothing happened. He opened his eyes and looked at his body in confusion. What was going on?

"Enchanted bullets," Jihl smirked. "Your magic's turned off. But don't worry--" She lifted the gun and pointed it straight at Riku's heart. "The bullets can still kill." And she'd prove it to him rather quickly. She heard a cry of pain, but it wasn't one from right now--the televisions were still playing the recording, and Lightning had just been shot by her father once more. She wanted Riku to suffer agony before he died at her hand, and hearing the recording was one way to make him suffer.

Riku heard the holler of agony on the video, and he closed his eyes at the sound. It hurt his heart. It was like a bullet pierced it, but that was exactly what Jihl intended to do. Riku opened his eyes and lifted his Keyblade in defiance, ready to block the next bullet that came at him. Even with wounded legs, he would still fight.

Jihl hmphed, pointing the gun behind her again in a swift movement at Riku's defiant pose. Now that Riku knew that he couldn't teleport and save Lightning, what would he do to protect her? He had no options here. She wondered, should she kill Lightning first to make him suffer? Or simply wound her? Or, she smirked, should she cause Lightning to slowly die and have Riku watch her life unravel for an hour?

Riku simply glared at Jihl, not saying a word. Cedric's horrific words played throughout the gym, but Riku tuned them out. He had to focus. It didn't matter how much pain he was in, or how much he suffered. He needed to protect Lightning. He would do whatever he could.

Jihl was about to shoot off a bullet while keeping her eyes on Riku, but little did she know, her target wasn't going to sit there and wait for her to shoot. Her lack of attention to Lightning was going to cause her downfall this day.

When Lightning was flung towards the elliptical bike, she noticed that Jihl's attention was solely on Riku. That worked to her advantage. Being the intelligent and strategic girl she was, she looked around and saw an item within reach: a long jump rope. Once the gun was off Riku and closer to her, she swung one end of the jump rope forward and latched it around Jihl's neck, the other end swinging back towards Lightning because of the momentum she put behind the swing. Her aim was perfect. The second end landed right in her grasp and she immediately tugged at both ends, pulling Jihl back as the rope cut off her ability to breathe. The gun went off as Jihl stumbled back in surprise, but Lightning was so fueled by adrenaline that she couldn't tell if she was hit or not.

Riku blinked at the turn of events. He jumped at the gunshot, but otherwise didn't move. He couldn't. Lightning was saving him this time, even if he wasn't in immediate danger. He could only stand there, his arm slowly lowering his weapon as he did so.

Jihl spun around once she was by Lightning to break free from the rope that strangled her, viewing the girl who used her adrenaline to rise to her feet within five inches of her face. "You little b--" She gasped, suddenly in excruciating pain. She was just...impaled.

Lightning also blinked in surprise, having not expected the latter event to happen. She hadn't reached down and grabbed the gunblade. In fact, she saw Jihl start to lift the gunblade towards her, so she instinctively began to lift a hand to defend herself. But in that hand, a weapon materialized for the first time. It was sharp around the hilt with gray and blue spikes. The main body of the Keyblade was straight and sword-like except for the many sparks of blue electricity that radiated from the weapon even after it stabbed through Jihl's torso. This was her Keyblade.
