Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Namine released a faint laugh, smiling once it left her and opening her eyes to see Roxas closer. "You're the farthest thing from a grump," she told him softly, fighting the blush on her cheeks. Roxas was getting good at making her nervous, and making her blush. How many times was that today?

"Alright, but the point still stands," Roxas said, allowing himself to smirk to try to make Namine feel less shy. He was feeling it too, but it was her cheeks that showed shyness more than his. "You don't even make fun of my terrible art--too much." She did burst out laughing at his bed a little while ago, so that was one case she made fun of his art.

Namine's faint smile turned into a grimace as she gazed at Roxas. "Sorry," she said, then giggling a little. His art was adorable, honestly. She wanted him to do more, just so she could see his creations. They resembled those of a five year old, but because it was Roxas, it made the "masterpieces" that much more precious. Namine loved them.

"I can't take your apology seriously when you start laughing right after you say 'sorry'," Roxas chuckled. He didn't believe that Namine was sorry for one moment; she may have been an extremely kind person, but laughing at the art was harmless and she knew it. She had no reason to be sorry.

"Oh, c'mon!" Namine whined, tilting her head to the side as she gazed at the boy in front of her. His laughter had her heart leaping, and she doubted Roxas knew that. If he did, what would he think? What if he found out that she got weak at the knees when he smiled, or that smirk...? Just thinking about it had Namine clutching at her shorts, afraid her nerves would get the best of her. Whether it was her heart being in some way tied to Kairi's, and Roxas's to Sora's, Namine had a connection to Roxas in more ways than one. Sora and Kairi were married, in love. Did that mean that Roxas and Namine were destined for the same?

"Nope, not changing my mind," Roxas said upon hearing Namine's whine. It was true though--how could he take an apology seriously when she laughed right after saying it? He was right and she knew it. He leaned back in the chair, lifting the front legs off the chair as he rocked slightly.

Namine huffed and lowered her gaze to her hands in her lap, not knowing how else to respond. Roxas knew she was sorry regardless of the small laughter, but he also knew that she liked his paintings, even if they viewed them differently. Besides, if they hadn't joked about his first painting, Namine would never have been able to paint his face different colors, nor would he have dabbed blue paint on her nose.

"You should go on painting," Roxas suggested as he closed his eyes. He liked it when she painted, and she liked when she painted. She smiled more today than she had in the past few weeks just because she had the chance to be artistic. He was going to let her take advantage of the room and make her smile as much as he could.

Namine looked up at the suggestion, but instead she found a table on the other side of the room. "I can paint anytime," she claimed. "But I have limited access to pottery." She rose to her feet and stepped between both of their chairs to get away from the table, starting toward the setup. She had never done pottery before. It was available at school, but she never found the time to try it. Now was a different story.

"Alright," Roxas agreed. He spun around on his chair, sitting on it backwards as he rested his arms on the back of the chair as he looked to Namine. "I'll sit this one out and watch the master at work." He wanted to see what she came up with pottery wise, and he wanted to see if he needed to fix the clay somehow. He got a recipe for clay from the library and it seemed like he made it okay, but he still wanted to make sure it was good.

"Oh no," Namine said with a shake of her head, sitting down next to the machine. "I've never done this before." She was far from a master at this kind of thing. She wasn't even sure how to work the machine. There was a pedal. Did she just grab the clay and...start?

"I have faith in your natural ability, then," Roxas said with a nonchalant wave of his hand. But seriously, even if Namine never did work with clay before, he was sure that she'd be fine. After all, she was an artist at heart.

Namine lifted her eyes to Roxas and smiled in gratitude. He was so sweet... He never had to be nice to her, ever. She didn't deserve it after all the bad she did in the past, but here he was, hanging out with her after making an art room for her and protecting her and just...being her friend. It was heartwarming, and flattering. Roxas had a lot of friends, and yet he hung out with her most of the time. But why?

Roxas and Namine were quiet for a while, since Namine was putting everything into the art that she never tried before. She messed up spinning the clay so many times that he lost count, but she was getting better at it. He watched calmly from his spot, eventually resting his chin on his arms, then the side of his head. The quiet in the room was so peaceful that after a tiring day of training and failing at art, he fell asleep on that chair.

Namine messed up with her pottery again, more clay getting away from her hands and splattering everywhere. She huffed and took her foot off the pedal, looking down at her clothes. She was covered in clay, and she had some on her hands, arms, and bits of her face as well. She needed to clean herself up. "I'm a mess, aren't I?" she asked with a small smile, lifting her head to look over at Roxas. But that was when she noticed that he was sleeping. Roxas was...sleeping. Namine never saw him sleep before, except for that one time when he crashed at her apartment after getting everyone out of the school when a snowstorm came. But this... This was different.

Roxas furrowed his eyebrows slightly at the first noise he heard in an hour, though he wasn't angered by it. He peeked his eyes open and saw Namine at the same spot he saw her last, though she was messier than before. What, did I doze off? he drowsily wondered to himself. He must have, or Namine wouldn't be looking at him like that.

Namine's smile softened at the look on Roxas's face. If she thought he was cute before, he was adorable now. From what Kairi told her, Sora was most adorable when he was sleeping or waking up in the mornings. Roxas was the same. The blonde rose from her seat and walked over toward Roxas, putting her messy hands on her knees and leaning forward to be at his level. "Maybe...you should get some sleep," Namine suggested, voice soft in the otherwise quiet room. Roxas hadn't slept much due to Namine's neediness.

"Alright," Roxas said quietly. He looked at Namine for a few more moments before he let his eyes close again. He would sleep here for a little while, though he imagined that it must have been later in the day. He had been training after lunch, Namine came to him mid-afternoon and they were in the room for hours. They probably missed dinner.

Namine blinked when Roxas closed his eyes again, and she lifted a hand. "No, no, Roxas," she said in disagreement. "I meant in your room." She didn't touch him, afraid of getting him messy with clay; she already contributed with the finger paint. Everyone had separate rooms apart from the couples, who shared a bed. Roxas and Namine were on their own.

"But I like this room," Roxas whined without opening his eyes. Over the past few hours, he began to understand why Namine invited him to that room: she considered the art room as belonging to both of them even though he intended it to be solely hers. But now that it was their room, he wanted to be in it together with her too.

Namine smiled again at the whine, something else she found cute about Roxas. "I'm done for the day. I need to get cleaned up," she explained. "You can go to bed once you get to your room." She wasn't sure what she would do, since she had trouble sleeping these days. She hadn't slept in...days, really. Maybe a few hours at a time. at best. If she needed anyone, she would find Kairi. Roxas needed to catch up on his sleep.

"You made a mess of my face," Roxas pointed out, peeking his eyes open as he gazed at the girl before him. "You should clean that up too." She got a lot more paint on his face than he had on hers; she had one dot while he had a line, a blob on his cheek and a bigger blob on his chin for a beard.

Namine's smile remained as she nodded. "Alright," she said. "Come with me to my room." She would clean his face up before he headed off to bed, if that was what he preferred. But the paint on his face was pretty amusing. She wished she had her camera.

"Alright," Roxas agreed. He moved off the chair, keeping his hands on the back of it as he rose. He was hardly off balance despite his sleep, probably because it was such a short nap. He realized that he was being invited to Namine's bedroom, but it was only to be cleaned up. The only reason he was really going was to spend a few extra minutes with her anyway.

Namine gazed at Roxas as he rose, noticing that he was slightly off balance, but she forced herself to look away so she didn't stare. Instead, she tucked some hair behind her ear, getting more clay on her in the process, and started out of the room. The walk to her room wouldn't be a long one, even if the castle was pretty big.
