Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Riku blinked at the flick, lips parting slightly in surprise. But then he smirked. "You're gonna regret that," he said, feeling devious. He held onto Lightning a little tighter before soaring into the sky with her, moving fast. He was starting to get the hang of this, and that wouldn't be good for Lightning.

Though Lightning's eyes briefly widened when Riku suddenly took off, she quickly composed herself. "What, was that supposed to scare me?" she taunted. As if. She wasn't the type of person to be scared of heights, even if falling from here would mean death. She wasn't scared...because she knew that Riku wouldn't let her go. She trusted him. Her body immediately became lighter at that realization.

"What, you don't think I'll do what Sora did?" Riku asked, stopping high above the island and looking at the girl in his arms. His hold on her was secure, tight. Lightning's grasp on him was the same. He wouldn't drop her, of course. He would never do something stupid like that. Not only would he be in trouble, but he would hate to let her go.

"Nope," Light piped instantly. Riku would never drop her, not even if it was an inch off the ground. Maybe if she was in better shape, he would drop her, but for now, he knew not to. Exacting revenge on her was going to be hard. And speaking of revenge and a certain brunet... When did Riku plan on getting revenge on Sora?

Riku smiled slightly. "Yeah, you're right. I won't," he admitted quietly, his face in close proximity to Lightning's since he was holding her to his chest. Ever since he found her with Cedric, he hadn't kissed her. Not even on the cheek. He couldn't because of his own grief and guilt before, but now he didn't think she wanted it from him. It wasn't right.

"Of course I'm right," Lightning agreed with a slight smirk. She...knew Riku. She knew him to be a person who was kind, compassionate, and sincere in at least his actions. But she also knew that he was working on being sincere with his words too. Actions may have spoken louder than words, but words still were spoken and had meaning.

Riku's small smile remained at Lightning's expression, and the softness in her eyes. Whatever she was thinking about, it obviously meant a lot to her. He didn't protest against her being right, because most of the time, she was. Especially involving him. Sometimes Riku thought Lightning knew him better than he did.

"You know what else I'm right about?" Lightning inquired as she let go of Riku. His hold on her was still tight enough to keep her airborne--tight enough to keep her pressed against his chest. But it wasn't necessary. She knew something he didn't know: she already had her faith and trust. She was already airborne on her own.

Riku's eyes widened when Lightning let go, and that was when he looked past his arms and down at her legs. The pixie dust... "You're flying," he said in awe. She was doing it all on her own, and he hadn't even been holding her that long. Where did she find her faith? When did she find it?

"I am? No way," Lightning said sarcastically. "I never would have guessed." But even as she said so, she lifted her hand once again and flicked Riku's nose. She didn't know why that was so much fun, but it really was one of her favorite things to do when taunting or teasing him.

"Hey!" Riku said in protest, taking back one of his arms and grabbing Lightning's hand. She needed to quit doing that. His nose would go numb if she kept that up. He put distance between them when he went to grab her hand, but he wanted to be closer. Sometimes he felt like he couldn't be close enough.

"Ouch Riku," Lightning said. "What if I wasn't flying? You would have dropped me to oblivion just because I flicked your nose." She gave him a look, one of fake-criticism. It was possible that his pixie dust could have surrounded her legs enough to make her look like she was flying before, but then again, her sarcastic remark gave her away.

Riku released Lightning completely, putting more distance between them. "Maybe you would have deserved it," he said, smirking. He was kind of tired of people flicking his face, but if people kept insisting on it, he would keep his distance. Besides, their friends were waiting for them. They had more than just this part of the island to explore.

"So the punishment for nose flicking is death," Lightning said stoically. "I'm remember that." Yeah, as if she would be punished that severely for something so trivial. She turned her head slightly when she sensed movement behind her, but she was too late to stop the arms that wrapped around her waist from behind. For a brief moment, she was terrified. It was the same hold Riku had on her when he yanked her away from Cedric's body. But the voice in her ear reminded her of the context of their situation.

"You're flying!" Serah squealed as she hugged her sister from behind. "And you caught on so quick, too! Who ever said you're not a trusting person?" She was seriously impressed with how quick Lightning could fly, and she had no doubt her success involved Riku.

Riku's smile softened at the sight of the sisters together, and he took that as his chance to mingle with the others. He turned his head and soared toward Sora and Kairi, the latter doing another flip in the air. Her laughter rang in his ears, and he was glad to hear it. He hadn't heard Kairi laugh in a long time.

Roxas glanced over at Namine, who still hadn't released his hand since they began flying. She had a fine handle on it and he thought she had enough confidence to let go, but she insisted by tight grip that she wasn't ready. "You're not going to join in the flips anytime soon, are you?" he joked to her.

Namine turned her head, sky-blue eyes resting on Roxas and his smile. It stunned her for a moment, as did the question. "Oh, um...no, I don't think so," she said, glancing away as her cheeks began to burn. It was embarrassing that she was still clinging to his hand so tightly, but she was afraid she wouldn't be able to fly once she let go. What if Roxas wanted her to release his hand? Maybe she should just take the chance and do it, that way he wasn't stuck to her the whole time. He probably wanted to go do flips with the others.

"That's alright," Roxas assured Namine casually, not sensing her unease. "It's fun flying around even without the acrobatics." He would do flips and stuff if Namine felt comfortable to let go of his hand, but he was perfectly fine staying with her.

Namine smiled, but she did it a little sadly. No, she would let Roxas go have fun with the guys. He'd been with her a lot lately. She wasn't that entertaining. "Um...I'd like to try to let go now," she said softly. It was time she did this on her own.

Roxas arched a brow slightly, surprised that Namine suddenly wanted to let go. What, did she want to work her way up to flips by flying on her own? "Okay, sure..." he said, slowly loosening his hold on her hand instead of immediately snatching it away. In a way, he was sad to let go. Even if her hand was sweaty from nerves, holding onto her was still insanely wonderful.

Namine's smile faded as fear suddenly overcame her, but she just had to remember what gave her the faith to fly: friendship. The friendship she found in Roxas, and the feelings he gave her. She closed her eyes as she took her hand away, holding her breath as she anticipated a sudden fall. But there was nothing. She opened her eyes and looked down, realizing how high she was but more excited with the fact that she was flying on her own.

Roxas opened his mouth to congratulate Namine and give her a "good job", but before he could speak, an excited Serah joined their flying group and began talking a mile a minute.

"So," Serah said brightly, flying up behind Riku as she set her hands on his shoulders in a sisterly way. "Are we going adventuring? Ven told me that there were treasures..." And even greater than gold was the chance to explore with her friends, and her sister.

Riku looked over his shoulder at the youngest Farron, smiling as he turned back to his friends. She was a little excited, considering that this was the first real world she'd ever explored. Disney Castle didn't really count. In Neverland, there were pirates and Heartless running around; danger, which Serah had never actually encountered. "I don't see why not," Riku said with a small shake of his head. They didn't have much else to do except fly around.

The other boys in the circle nodded their agreement, so Serah's gleeful smile extended. "Great!" she said. "Wanna have a contest? Let's see who can find the best treasure!" They could split into groups or pairs or go alone if they really wanted to. She didn't care just as long as the day was overflowing with excitement...and distractions.

Aqua smiled to herself at the suggestion. If she remembered correctly, Ven was all about finding lost treasure. "I guess we should split up then," she suggested, floating in the air beside her friends. Kairi nodded her agreement, as did Riku and Namine. She wasn't sure what groups they were going to split into, or if they would go in pairs, but this could be fun.
