Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Namine shrugged slightly, her hand leaving Roxas's shoulder. "It's okay," she assured him. She would have the night to process everything, and so would he. Roxas seemed to be done training for the night, but his mind wouldn't rest. Neither would hers. Her heart would race tonight, just as it did now when she gazed at Roxas.

Roxas nodded slightly, taking in Namine for a moment. She was taking it...well, despite his suddenness. "I'd like to hear your thoughts on it though," he said quietly. "Sometime." She could tell him now or later: whenever she was ready. He wasn't going to force her to talk now when he already unloaded so much on her.

Namine smiled weakly, nervously glancing away. "My thoughts are...a mess," she confessed quietly, glancing back at Roxas behind her blonde bangs. She couldn't really put her feelings into words. She wouldn't make this situation more than it was, though; until the time came when Roxas told her outright how he felt about her, she wouldn't assume he meant he liked her romantically. How could he? She wasn't anything like the girls he went on those dates with. She wasn't his type, or so she thought.

"Sorry about that," Roxas said with a weak, sheepish smile. He wished it hadn't happened like this, but there was no taking it back now. But now what? They were just kneeling here, alone with so many things to say but nothing to say at the same time.

Namine lowered her gaze at that smile, eyes closing. "Don't apologize," she requested gently. Roxas didn't have anything to apologize for. Who was she to be upset with someone for expressing their feelings? Especially Roxas...someone she found incredibly handsome and charming.

"I guess I can...walk you to your room?" Roxas offered. What else was there to do? It was late and everyone else was probably heading to bed. He and Namine should have done the same since they were going back to Olympus Coliseum tomorrow for the finals. But...he didn't know what he'd do yet.

Namine looked up instantly at the offer, her eyes finding Roxas's. "Oh...uh, you don't have to," she said, blushing slightly. "...Can you even walk?" Roxas seemed really weak. Was walking even an option? She guessed she could help him to his room, but she wasn't sure if she was strong enough to support his weight. She would try, though, for him.

"Oh, uh, yeah," Roxas said. He set a hand on the computer and rose, able to do it. He regained some energy while sitting on the floor, and anyway, he wasn't going to sleep on this floor tonight. He'd make it just fine; he wouldn't let himself do anything less.

Namine rose to her feet as well, though she then smiled in amusement. "Do you need me to walk you to your room?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. It would be a change of pace, but it would be nice to spend time with Roxas. Even if he did say something worthy of a lot of thought, she liked being with him. She cherished it, actually.

Roxas smiled weakly, though he had to admit that Namine had a point. "Maybe," he confessed quietly. "But I thought maybe I'd come back and..." He didn't finish, realizing that would be a dumb move. Not coming back, but telling Namine that he was thinking of coming back.

Namine's eyes went from amused to shocked and then to expressing her disapproval. "Roxas," she said, frowning. He wasn't training again. If she had to make sure he fell asleep first, she would. He wasn't going to train again when he was so deprived of food or energy.

"Um...whoops?" Roxas tried. But there was no recovering from his most recent blunder. She could handle being told that she was important to him, but she couldn't handle the idea of him training again that night. He really should have been more careful with censoring himself...

Namine glanced to the side, but only for a moment. She wouldn't give Roxas a hard time, not when he was already beating himself up for his weaknesses. Instead, she stepped toward him and looped his arm around her shoulder, her arm wrapping around his lower back. "You're going to bed, okay?" she asked, looking up at him. She was taking him from this room. He wasn't coming back tonight.

"Okay," Roxas sighed quietly in defeat. He'd go to bed, and if he didn't immediately pass out when he hit the mattress, he'd think about returning. He was a little sad that he wasn't walking Namine to her room, but he knew she wouldn't leave him alone now. Besides, he didn't feel like arguing with her, and he didn't feel like encouraging her to take her arm away.

Namine smiled faintly in triumph. She won this round, but she wasn't so sure about next time. Regardless, she led Roxas out of the training room and walked him through the quiet halls to his room. As they reached the right hall, she found herself not wanting the walk to end. Roxas was warm, and she could still smell his cologne, even if it was mixed with sweat. She liked his touch more than anything. It was disappointing to know it was over.

When they were in his bedroom, Roxas slid out of Namine's loosened grasp and sat down on the bed that was behind him. He couldn't help but sink into it and then fall backwards, his eyes immediately falling shut. Alright, he was exhausted: he had to admit that now. He'd just have to train again tomorrow.

"Heh," Namine laughed softly, gazing at Roxas with amusement. He was like Sora when he was tired, but she guessed that made sense. But...Roxas wasn't Sora. He never would be, and that was a good thing. Roxas was amazing, something Namine continued to recognize every day.

Roxas peeked his eyes open, seeing Namine standing by his legs. "You won this time," he said faintly. She took him to his room so he wouldn't train, and she stopped by the bed so that he'd sleep. In a matter of minutes, he would be knocked out cold and not think about training anymore until morning.

"I'll win next time too," Namine said, lowering her hand and lightly patting Roxas's closest leg. She gazed at him before glancing at the door. She needed to get going; Roxas was about to fall asleep anyway. She looked back to him, smiling gently. "Goodnight, Roxas." She would see him in the morning, when they all returned to the Coliseum for the final match.

"Goodnight," Roxas murmured, too tired to make out the meaning of the words Namine said before her farewell. His eyelids fell shut, his head turning slightly on the bed as his body became more relaxed. Though it wasn't the most conventional position, he was already starting to fall asleep just because of the exhaustion.

Namine smiled faintly and started toward the door, closing it quietly behind her. Her room was just down the hall, and when she reached it, she got herself ready for bed and took refuge in the covers. However, her hear and mind were racing. Sleep wouldn't come easily tonight.

The Next Day

Upon hearing his name announced, Zack waltzed into the arena. He passed a wave and a smile to the crowd, lifting his hand back to grasp the hilt of his large sword. He held it up for them in a pose before he looked towards the other side of the arena. The final opponent wasn't called in yet, and whoever he (or she) was was a mystery. Phil kept things pretty secretive when it came to various branches competing and their victors meeting in the final match.

"And our other final victor---Sephiroth!"

Aqua gasped, eyes widening as a couple of her friends voiced their concerns as well. No... That name... It was too familiar. As the man walked out, Darkness dimmed the area, but the crowd still cheered. The man with the long silver hair stopped across from Zack, a dark angel wing appearing on one side of his back. He was one of Xehanort's vessels. "Zack!" Aqua cried in fear. He wouldn't stand a chance against him!

Zack's eyes widened, but it wasn't because of Aqua's cry. "Sephiroth!" he growled, any form of a smile disappearing from his face as he glared at his former comrade--his former idol. He joined SOLDIER to be a hero, and when it came to heroes, Sephiroth was the best there was. First Class SOLDIER, far above others in rank and always able to be calm. But then... He winced, tightening his grip on the Buster Sword that he held in front of him as he remembered Nibelheim: the town Sephiroth burned when he sank into insanity. How was he here and alive?

"Hello, Zack," Sephiroth greeted, voice and face emotionless. "I thought you died. Shame." He pulled his seven-foot sword from his back, preparing for battle. This was going to be an interesting battle, but if memory served Sephiroth correctly, Zack would not defeat him today.
