Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"There's nine of us, so...groups of three?" Roxas guessed. That would be the easiest way to divide everyone--the groups would be even and fair. "Anybody wanna volunteer to be team captains and pick teammates?" He wasn't really the leader type, so he'd sit that part out. Though...he hoped to be on Namine's team.

Kairi nudged her husband with her shoulder, knocking him to the side slightly since they were in the air. "Sora will," she said on his behalf. "Riku too." Her best friend looked over at her and smirked, to which she rolled her eyes. She knew her boys like the back of her hand. Now they needed one more captain.

"I'll be the third," Ven offered willingly. He had to admit, he imagined a lot of people would want to be on his team: after all, he knew the Island best. But whatever team Aqua went on would be good too, since she knew the place as well. That was why he was planning on making her the first member of his team.

Kairi nodded slightly in acknowledgment and motioned to the three. "Go on then," she said. They could go ahead and pick their teams. Kairi imagined she would be with her husband, but if not, then there would be some friendly competition going on for the couple. Riku and Lightning too, if they weren't on the same team.

Ven looked around, surveying everyone. Yeah, he knew who he was going to pick. "Aqua," he invited with a gleeful smirk. He wanted her on his team, not anybody else's. Now that they had the two people who best knew the island on one team, they had this in the bag.

Aqua smiled and floated over to her friend's side, wrapping her arm around his shoulders. "Good choice," she told him with a pat to the shoulder. Both of them had seen the island before, but so had Roxas. Whoever picked him would have a good chance at finding the treasure first too.

Riku went ahead and decided his first teammate. It should have been obvious to everyone who he picked. "Lightning," he said, smirking slightly. She was always going to be on his team.

As Lightning floated to Riku's side, Sora called on his next teammate. "Roxas," he said proudly. He wanted his Nobody on his team--He had been to the island before. If they wanted to find anything, then he'd need his help finding any treasure. Man, if Donald were here, he'd be excited. That duck had an unnatural attraction to anything gold.

Namine lifted a hand to her mouth when Sora didn't pick Kairi first, who looked a little upset at the choice. Namine muffled her chuckles at the expression on Kairi's face, but she quickly silenced them when the redhead looked her way. She wasn't going to say anything about Sora's choice. Kairi would do that on her own later.

Not Kairi? That's a surprise... Ven looked over the last three choices, trying to think. Kairi, Namine or Serah... "Kairi," he called upon making his decision. He saw Sora look over at him with a startled express, but Ven just shrugged. If you really wanted her, you should have chosen her first.

Kairi glanced over at Sora when Ven shrugged, and she proceeded to stick her tongue out at her husband. That's what you get for not picking me, she thought, then smiling as she quickly joined Aqua and Ven. Their team was set. They would be just fine, especially since Aqua and Ven knew this island pretty well.

Riku pressed his lips together to muffle his chuckles, much like Namine did beforehand. But now it was his turn. As much as he loved Namine, he had to go with Serah. "Little Farron," he said with a crooked smile. She was on his team with her sister.

"Little Farron?!" Serah cried. Though they were flying in midair and tackles were pretty much meaningless, she still threw herself at Riku's back and wrapped her arms around him, tugging and pushing at him to make him suffer for that comment. She wasn't that little--she was almost fifteen years old. While she was busy torturing Riku, Sora called on his last teammate, Namine.

"Ow!" Riku cried, flailing slightly as Serah tugged on his shoulders and pulled his hair. "Ow! It was a joke!" It was the first time he even called her that, and apparently the last. He wasn't going to get bullied over a nickname.

Namine made her way over to Sora and Roxas, floating beside the former as she linked her hands behind her back. Hopefully they didn't mind her help, but she doubted it. It was Sora and Roxas. They were two of the kindest people she knew.

Seeing that Sora was distracted by the blunder he made with Kairi and Riku was being attacked by Serah, Ven took the lead. "Alright guys, let's get down to it," he suggested. "Some rules...Groups have to stay together. Any treasure you find will have to be brought back with you...The game ends at sunset. We all have to meet back here before the sun completely disappears. Any questions?" He saw Lightning shake her head slightly, but whether that was to him or a shake of disbelief to Serah, he didn't know.

"Works for me," Kairi agreed with a smile, while Namine simply nodded her agreement. "Should we go?" They could get going while Sora was distracted and Riku was defending himself against Serah. Even if their team already had an advantage because of who was on it, Kairi was ready to get going.

While Ven nodded to Kairi's question and led his group away, Lightning called to the attention of her group. "Hey," she said, setting a hand on Serah's shoulder as she began to pull her away. "It's begun." Ven's group was already heading out, and now Sora was recollecting himself too. They had a few hours before the end, but every minute was going to count, especially since they were the only group without a single soul knowing the lay of the land.

Riku sighed once Serah was off of him, and it was one of relief. He ran his hand through his hair and then rubbed his shoulder, rolling it as he looked to the two sisters. Lightning must have taught her some self defense, or Noel. She got a few hits in. Riku's eyes darted from them to the groups that were already leaving, and he decided that he would lead the way. He started forward, turning around and flying backwards. "Keep up, you two!" he taunted. Riku wasn't losing this thing.

"Where are we going?!" Serah called after him, though she quickly flew after him. She accidentally tapped Lightning's leg as she flew by, causing her sister to pause briefly before she too followed Riku. Serah looked over the landscape, seeing a lot of trees up ahead. If she was a pirate, where would she bury treasure? "Are there any caves?" That was where she'd put a treasure for sure.

"That's what we're gonna find out," Riku said with a smirk, looking from Serah to her sister who was right behind her. Lightning could finally have some fun. That made Riku so...happy. He couldn't exactly conceal it, so he turned and hoped neither girl noticed too much. He faced forward and flew above the trees, looking for any sign of a cave. There had to be one here somewhere.

Sunset

Riku's team was the last to arrive back where they were, and they barely made it there for sunset. Everyone was sitting on the ground waiting for them instead of flying, obviously tired from a day full of searching. Lightning too was tired and she lowered herself to the ground, though she was careful about it. She extended her legs in front of her, witnessing Serah do the same to her side before she collapsed completely onto her back. Her sister burned a lot of energy today, what with putting Riku and Lightning in basically every awkward situation she could. Serah was trying way too hard to get them to confess their undying love for one another.

Riku held onto his and the girls' treasure, the moogle under his arm much like a football. He landed on his feet, unlike the Farrons, who were exhausted, as they should have been; they managed to run into creatures known as Moogles, much like the ones that ran the synthesis shop in Traverse Town years ago. They were harmless little things, and this one definitely liked to whine. "We've got our treasure for the day," Riku chimed with a smirk, holding the moogle up with both hands to show his friends as the little guy whined a high-pitched "Kupo!"

Sora's blue eyes widened as he looked at the creature under Riku's arm. "You guys kidnapped a moogle?!" he cried, though he wasn't sure if he was alarmed or amused. The poor little guy was squirming in Riku's hold. He didn't look...distressed or hurt--He just kind of looked flustered.

"We didn't kidnap him," Serah said in their group's defense. "We found a village of them and you guys did say to bring the treasure with you, so..."

"So you kidnapped him," Ven smirked.

"Yeah, pretty much," Serah confessed.

Namine couldn't help but laugh at the explanation, rising to her feet and approaching the moogle. "Hi, little guy," she cooed, lifting a hand and lightly touching his face. The moogle visibly relaxed at her touch, releasing a quieter "Kupo" compared to the last one. "What's his name?" He was so cute!

Riku looked over at Lightning and Serah. "Did we ever find that out?" he asked. He was too busy chasing the guy around to really hear anything, other than the obnoxious "Kupo!" every five seconds. At least Lightning and Serah got a laugh out of it.

"Mog," Lightning responded. And for the sake of the rest of the group... "He wasn't really kidnapped, he just doesn't like to be held by his head like Riku was doing." That was what she gathered by listening in to the other moogles chatter away while Riku flew after Mog. She smiled more in that village than she had in the past month.

Namine glanced up at Riku to see him roll his eyes at Lightning's words, but she returned her attention to the moogle. "Mog," she said softly. "If Riku lets you go, will you stay for a little while? I've never seen a moogle before."

"Sure, kupo!" Mog replied happily. "I have presents anyway, kupo!"

Riku released Mog when Namine prompted him to, and the moogle floated in front of the blonde, waving his wand around. Riku heard of the presents Mog was talking about, because it was explained to them once they reached the village. Finding them was a triumph on its own, since it was so deep in the woods.

With the flick of Mog's wand, Roxas suddenly became aware of two adornments that he hadn't had before: a headband on his head with a giant pompom being held straight up atop his head and a set of fake wings on his back. "H-hey," he protested, while Ventus gave out an excited "cool!" at the adornments that appeared on his own body. Roxas felt so silly like this....
