Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Roxas walked behind Sora, another blonde by his side. Just a few days ago, he and Namine spent their first day in the art room together. And he said goodnight with that small kiss on the cheek...That night, he stayed awake for hours thinking about it and questioning whether it was the right move or not. When she came to him the next night and asked him if he wanted to hang out in the art room again, he knew it wasn't a mistake. He showed Namine affection and she responded...His hand brushed against hers as they walked, and he mumbled an apology, though he wasn't overly sorry for the accidental touch.

Namine glanced over at Roxas when he mumbled the apology, but she only smiled weakly, then quickly diverting her eyes. Ever since that kiss on the cheek...she couldn't look at Roxas without getting butterflies. He...kissed her. Roxas actually kissed her. Even if it was on the cheek, she remembered having her breath taken away by it. Did Roxas...like her? Was today even a good day to think about it? With that thought and the fear of flying on her brain, Namine wasn't sure what she was going to do.

I wonder what Kairi thinks, Roxas thought, though he didn't look back at the redhead. Namine had to have told her that he gave her a peck on the cheek; the two were like sisters. But Kairi had been angry at him a few weeks ago because he left Namine in a tight spot. What did she think of him making a move on Namine?

"Sora, you're not getting us lost, are you?" Riku called from behind Roxas and Namine. Sora and Kairi were leading the pack, the married couple hand in hand. Riku had only been on the boat in Neverland, never the Island. He really hoped Sora knew where he was going.

"Uh, well..." Sora said sheepishly, looking back at Riku and everyone else. "I've never actually been on the island, so..." Basically, he didn't know where they were going. He had been by the London clock-tower with Peter Pan and on Hook's ship, but that was it. No Neverland.

Aqua smiled when she heard Riku groan, and she looked over at Ven. She wrapped her arm around his back as they walked. "Don't worry. Ven really liked this place," she said, remembering what he told her of his adventures here. "He should know where to find her, right?" She looked over at her friend, who was the same height as her these days. He had grown a lot since she saw him after leaving him to sleep, but that was expected after more than a decade apart.

"Yeah," Ven said brightly. He looked around the area, trying to remember where to find Tinkerbell. "She should be--" He cut off that sentence, the fairy in question suddenly hovering directly in front of him. "In front of my nose." He smiled warmly, lifting a hand as he waved to the friend he hadn't seen in so many years. But she probably didn't know it, since people in Neverland didn't grow up or grow old. Time must not have been a real factor here.

Kairi turned when she heard Ven speak of the fairy, and her eyes widened at the sight of her. Tinkerbell was so small, and she glowed with a warm golden light. She was beautiful. Kairi couldn't help but smile as the fairy danced around Ven's head, and then moved over to Sora in recognition. Sora told Kairi that Tinkerbell helped him fly. Was it possible for all of them?

Sora smiled to his friend, chuckling in glee as she flew around him. He was excited for this. He always wanted to bring Kairi to Neverland--ever since his first time coming. But over the years, he basically fell into a normal life at home except for the fame part, so travel to other worlds was rare. Now though, he wanted to fulfill his original dream.

Namine gazed at the fairy that hovered around, her eyes bright with wonder. She had never seen something like a fairy before. Tinkerbell was amazing. Wasn't she always with Peter Pan, though? From what Sora said, those two were practically inseparable, but...maybe Peter was with Wendy today instead. Namine's eyes widened when Tinkerbell suddenly flew straight toward Riku and used her tiny foot to kick him in the nose.

Riku grunted at the sharp jab to his nose, stepping back as he glared at the fairy. "Ow," he said in protest. What was the big deal? Was she still mad at him over the past? He didn't say to capture Tinkerbell. That was Hook's doing.

"Old friend?" Lightning mused, pulling her head back slightly so that she had a better view of Riku. He told her about his past, though he didn't go into specifics for every single world. It didn't take a genius to figure out that this fairy didn't like him for some reason, and she figured it was because she knew him when he was pursuing Darkness.

"Not really," Riku said, glancing at Lightning out of the corner of his eye before he found Tinkerbell. She was "ringing" and talking animatedly, which meant she was yelling at him. Riku simply lifted one of his hands, his strength proving useful with Lightning yet again, and flicked the fairy away from him. She soared a few feet and bumped into Namine, who stumbled back into Roxas at the contact. All Riku did was smirk as Tinkerbell got even angrier. "Whoops."

Lightning hmphed, witnessing Roxas set his hands on Namine's upper arms to balance her out. However, her main focus was on the fairy that was very irritated now. "Didn't we have to be on her good side for the pixie dust?" she reminded Riku. Since Tinkerbell was angry, she doubted Riku would be getting any of that dust now.

"Unless someone begs her to share with me, I'll probably be sitting this one out," Riku said, holding Lightning securely to his back. He didn't mind carrying her, and he didn't mind not flying. He had his glider for that, after all. He mainly came here so Lightning could do it. She would love it.

While Riku spoke, Namine's thoughts were elsewhere. She took in the feeling of Roxas's warm hands on her skin, and the secure grip he had on her to make sure she stayed on her feet. Maybe it had just been a gut reaction to catch her, but...she liked to think it was more. Especially since he hadn't yet removed his hands.

Roxas glanced at Namine in front of him, blushing slightly when he realized that he held onto her for too long. He didn't even hear Sora pleading for his friend's sake, saying that, "Riku's just an idiot." If he had heard, he would have chimed in his agreement. As it were, he was distracted by the girl he finally took his hands away from.

Riku's eyes fixed on his best friend, which hardened into a glare. "Hey..." he said in warning. If Sora wanted to fly, he was going to have to keep breathing. Riku would be sure Sora regretted that insult later, since Lightning was in his grasp at the moment. "Just get her to give us the dust."

Upon seeing Tinkerbell cross her arms and shake her head, Sora saw the problem. "She won't unless you ask nicely," he said on Tink's behalf. She wasn't just a pixie dust dispenser--she was a fairy who had feelings. Therefore, she wouldn't give them pixie dust unless they treated her for what she was.

"She just kicked me!" Riku said in protest. There was no way he was going to "ask nicely." Not after she intentionally kicked him and started (probably) yelling profanities in his direction. He looked to the fairy, who pouted with the sound of bells. "That was Hook's idea, alright? I had nothing to do with it!" Hook captured her to lure Peter Pan in. Riku was gone by then.

When Tinkerbell looked to him, Sora just shrugged. "You heard the guy. It was Hook." He really couldn't say who did what either way; he sort of popped up in the middle of things. Those were...dark times. But everything was okay now, and they'd fly around and enjoy themselves, if Tink was kind enough to share her pixie dust.

Kairi looked from Sora to Tinkerbell, who still seemed quite upset. Through Sora's eyes, Kairi had met Tinkerbell; when Kairi's heart sought refuge in her husband. "Please, Tinkerbell?" she asked softly. She really wanted to be able to fly, just once. The fairy looked around at all of them, pondering the idea. There were more people here than just Riku, who couldn't ruin it for the rest of them. He hadn't done anything wrong, and even if he did, Tinkerbell wasn't cruel enough to take out her frustrations on everyone.

After a few moments, Tinkberbell displayed her answer. She flew around Kairi first, then Sora, and then to Roxas and Namine. "Thanks Tink!" he called as she did her work. Quite honestly, he had a feeling she just wanted to be done with them so that she could get back to Peter Pan. Those two were almost always together.

Riku watched Tinkerbell dance around the rest of the group; Serah, Aqua, and Ventus. She then stopped in front of him, staring at him before twirling around him and Lightning, sprinkling her pixie dust. He wrinkled his nose as he fought the urge to sneeze, but he nodded to the fairy when she appeared in front of him again. "Thanks," he said with gratitude. Flying would actually be possible now.

Sora waved goodbye to Tinkerbell once she flew off, a wide smile on his face. "And now for your flying lessons!" he said excitedly to the rest of the group. "All you need to fly is faith, trust, and pixie dust. The first two are on you." He smirked, starting straight up into the sky quickly for the fun of it--and for the sake of showing off. Even if he hadn't been there for a while, he was still a great flier.

Kairi's eyes widened and her lips parted as she gazed up at her husband, who was high in the air. Pixie dust trailed behind him, and all she could do was stare. Was it really that easy? Faith...and trust. Trust in what, though? She didn't quite understand, and by Namine's expression, Kairi wasn't the only one.

Roxas chuckled, seeing everyone else's clueless expressions. "It's like this," he said. "If you believe you can fly, then you'll be able to. If you don't, then you can't." That was basically it. He lifted himself off the ground half a foot, motioning with his hands as if to say, "it's that simple."
