Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

"I don't need help," Lightning said, briefly realizing that Serah now grabbed her towel and started walking away to give the fighting couple some privacy. The thing was, she didn't need privacy, because she didn't plan on sticking around. She set her hands on the ground and sat herself up, proving her point at the same time--She didn't need help.

Riku gazed at Lightning in silence. Are you really that mad at me? he wanted to ask. He didn't talk to her as much today with everyone around. Was that enough reason for her to be angry with him? He wasn't so sure, but girls were tricky, even if Lightning wasn't like most girls.

Lightning bit her tongue as she sat and met Riku's eyes, knowing that getting into a fight with Riku here wasn't wise. There was plenty she could say to him and all of them would cause him pain. A part of her wanted to let him have it, but it was hard to fully feel that way, since she just called him "family" a few hours ago.

"...Do you even want me around?" Riku asked, voice low. His eyebrows furrowed slightly after he asked the question. He didn't want to start any sort of fight, especially when he wanted to be done with tension involving Lightning. He and Lightning had been rocky since Cedric came around. He didn't even know where they stood.

"That depends," Lightning said lowly before she could stop herself. "Are you going to lead me on when it's good for you and then leave me alone when you get what you want?" Her piercing blue eyes should have told him what she was referring to, though he should have known what it was already. The incident with the phone.

Riku lowered his gaze instantly. "...It wasn't like that," he said in his defense. He wasn't leading her on; he would never do that. He said he would make it up to her later, and he would if she gave him the chance. But...Lightning didn't really seem to care about that anymore.

"Prove it," Lightning challenged as she rose to her feet. She picked up the towel with her, wrapping it around her waist and tying it so it was a long skirt. If Riku said it wasn't the way that she saw it, then he needed to prove her wrong. She wasn't insane--Serah saw what happened and perceived it the way Lightning did, or so she believed.

Riku rose to his feet as well and looked at Lightning for a moment. "...What way do you want me to?" he asked. He didn't want to overstep any boundaries. With Lightning, that could be pretty easy. To play it safe, Riku would just wait for Lightning's permission for something.

Light looked up at Riku, honestly surprised that he was asking what to do. What, he wasn't just going to storm away because she was ticked? Normally when one of them was angry, the other person got angry too. His question was a good one, too. How did she want him to prove it, anyway...? "...I want..." she said slowly. "...To have a date-night with you."

Riku blinked at the answer. A date night? "With me?" he asked softly, making sure he heard correctly. Lightning was angry with him and yet she wanted to go on a date with him? It didn't make much sense... Was she sure? She didn't have sun poisoning, did she?

"No, with Sora," Lightning said sarcastically, rolling her eyes for good measure. Of course she was talking about Riku. "You said you'd make it worth my while if I gave you the phone, so I'm giving you tonight to prove it." He'd better think quick on his feet and come up with something to do, though she supposed she could interject ideas here and there. Tonight though, Riku's job was to prove he was genuine.

Riku smirked at Lightning's sarcasm, and the expression remained when she finished. "Alright," he said with a faint nod. "Let me know when you're dressed." He would be sure to make it worth her while, just like he promised. He already had a few ideas.

Lightning nodded slightly before she turned around and walked away. It took maybe fifteen minutes to reach her room, since the pool was pretty far away from it. She had a magical wardrobe that could make any clothes that she wanted, but since when did she care about what clothes she wore? She wasn't trendy like Serah. But this was a date, and normally you were supposed to look decent on a date, so... Lightning conjured up a pair of jeans and a light blue blouse and white scarf. It would do. When she was set, she walked across the hall and knocked on Riku's shut door.

Riku opened his door after just spritzing on some cologne, dressed in dark jeans and a black polo shirt. The sleeves hugged his muscles, not that he thought Lightning would complain. Once he saw her, he smiled crookedly and stepped out of his room, shutting the door behind him. "You look nice," he said, eyes roaming her figure before finding her eyes. He didn't think she would dress up for this, but then again, it was her idea.

Lightning blushed, slightly insecure in her choice. "People are supposed to look nice for dates," she said, glancing at Riku's chest naturally. She was just glad that she didn't put on a skirt or anything like that; if she had, it would have been really embarrassing.

Riku's smile remained, but he didn't comment any further on Lightning's attire. He put his hand on her back and motioned down the hall. "We'll be downstairs tonight," he told her, starting to walk. Even if it had been about twenty minutes, the servants around here were quick. When he asked them for a favor, they delivered.

Light tensed slightly when Riku put his hand on her back, but she knew she couldn't push him away. This was a date, and this was what people did on dates. And this was all her idea in the first place. No turning back now. As they walked, she looked down at her feet, realizing that she was growing more comfortable with Riku's hand on her back as they went along.

Riku glanced at Lightning every so often as they walked throughout the castle, but he made sure not to stare too long. They finally reached the room Riku had reserved for them for the night, and after opening the door for Lightning, he entered as well. It was a movie room, complete with bean bag chairs, a snack bar, and a giant screen for them to watch their movie. There was a selection of movies next to the screen that they could choose from, so it was Lightning's choice tonight.

Lightning stopped a step or two in, blinking in awe. They spent so much time at this castle, but there were still so many rooms and places in existence that she had no clue about. The bean-bag chairs were huge; big enough for more than one person for sure. The screen was nice too, and the snack-stand behind them had all kinds of goodies. Finally, she spoke. "...How did you find this place?"

  • Author

"Curiosity," Riku answered simply, his arms crossing over his chest. He looked around the room, which was lit up for now. They would have to turn the lights off if they wanted to watch a movie clearly. He looked to the girl beside him. "What do you think?"

Lightning shut her mouth, regaining her composure. "It's nice," she said casually, as if it weren't that big of a deal. Of course, there wasn't much point in putting up that mask, considering Riku just witnessed her awe. It was a cool room; she had to admit that at least to herself.

Riku smirked, closing his eyes. "Right," he agreed lowly. He recognized Lightning's expression just now; she was that way when they flew for the first time--in awe. He would never forget that face. "Well...the movie's your choice." She could go make a selection. Riku would grab some snacks.

Light nodded, viewing the collection by the front. It was amazing how media transcended worlds; the movies here were many of the ones that were popular on the Islands. After a few minutes of looking through the extensive bunch, she picked out the superhero movie The Avengers. Both of them would like this one for sure.

Riku was already in one of the huge beanbags in the room, bowls of snacks surrounding him. There were chips, cookies, chocolate, and popcorn for Lightning to choose from. He grabbed what he thought she would like, but there were still more selections to choose from on the table. He looked to Lightning when she finished her search for a movie, eyes stuck on her. It was hard to look away these days.

Lightning put the movie in and pressed play, though she soon found the remote to take back to her seat with her. When she turned around and saw Riku in his seat, she couldn't help but smirk faintly. He looked like an absolute pig with all that food surrounding him.
