Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Riku pulled away when Lightning did, and his head turned sharply so he could see the door...and the person who stood in it. "Are you kidding me?" he murmured in annoyance, leaning back in the bean bag chair and bringing a hand to his forehead. This was not happening...

Sora smirked, witnessing the embarrassed couple. Lightning was especially shy. He, however, focused his attention to the big screen. "Oh, The Avengers," Sora cheered. He walked over to the couple from behind, setting a hand on the back of the beanbag before vaulted over it. He plopped down between Riku and Lightning, though he was partly on top of each of them.

Riku grunted when Sora's heavy weight hit his leg, though he then groaned in both aggravation and embarrassment. This seriously was not happening... This was a date, for goodness sake! Didn't Sora understand the term privacy? Riku frowned and lifted his hands, pushing Sora off him and Lightning with a quick shove. "Get off," he ordered lowly. I'm so telling Kairi about this.

Sora stumbled forward a few steps, regaining his balance momentarily. "Hey man, not cool," he said, stepping back and returning to his spot. "Lightning, you mind moving over a little?" The rose-haired girl, however, remained where she was--probably because he was sitting on her too much.

"Sora..." Riku warned lowly, narrow eyes on his "best friend." He wasn't acting much like one, ruining Riku and Lightning's date like this. Didn't he realize how important this was? Riku and Lightning were finally getting back on track, and now Sora was being a dope and sabotaging it all.

"You guys are at a really good part," Sora said, feeling Lightning finally scoot over. "Thanks," he said to her before getting back on track. "This is the escape scene! But Coleson..." Suddenly, he was aware Lightning didn't just move over; she stood up. And she grabbed his arm and his leg, causing him to give out a "whoa" in surprise. She literally yanked him off the chair and held onto him, starting towards the door. "Lightning! What are you--?" She suddenly pulled him backwards and then flung him forward, outside the room. He landed on the carpeted ground with a thud and a great deal of confusion. She literally threw me out.

Riku smirked in approval to Lightning's method. "Not sorry!" he called to Sora outside the room. Sora deserved that kind of treatment, ruining his and Lightning's date like this. While Lightning just dealt her revenge, Riku would deal his own soon enough. Sora had to have known that.

While Sora sat up and groaned in the hallway, Lightning shut the door and locked it. The lock wouldn't do much good for a Keyblade wielder, but it was better than nothing. "He's a scrawny one," she said to Riku, jerking her head towards where Sora now sat. Picking him up had been surprisingly easy. Either he was extremely light or her training actually paid off.

Riku chuckled lowly, nodding. If he remembered correctly, he said the same thing about Serah earlier in the pool. Even if Sora didn't weigh much, however, he was strong. He fought too many foes to be considered weak, not that anybody would ever call him such. If they did, they would regret it.

Lightning thought she heard Sora moan again in the hallway, but she ignored it. She walked back over to the beanbag chair and sat down where she was before, though this time, she cuddled up to Riku's side and disregarded the movie. As much as she loved the movie, it was better to just be with him again.

"But you," Riku began, wrapping his arm around Lightning securely, "are strong, and that is quite attractive." The fact that she threw Sora out so easily impressed Riku. Her training was paying off, even if she hadn't been using her Keyblade. They would have to fix that.

"Well," Light said, daring to wrap one of her arms over Riku's stomach. "I had a good trainer." He started out as her teacher, though Aqua then took over to teach her more spells. It was so strange to think how recent that was--It was within the past month for sure. All the days of this crisis blurred together now that things were coming to a close.

"Hm," Riku hummed, smirk softening into a smile. "Me too." Riku was good for Lightning's skills, or at least some of them, and Lightning was good for his. They were a good match in that way, but Riku liked to believe it was more than that; they were a good match in general.

"Yeah, I was pretty good, wasn't I?" Light smirked, lightly poking Riku in the side to show that she was joking. She supposed she was good at teaching Riku; he seemed to get a lot out of their time in the training room.

  • Author

"Yes, ma'am," Riku agreed, pulling Lightning a little closer with the poke. He didn't like to think of the beginning of that training, since he was a jerk. Lightning was hard on him for good reason, of course, and he deserved the harsh training. In the end, it actually made him better, even if he didn't really have a use for those skills now that Xehanort was gone.

"Hmph," Lightning hummed, her small smirk still present at the title. "Smart man." Surely he remembered the start of their training, when he belittled her and believed she had nothing to offer him. He was definitely wrong, and she proved it to him. And to herself.

Riku's smile remained as he gazed at Lightning, but after a minute he lifted a hand to swipe her bangs out of her eyes. "Speaking of training," he began, voice low, "any chance of you showing off that Keyblade soon?" Her heart was in a better state, a lighter state, so the Keyblade probably looked different than the last time. Riku didn't have to ask to know that Lightning's Keyblade reflected the state of her heart at the time; he was connected to her and the blade in a unique way.

"Why?" Lightning inquired quietly. "There a battle coming that I should know about?" That was the only reason she could think of to bring out her Keyblade--that and training. She didn't see either of those happening in the near future.

  • Author

"No," Riku replied with a faint shake of his head. "I just want to see it." Besides, Lightning was a Keyblade wielder now; if a battle did come up that she wanted to participate in, she had to be able to wield it comfortably. Riku would help her, of course. He wouldn't let her just swing it around without proper training.

Lightning took her hand away from Riku's stomach, extending it in front of them. It just does what I want it to, she reminded herself. If she wanted it here, it'd come here. A brief shimmer of light appeared along with a weight in her hand--the Keyblade that she inherited from Riku. It had sparks that were both purple and blue, but the purple was light instead of nearing black and the blue was bright.

Riku blinked when Lightning suddenly summoned her weapon, but he didn't complain. He was actually seeing it up close for the first time. His smile grew in approval. "Nice," he complimented lowly, eyes darting over the blade. It was much cooler than his, that much he had to admit. But...his Keyblade was special to him, and he would always prefer it over someone else's. Each Keyblade reflected its wielder, which held heavy significance.

Light hummed quietly, opening her hand and summoning the weapon away in a small flash. It was a bit too bright for this dim room. It was then she was reminded of the movie, which they disregarded some time ago and never got back to. Maybe it would have been better to let Sora stay in here and enjoy the movie; they could have gone elsewhere.

"Sora, quit it!" Kairi giggled, moving her feet quickly as her husband dragged her down the hallway. They were in a part of the castle that Kairi had never seen before, and she doubted the others did either. Regardless, Sora encouraged them all to follow, wherever they were going. She, Sora, Roxas, Namine, Serah, Aqua, and Ventus were all following, trusting Sora not to lead them into trouble. But...where were Riku and Lightning?

Sora stopped in front of the door, shushing everyone (mainly Kairi and her giggles) from making any noise. "It's a movie party," he explained. "Riku and Lightning wanted us to come." He was making up the latter bit--and the former too. But it'd be fun to get revenge for being thrown out. Having unlocked the door earlier, Sora simply set a hand on the doorknob and opened it. "We're hereeeee!" he called cheerfully to the couple.

Lightning automatically backed away from Riku again, seeing more than just Sora in the doorway this time. It looked like he brought everyone along with him. Great, there goes our date.

Riku looked to the door immediately, eyes hardening significantly when he saw Sora again. You idiot, he wanted to scold. His plans of telling Kairi were a bust, considering she followed Sora in. And then Roxas and Namine, Ventus and Aqua, and Serah too. Riku glanced back at Lightning then, wondering if that was why she moved away so suddenly. Serah was here. Or was it that she didn't want anyone to see them so close?

Namine walked in after Kairi, eyes widening when she saw the massive screen against the wall. A movie room? she wondered in silence. It was amazing! And there was a snack bar, too!
