Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Riku only smiled faintly, gazing at Lightning for a moment before he left the room. If he made that promise, he would break it, which meant he would be by her side. But was that what she truly wanted? At this point, Riku wasn't sure. So until morning, Riku would keep his distance.

It was the middle of the night and Roxas was tired. He was like Sora in that he deeply appreciated any chance he could get to sleep. Unfortunately, now wasn't a chance for him to sleep. He was at Namine's house because she was having trouble sleeping. Every once in a while since the Organization situation, Namine had nights where she couldn't stand the darkness or silence or being alone. Roxas wasn't sure whether she called him because she wanted him or because he was the only option she had, but he was glad either way. He was partly responsible for this, so he wanted to help her heal. That was why he sat on the floor and leaned against the bedroom door, his eyes shut even if he was still awake as Namine laid down in her bed in the same room. He hoped she was finally getting some rest.

Namine turned over in her bed again, frowning as she fought her thoughts and wished to sleep. It didn't matter whether she had company or not, she guessed; she just couldn't fall asleep. It was more than frustrating, since not only was she suffering from sleep deprivation, but Roxas was too. It wasn't fair that she had to bring him down along with her. The last few weeks, he had been really great. He was the genuine boy she met in Twilight Town. The only reason he wasn't was because of you, Namine thought bitterly, eyebrows furrowing. If she hadn't messed up, Roxas never would have had to deal with being different, or angry, or pessimistic for no reason. It was her fault.

Not sleeping, Roxas thought of Namine. She didn't toss and turn much when she was actually asleep, but when she was trying to fall asleep and was frustrated, she was constantly on the move. He only knew that because of how many times she called him over in the past month or so. Of course he didn't mind being called over. He was more sad that he couldn't help her with this at all. He felt helpless and he hated it.

Seifer figured this was too easy. Not only was the witch vulnerable in her bed, but her protector--the reckless and nosy lamer--hadn't been training much with his Keyblade. If he had, it was mediocre. All he had to do was get the girl and his job was done; she was becoming precious to the Keyblader. Roxas made this too simple, sitting across the room like he was.

Namine heard nothing but her own breathing, but that didn't mean the feeling in her heart was something she needed to ignore. It was heavy with fear, and a sudden coldness seemed to cover the room; bumps rose on her skin, just like they had when she was in The World That Never Was. Namine opened her eyes, which widened drastically when she saw a figure looming over her bed. It definitely wasn't someone with good intentions. A hand shot out and grasped her arm, causing Namine to shriek in fear. "Roxas!" she cried. It was Seifer!

Roxas bolted to his feet, eyes immediately wide. Since he had been sitting in the darkness for a while, his eyes quickly and easily locked onto the person hovering over the bed. "Seifer!" Roxas roared, sprinting across the room in just two seconds. He lunged and tackled the Organization's member, rolling onto the floor with him and forcing himself to be on top. He didn't care what he was doing there; he just wanted to get him away from Namine as quickly as he could.

The force from Roxas's tackle had Namine falling from her bed, Seifer's grip strong enough to hold her until he rolled across the floor with Roxas. She sat up quickly, ignoring the aches in her body from the fall as she swiped the hair from her face, wide eyes on Roxas and Seifer as the latter summoned a weapon. "No!"

Roxas put a knee on Seifer's dominant arm, seeing the gunblade he summoned reflecting in the moonlight. "What are you doing here, Seifer?" Roxas snarled. He thought that he and Seifer were saving their feud for the day the seven and the thirteen clashed, yet here Seifer was. Roxas was confused by his sudden appearance--and he hated being confused.

"Taking the witch from you, blondie," Seifer grunted, summoning Darkness around his free hand and knocking Roxas roughly upside the head and off of him. Roxas ruined his plans of sabotaging the Seven, and was just plain annoying. Seifer was determined to get revenge.

Roxas grunted, rolling to the side. That hurt, but he wasn't going to let a little pain stop him. "Namine, go!" he cried, summoning both Oathkeeper and Oblivion into his grasp as he rose to his feet. There was obviously going to be a fight, and he didn't want her anywhere near it.

Namine blinked at the order, eyes darting from Roxas to Seifer as the villain focused on her. He wanted her?! But why?! Regardless, Namine scrambled to her feet and raced toward the door, throwing it open just as an ice spell hit the wall beside her. She continued running, hearing heavy footsteps behind her. Seifer was following her?

"No you don't!" Roxas cried, jumping at Seifer from behind as he swung Oblivion at him. He didn't know why Seifer was so focused on Namine...except maybe he wanted her so he could recreate the events that occurred in The World That Never Was. Roxas gritted his teeth, prepared to swing Oathkeeper at Seifer if his initial attack failed. He wasn't getting his way again.

Seifer turned at the last second and blocked the attack with his gunblade. "Give it up, blondie," he said with a smirk. "You haven't been practicing near enough to defeat me." He grunted and thrust his weapon up, giving himself an opening to kick Roxas in the chest. Namine was Seifer's, end of story.

Roxas beat Seifer to the punch--or really, to the kick. He lifted his own and planted it in the center of Seifer's chest, shoving him backwards. Maybe he hadn't been practicing much, but he wasn't about to give in to this creep. "What do you want?" he cried as he ran forward and swung his blades at Seifer again.

Seifer blocked the attack once more with his gunblade, glaring at Roxas. "I already told you: Namine," he said. "You got in my way. You ruined my little 'surprise' for your friends. Namine's my vengeance." She couldn't leave the apartment; he already put a spell on the door. She was locked in.

"She's not!" Roxas hissed, swinging a Keyblade and pressing it against the gunblade. "And if you don't leave now, Xehanort's gonna be mad. We're saving this for the final clash, remember?" Seifer could get his revenge then, and it would be on Roxas, not Namine.

Seifer couldn't help but laugh. He jumped away from Roxas's blades, putting some space between them. "You idiot," he said lowly. "You are so out of the loop! There is no final clash, genius! We failed to assemble our Thirteen in time. It's over. Done. Terminated." Besides, now Seifer had all this power and the freedom to do what he wanted with it. He felt great.

Namine hid around the corner, where Roxas and Seifer were within earshot. She had trouble hearing since her pulse filled her ears, but she heard enough. Seifer was here for her, and the final clash wasn't happening. So now he had time to exact revenge on Roxas...through Namine.

Roxas blinked, surprised at this turn of events. Was that why Riku and Lightning were here? Because they knew that their troubles were mostly over? Well they definitely weren't over for Roxas, but they would be soon. A smirk worked its way onto his lips. "So that means I don't have to hold back anymore," he said simply. He didn't have to wait for any final clash, so he could go all out here and take Seifer down tonight.

"Hold back?" Seifer repeated, lifting an eyebrow. "Hold back what? Looks to me like you're out of practice, Keyblader." Seifer would win this fight easily. He would defeat Roxas and take Namine. "You'll die and I'll whisk little Namine away for my own pleasures. I came close last time, but you had to step in. I'll make sure I get my way this time."

Namine blinked, her breath catching in her throat. No! She was nobody...plaything! Seifer was nothing but a creep, and she wouldn't be a toy to the Organization like she was when she altered Sora's memories. Not again. Namine looked around and found a lamp nearby, pulling it to her chest, simultaneously unplugging it from the wall. Roxas wouldn't do this alone. If she could, she would hurt Seifer herself.

"Enough talking," Roxas growled angrily, his smirk gone. Seifer was seriously ticking him off. Why'd he have to keep bringing Namine into this? He wasn't going to get her no matter how many times he spoke of her. Roxas attacked quickly and precisely, knowing one thing: Seifer was right when he said Roxas was out of practice. That meant he had to finish this quickly.

Namine couldn't move to help. All she could do was stand there and listen to Roxas and Seifer battle it out in her bedroom. She wouldn't be able to sleep in there for a long time, but that was the least of her concerns. What about Roxas? Seifer was right; Roxas hadn't been training like he should have because she was so needy. She jumped when someone collided with the wall in the hallway, and she peeked around the corner to see who it was. Seifer.

Roxas stepped out of the bedroom, Oblivion in his one hand and his side in his other. Seifer got in a good strike to his side earlier and now Roxas was focusing on fighting with one weapon instead of two. It was almost even...except Seifer did have an advantage. That's why Roxas rushed at the boy against the wall, prepared to run him through with his Keyblade and finish this once and for all.

Namine heard rushed footsteps, then metal piercing the wall. She looked around the corner only to have Seifer's back to her. Bravely, she quickly moved away from her hiding spot and swung the lamp at the back of his head with a grunt. The hit landed and the lamp shattered, but then Seifer turned to her. His eyes were alight with anger, but also amusement.

"So the little witch came out to play," Seifer said with a smirk. He would have some fun now that she was directly involved.

Namine took a step back, slipping on a broken piece of glass from the lamp and falling to the floor. Glass cut into the skin of her arms and pierced her back, causing her to gasp in pain. Seifer took a step toward her, gunblade in hand. He wouldn't kill her. He needed her...

Namine! Roxas mentally scolded. He didn't bother yanking his weapon out of the wall, finding it quicker to summon Oathkeeper to his grasp as he swung it at Seifer's back. Why didn't she run out of here like he told her to?! This fight wasn't going to end well.

Seifer cried out when his back burned from the attack, but that was when he retaliated with a swipe of his gunblade. Roxas was weakened from their fight moments ago. Seifer would end this quickly, grab the witch, and leave. This battle had his name written all over it. He would be the victor.
